>> from the bay area's local news station. we now with breaking news. >> breaking news at 6 alameda county district attorney pamela price is hosting a press supposed to happen any minute now to discuss. the recently concluded reexamination into the death of mario gonzalez. thanks so much for joining us tonight on kron. 4 news at 6. i'm vicki liviakis and i'm grant lotus. it has been almost 3 years now since gonzalez died in police custody. >> it was 4/19/2021 neighbors near a park in alameda called police reporting a person. it officers showed up and eventually took. 26 year-old mario gonzalez to the ground while trying to cuff him. he lost his breath with officers, pinned him and later died at the hospital. the alameda county coroner's office ruled the death a homicide, an independent autopsy determined gonzales died from as 11 million dollar federal civil rights lawsuit was filed against the city of alameda in this case and the 3 officers involved in gonzales is death. the money will be awarded to gonzales is 7 year-old son.
