and temperatures in the north bay not quite as warm as other inland parts of the bay area but still above average reaching into the low to mid-70s. tomorrow's not the warmest day we are going to experience in this little stretch of above average temperatures, that is going to happen wednesday and thursday. san jose topping out around or above 80 degrees far couple days. temperatures still running above normal through the weekend and dry weather is going to prevail over the weekend. there have been 15 weekends so far in 2024. i think maybe four of them have been dry. we'll add a fifth one of the list this weekend. back to near normal temperatures as we head into the middle of next week. let's take a look at the seven-day forecast. we will start with inland temperatures across the bay area, which are going to be warmest for the longest. even the ones we drop off a little bit friday, saturday, and sunday still in the middle portion of the 70s into the beginning of next week. temperatures around the bay aren't going to get quite as warm, and the warm spell isn't going to last quite as long. n

and in the north bay but where they have cleared out as well into the east bay and the seneca valley. you can see a similar perspective here on the satellite loop over the past few hours. parts of the bay area did see sunshine emerging but over the bay and along the coast , the cloud cover was remarkably persistent. here is a look at the time lapse this afternoon, from our huckins hotel looking for the east, you can see where the cloud cover is rolling through. persistent onshore breeze, occasional little peaks of blue sky, but that is about the extent of what we saw throughout the day. had a big impact on our temperatures, 15 to 20 degrees cooler for highs today across most of the bay area compared with where we were yesterday. the biggest change was for the inland , we had some highs in the low 80s yesterday. no such luck today. 57 in fremont was the warm spot on the map. 66 degrees in san jose, 65 in santa rosa and in concord. 60 in sentences and 59 in half moon bay are pretty close to yesterday's high temperatures as the marine air is making its way in already yesterday afternoon

the bay area is warming up this week. some changes are coming. meteorologist jessica burch is in our virtual studio with your forecast. >> it has been a beautiful, warm start to the week with high-pressure sitting just off shore, bringing in the winds from the north and leading up to clear skies in the afternoon hours which are perfect for yesterday's partial eclipse we experienced yesterday but that system will move off into the east later this weekend we have another rain system returning to the bay area, heading into our weekend forecast. this is very similar to last week. i the end of last week, we are talking about breezy conditions. that is happening for us this week as this area of low pressure starts dropping its way down into the pacific northwest and eventually, just off shore of our california coastline. that will bring rain and for us today, saturday, and sunday too and as it continues to circulate just off shore, it will bring in gusty conditions and the cold temperatures too. compared to what we had today, it will look a lot differe

all throughout the bay area. it's really interesting watching the storm system as it moves its way in from the gulf of alaska because we saw a similar storm tracking last week. bringing in cool weather and of course the gusty conditions just ahead of the storm and of course rainy skies and we're getting a repeat of that this weekend. saturday and sunday, both days of rain and then we clear up into early next week so let's actually time this out for you starting off this morning because those clouds are holding on tight to us here in the bay. continue to watch the showers move in into the overnight hours tonight and early morning hours tomorrow. bringing in a series of heavy pockets of rain at times too. now for now, we're just seeing partly cloudy conditions and denser clouds along the coast into the afternoon hours today. here's that first band of rain moving in. but take a look at the time. it's just right there in the top of your screen. this is by 8:00 p.m. at this point we're still left with dry conditions.

we saw hale in the bay area again today. this was just before 4:30 and we got pictures of the hail covering the lawn, and our helicopter shot, what looks like winter at mount hamilton. there is a lot of snow along the observatory and not quite as much here but you can see patches of snow around the peak of diablo. and taking a look outside, there could be active whether for the friday evening commute. >> the best view is to go back to mount diablo, our camera, we started rolling a time-lapse at about 3:00 this afternoon, when the thunderstorm dropped the hail, that started in napa, watch what happens. you are going to see a drop its reign, then it hits the lens, and this camera sits at 3500 feet, you will see light snow and that snow is going to quickly fade away, you can see the next line of thunderstorms start to redevelop. let's go to the first alert doppler, because you can see those thunderstorms on here, this has been almost exclusive for the inland east bay. and it started about 3:00 and it is still going for the tri-
