nearly all of california is now in some stage of graft drought. here is the latest map that was just released this morning by the u.s. drought monitor and you can see a lot of red and yellow covering most of the state, including a big chunk here in the bay area. the red color indicates areas in extreme drought. yellow means severe drought. in fact, the drought monitor says 97.5% of california is in some stage of drought at this time last year just 41.5% of california was in one of those drought stages and this will show us what's happening as we take a look here just days after sonoma county declared a drought emergency. we're now getting an aerial look at what the conditions are like there. this is video from our quad copter. 4 right above the lake sonoma reservoir right now. it's at 62% capacity. so there should be a lot more water there. and to try and help california state lawmakers are moving forward with a multibillion dollar package to address the state's drought issues. our capitol bureau reporter ashley zavala joining us live on to explai
