we remember san francisco's 1906 earthquake. that 7.9 quake that caused a lot of devastation and more than 3,000 people were killed and now this morning, city leaders and first responders held a commemoration event at lotta's fountain on market street and residented used the place as a meeting point for the aftermath of the quake and a wreath was laid at spot dedicated to the memory of the late senator dianne feinstein and those who died in the devastation. following that ceremony, there was a procession to that gold painted fire hydrant on the 20th and church streets. just near dolores park. where it was repainted gold and that hydrant was reportedly one of the few that still supplied water at the time to fight the fires after that quake. now on this day of reflection we know many volunteers work lard to put together this commemoration. and honor those who have contributed to the preserving that history. shawn chitnis live this morning at dolores park and shawn, we're waiting on the ceremony. but for now, we have some photos. s
