chief o'connor, ready for your report. the floor is yours, sir. >> i am ready. good evening vice president, commissioners. tom o'connor deputy chief of administration and this is my report for february, 2023. under home land security with assistant deputy chief brown. we had the planning execution of the chinese new years parade february 4. great turn out by the public and great turn out by command staff as well. see all the happy faces there. we also had on february 23 the bay x hazmat exercisefelt it is a annual training exercise that allows different organizations do multi-jurisdictional drill. they had the decan tamination stage there. (indiscernible) establishing command. members suiting for entry. then making entry in the suits. under diversity equity inclusion office with the assistant deputy chief brew ford, we had the fire ems at the community center. station 31 gives a feel what happens in the fire service. we had a meeting at city hall with chief nicholson and mayor office with the emt program. through this program as i talked we get training for kids

i know tom o'connor stopped by as well. but -- you know they have asked the mayor's office to then asked apartments involved in street conditions what are our needs and solutions. and those needs could be legislative. capital, staffing. so we did put this forward to the mayor's office and -- hopefully we will get additional support within the city and county to tackle the real challenges. we are qualified to understand the needs and -- the chief helped with that. thank you. >> on saturday, we held a boot camp on treasure island you should come come time commissioner collins, you would do well. for the prospective members of 132nd academy starts in june. all those that received a letter to take the next step in hiring were invited. 60 of the 68 showed up. and i think it was good insight for us. as about as for them. in terms of the viz physical expectations a 2 mile run of sit ups. pushups hose drag. 3ing ladders. you could tell who was in shape and who was not. we are going to do another in may. to see where they are all at

one of them i think chief o'connor mentioned the last meeting is carlos martinez. we hired him last april and he is president of the (indiscernible) kids foundation. this is a organization that originally found ed by his grandparents and they focus on 4 areas nutrition, education health and sports so they provide food baskets, scholarships and sports and music equipment to el salvador. in the last month in february, he lead a medical mission of 70 volunteers. five were our own fire department ems members, paramedic (indiscernible) and many of those were recently hired. they treated all most 3 thousand patients, gave away a thousand pairs of grasses, extraicated 32 teeth and wrote all most 12 thousand prescriptions and one day saw over 850 patients so incredible effort and we are really proud of having carlos on our team. in 2020 he won the jefferson award for his work with the foundation. and then another group of our new hires, paramedic nicolas nob [calling out names] san francisco life line program similar to the vile of life where key get access to a patient he
