thanks for joining us, i'm janelle wang. >> i'm raj mathai. >>> an update on the killing of the 5-year-old girl on 880. three men are charged with the death of eliana crisomo. >> reporter: a senseless crime. police and prosecutors laid out how they connected the suspects to two shootings. >> these are bad people, and i am grateful they are no longer in our communities causing harm. >> reporter: chp and fremont police say the three men seen here shot at a man in fremont on saturday the 8th because he was wearing red. investigators say the men missed and sped off in a red honda, but security cameras captured the license plate. the chp says just 15 minutes later, the same suspects fired multiple times at an suv on 880 driving southbound in fremont, allegedly flashing gang signs before shooting. but inside was 5-year-old eliana crisotomo and her family on the way to a birthday party. the bullet hit her in the chest. her 7-year-old brother was not hit. her parents stopped when they saw a chp officer on the side of the freeway. ill eliana didn't make it. >> it's utterly disgusting that they woul

i'm janelle wang. >> i'm raj ma thiechlt a new development in a tragic case our investigative unit has been following for more than a year. the family of a teenager girl who died from a fentanyl overdose has reached a settlement with some of the people accused in her death. >> candice nguyen joins us with this new development. >> we have been investigating this case digging into how it was handled by law enforcement and who is liable in the death of 16-year-old emma price. a report shows price died in 2021 from an overdose of fentanyl and concoction of other drugs. she was spending time with michael j. russell. mikey was never criminally charged in price's death. earlier this year he was sentenced to ten years in prison for providing price and another minor with narcotics and having sex with both girls. separately the price family sued michael russell and his parents for wrongful death. the prices recently settled the civil suit with the parents for an undisclosed amount. in the lawsuit they accuse mikey and his family of delaying medical help that may have saved their daughter's life.
