philadelphia does bifurcate. there are areas of philadelphia that look like the finest area of america and then it's got areas where nothing happens. story. if you go back to the 1970s where i indicate in the books that i've written, that is when the turning point came, away from the robert moses demolition at all costs, clear the neighborhoods, build new public housing, new highways and basically hollowing out the city. the turn around started when people organically started moving back to neighborhoods. rebuilding those neighborhoods. defying the expertise of all the people who said the other way was the better way. this was when the jane jacobs approach took hold in a new way. and today we hear too much of the kind of rhetoric and programming that we heard in an earlier time. the big projects, philadelphia's waterfront may be fine. but it's not going to bring back the middle class. and the big projects never live up to the expectations they set for us. and the smaller projects, the kind of jane jacobs approach

pottstown, wilmington, philadelphia in the 40s. and yesterday was north and west areas that were right at the freezing mark, leading to some icing to start with, but not today. bluebell, glenside in the low 40s. go farther inland, you can see a couple 30s. eagleville is down to 39 degrees currently, but it is bumped up to 40 at the airport in pottstown. gilbertsville is 41 degrees. so, a much better start this morning. we are seeing clouds start to move back in north and west, as expected. there are some breaks in the clouds in delaware and south jersey, so limited sunshine to start with. the sun is coming up in about a half an hour at 7:11 this morning. the clouds will be increasing as the day goes on. and even though we're dry this morning, this is where we will see showers return this afternoon. first rain, and then the possibility of some snow as the atmosphere cools. but ground temperatures are on the warm side, so i'm not expecting to see any daytime accumulation. not for most of the area. 42 degrees at 11:00. philadelphia at
