ktvu jana katsuyama spoke tonight with staff from the marine mammal center. they say they saw the whale from a rescue boat. jenna joins us now live from sausalito with the new images. jenna >> julie. they launched their boat from here in sausalito yesterday, and they were able to get very close to the whale. today they searched from point reyes all the way down to daly city. and they said that they could not find it. and that is a big worry for them, they say, because with the approaching weather, that window to help the whale is narrowing. new images wednesday from noaa show the gray whale that was spotted tuesday off the coast near daly city. entangled in a gillnet. gillnets are used in fishing and have a fine mesh that is difficult to untangle. the giant mammal had swum up from long beach, where it was first spotted march 23rd, dragging the mess of net and buoys. the marine mammal center and noaa fisheries launched a boat with a rescue team. kathy george was on the boat and saw the whale close up. it was probably about 25 to 30ft. >> i would place it as a
