as we take a look at the north bay, we are only in the low 50s. we will see temperatures coming up a few more degrees. this is a big shift from the weather we had yesterday where there were widespread 70s and even a few low 80s. today in the south bay, we will see a high of 68 degrees. 62 in dublin and mid-60s for much of the north bay with san francisco in the upper 50s today. and tomorrow even cooler. that's where the rain begins. we will see clouds, off and on showers and even some snow on our bay area mountains. we don't improve much on friday. we're going a big snap back to winter for a little while. and looking at the rain coming in tomorrow morning, that starts out during the morning commute and off and on showers throughout the day. it will not be raining all day long, but at any point we could see a quick passing shower and a thunderstorm moving in with this next system that will be coming through the bay area. it may also bring in some small hail with those thunderstorms and our bay area mountains are looking at 1 to 3 inches of snow. th

that would be for the north bay. we'll probably see the leading edge of this in the north bay as early as 10:00 or 11:00 at night, but there won't be a lot to that. this will really come at midnight to 7:00 a.m. for the first phase of the storm, that line there, that widespread steady rain. that comes across and everybody gets pretty consistent rain while we're sleeping. by sunrise most of that's done and clearing out. by 7:00, 8:00 that line starts to move towards the east and we'll find ourselves in an opening. 10:00 a.m. you could easily get a head fake on this and go oh, that's it. rain came through, it's done. nothing happening now, but that's a short break of the steady rain in the morning and what could be the more interesting part of this system. in the afternoon and evening, now we're back towards the center. you can see how there's a counterclockwise spin and that's where you can get closer to heavier downpours, our chance to see the occasional isolated thunderstorm mixed in. we're bracketing that time fram

we'll start it off with 48 for the east bay, 45 in the north bay, only exception san francisco which will be in the low 50s. daytime highs tomorrow, instead of 70s we're back down to the 60s, 65 in cupertino, over to the east bay up to 64 in vallejo, also mid-60s in pleasanton, up to the north bay 64 clearlake, 63 mill valley. rain chances, cold weather gets back with us as we head through thursday. i see rain starting in the morning and then we see on and off chances through the evening. overall rainfall totals thursday anywhere from a quarter to maybe a half inch for some of the higher elevations and friday for a lot of us it's around a 0.1-inch or less, although some of the coastline and peninsula still could get about a quarter to a half inch. on the seven-day forecast still can't call it totally dry this understand weekend, 20% chance of a shower saturday, 50% chance and we dry it out next week as we get ready for the eclipse next monday. we got some warmer weather next week and things look much better. >> thank you. >>> speaking of that eclipse next week, one state is planning
