and the sunshine continues in sonoma valley. we have a lot of beautiful views around that area and we're going into the upper 60s for the next several days for those high temperatures. and our morning starts out in the lower 40s. you got to get to work this morning. here's a look at the san mateo bridge. we're seeing a smooth flow this morning. we're hoping that the friday light commute continues and so far it's been fairly quiet with a lot of green sensors around the bay area as we -- if anything is starting to slow. some of the longer commutes coming through the delta. we're seeing a couple of spots slowing down. there was one accident coming into livermore and that has slowed down things on 580. and we're also starting to see it slowing down coming through pleasanton, that cut through is slowing down a little bit. a closer look at the bridges. here are a couple of spots where people brake just a little bit. but overall you have a good drive across either the dun barton or the san mateo bridge. >> thanks so much. >>> a sea of

you see how low things were, lake sonoma, too, was 39% of historical average. over 100 for most of the north bay and even the larger reservoirs around the santa clara valley water district. as we take you across reservoirs across the state, the numbers there impressive with snow melt yet to get under way which typically helps reservoirs like trinity, which is lagging behind, 50%. that should come up. look at oroville, look at shasta and the larger reservoirs. the largest 92% of historical average and we still have a lot of sierra snow set to melt, and the water content up there is tremendous as of that early month snow survey up to 54 inches dwarfing the previous three years combined. that will filter in and keep those levels high as we get it through the rest of the spring and summer. what's running high are wind speeds. gusty winds close to 40 miles an hour at sfo, northwest at 20 in san jose. wind speeds will stay blustery through the evening. probably the start tomorrow but unlike today we're not expecting another one of those drizzle storms for your mornin

we will still have world class wines being produced in napa and sonoma and willamette valley, bordeaux, burgundy. but styles might shift right in years where there are dramatic heat spikes, the wines might be a little bit richer, a little bit higher in alcohol in years where there are fires, for example, or ill timed frosts or hails early in the season, that could mean that there will be less wine available. and we've seen all of those shifts already to some extent. but how are these changes that are occurring with the climate and their effect on the grapes happening uniformly or more rapidly in some places than in others? for example, in napa versus sonoma or bordeaux versus burgundy, it depends on the year that you're asking me that question. yeah, it really there's just no consistency with what's happening. one of the chapters in my book, for example, focuses on the incredibly impressive sparkling wine industry of southern and southeastern england. i read that right. and this is a place where forever why would they make great wine sparkling wine in england, right? we're not talking
