here's a view of a little bit of action going on over the pacific, northwest and northern california, seeing just the tail end of it, but the system that is dry tapping into come monday night is going to once again tap into the atmospheric river. dry, breezy weekend. below normal for this time of year when it comes to the temps, but by monday afternoon and increasing cloud cover, and this is the storm again, dropping in tapping into that moisture there that stems from this direction, and then monday night into tuesday, it rolls in right now we're looking at anywhere from half inch to 2.5 inches of rainfall and strong winds associated with it. there is the center of the storm, which is the most unsettled strongest part and notice how close it gets to the coast before it begins to move towards the southern california rainfall amounts. anywhere from ancient inch to 2.5 inches again expected for some of our weather spots and then into the sierra. we have anywhere from a foot to 2.5 ft three ft of snow expected advisories for the sierra obviously coming later in the week, but not the case

here's a look at the storm that is working its way down along the pacific and will be near us by again monday night into tuesday, and it is expected to tap in to that atmospheric river and bring us a good amount of rainfall for this time of year. the pesky part is going to beat the wind. no advisories posted just yet for our area will continue to watch that, as national weather service decides , but here's a look at where we do have an advisory already expected monday afternoon, lasting in a wednesday afternoon , a winter storm watch for the west slope i 80 highway 50 over lake tahoe. so two ft of new snow expected for some areas could see up to four ft in isolated areas and winds expected to reach 60 mph over the sierra, which will create whiteout conditions for us here at home anywhere from an inch to two inches expected for most of us could squeeze out 2 2.5 over our hills. so that is what's coming. and during the monday tuesday timeframe, or i should say monday night into tuesday scattered showers on wednesday, and i'll show you that in the extended forecast. let's take a look at t

a lot of cloud cover streaming across the pacific. we are not done with rain. i don't think for a while, but we get a break for two or three days. sunday monday tuesday is looking wet again and there are systems being forecast by our projections. they're going out to the end of the month here. colder morning, more thirties and forties, mostly sunny little northerly breeze. but it's nothing you can handle a lot of thirties and forties on the temps. even sunnyvale has dropped to 39 on the peninsula woodside's at 38. it's close for atherton, stanford los altos 41. san carlos redwood city in menlo park or 42, pacifica, san mateo at 43 in montara beach, with the north wind and pillar point are at 48 46 degrees happening based at about 22 mph. i should add there still gusts of 44 on the altamonte pass or otherwise, it's pretty quiet. but there's still a few locations in the hills and on the coast that having a decent breeze. quiet today. some higher clouds will roll in on on thursday. friday could be a little bit of activity when you're in a rain pattern. almost ever

the low is coming in off the pacific, and then just just right there going into cruz mountains, san jose peninsula santa clara valley, so that's going to continue here. the rain for a while. i don't see any let up in that area fifties on the temps here and seasonably cool again. we've only had a few days . really where there have been a couple of seventies. we've been stuck in the fifties and sixties for most of this month. there's been a few days but not many forties on the temps. very chilly. tam southern california a little better today is nonstop , though in arizona looks like las vegas is now on the drier side, but it has been a wild pattern in the desert southwest as well. and in southern california we have one more day of rain and possible thunderstorms. then we will get a break with some very cold air is going to come in here over the next few days, so the wind event is over today. more rain in the morning. possible thunderstorms in the afternoon and we won't get too much rain out of this. although santa christmas could pick up another half inch two, maybe three quarters. far les

i should add that the union pacific railroad has been keeping records since 18 66 67. 1938 39 was a huge year, but that's not on the records for central syria. snow lab i would recommend you look up 1951 52. there was a huge snow year for not only this year, but also southern california and northern arizona. i believe some of the records for flagstaff still stand from 1951 52. as a percentage of normal for the date the southern sierras just it's getting crazy now. 283% central sierra 2 31 northern 1 81 statewide 222 the snow water equivalent. melt all that snow down. how much water do you have about 58 inches, so i mean, it's going to be adding more and more . the air law for us this time of year is really cold. mount diablo sitting at 32 degrees northwest wind, 34. mount st alina is 30. tamil pius is 37 coming right down out of the northwest. we have all these deep moisture that is triggering some light rain on the peninsula skyline. santa cruz santa cruz mountains. cold front is on the way, as indicated by this system up, and now again this is a cold front. don't call it anything else.
