6:34 am
in delaware, leaves two men dead. there was a guy that was just mowing his lawn, one moment, and he was killed the next. state police say it all started when 25 year old derrick wynn was driving jeep cherokee on route 13, new castle yesterday afternoon. according to officers, he hit two cars, before jumping the cushion to a grassy area, just outside the entrance to wilmington university. the first hit light pole, then man, who was riding a lawn mower. that man, 20 year old francisco jimenez flores was killed, state police are investigating whether wynn maybe suffered some casino of medical condition, that may have led to that tragedy. a man walks into a northeast philadelphia shoe store, pretending to be a customer, but, moments later, pulls out gun on store workers, and you see the video, this is a big gun, there it is, the whole thing unfolded in front of surveillance cameras at the roosevelt mall off cottman avenue. police say the man started waiving the gun around with customers still in that footings store, and eventually, the guy made off with thousand of dollars in
6:35 am
merchandise and cash. now, sources say, the man was shopping in the store, for about a full 20 minutes, before announcing the robbery and threatening to shoot an employee. >> large caliber gun, semiautomatic, it is silver, it is huge. and we are little concerned about that. >> police say the suspect had an employee empty that register, then locked the workers in a back room. footings now has a security guard post in the that store. so far no arrests. >> all right, hot day as we've been talking about all morning long. yesterday we hit about 93, and it was the 09 degrees temperature that we saw for the first time this calendar year, today as we said it will be even hotter. >> so, we've been asking folks to tweet us, fox 29 hot or cold. getting a lot of people writing in they like the cold, you can put on more clothes, or people that like the heat because then you can go out and enjoy it. what are you seeing? i have the snowstorm image of you getting plowed in. so i would think you're a hot
6:36 am
guy? >> , no our hot guy. >> i love the heat. yes, i'm watching the world cup. i could live right on the equator. those guys are world class athletes, they're dealing with it fine. the problem is here you have a lot of people who dedicate spring and summer to get in shape. and people think if they sweat more, it is better for them. and we're seeing people way over dress in the this weather, and maybe way overdoing it, and even though they're out here early, that's great dedication, i applause them for, that do you have take it easy because sue said, hovering around 80 degrees and above, since we got here, at 3:00 in the morning. now, that guy has done his run. good for him. but you know some of these people, look, they just don't look good. the one guy talking about in the vinyl zoo. i couldn't believe he was going to do second lap. he look like he would pass out here. i start worrying about people, whereby the river over here, and usually you get decent breeze. we had nice pleasant breeze at 4:00 a.m. that's completely gone. and so it is real sticky already.
6:37 am
we spin around, the sun already hot and hazy out over us already. construction guys i've been talking to, coming here at 7:00 a.m. to work. they are not happy about. >> this one guy in a dump truck, he said if i don't have air, i don't worth. if the air isn't working, neither am i. his air-conditioning is working and he's the one taking the dirt out of here. so it will be a tough day out here. >> we will run some sound here first, because i have to get to my pet picture. but people out here exercising >> look at the sweat you got going this earl. >> i yes, it is hot out here, it is hot. >> did it surprise you? >> yes, yes. >> how do you look so refreshed? >> i always look like there is i don't know (no matter i run the whole thing. >> little more humid. but not too bad. it is better than the winter we had. outside early spring. too colds. so i'll take this over the colds. >> you can definitely tell it is humid out. >> is that going to affect your exercise routine?
6:38 am
>> i'll exercise early and get it over and done with, and enjoy the air-conditioning and the pool the rest of the day. >> all right, here's the other danger, you saw bus stop budd which his dog muggy, good thing bus stop buddy doesn't have a car, doesn't go to the mall. and people do not leave your kids or your dogs in your cars today, even for two minutes, and even with the windows down like you see the st. bernard, even with the windows down, the experts, in the animal health business, tell you, it is just too hot for a dog to be in a car today. even if the cars running, and the windows are down, but specially with the windows up and a lot of people specially older people, take their dogs everywhere they go, and these are the things you really don't think about, or i'll only be little bit of time, or i'll leave the air running. we saw the k9 dog killed here, the air-conditioning malfunction in the car couple of years ago. just lever your pets at home today. they'll appreciate it. if they don't go with you, they may be little sad, but they won't be dead.
6:39 am
specially do not leave your kids in the car today at all. so hot in the car so fast when you shut the air-conditioning and engine off, within five minutes it goes to 140 degrees inside a car. >> quick slip of the minds can be deadly in a day like today. absolutely great reminder, thanks, steve. officers off the street. cell phone video shows him punching a woman at gay pride festival. what the officers said he was trying do when this all went down. and. >> dangerous, life threatening, shards of glass, coming at you, at, you know, 50 miles an hour. >> bottles of prosecco spontaneously exploding and officials don't know why. the liquor store is caring the now dangerous bottles of booze and what you need to do if you

6:41 am
6:42 am
>> yesterday we had the air quality alert. today it is a heat advisory in effect for the rest of the day. we also are un a severe weather outlook, very slight risk of severe weather later on today. once the thunderstorms pop up. temperatures right now, 79 in philadelphia, we've at 80 in trenton, and close to it, in wilmington, with 78. future temperatures, how about by 2:00, we were at 92 degrees, now there is computer model has us at 93, for a high, by 4:00 p.m. but we could easily reach the mid 90s, and we could easily
6:43 am
tie or even break today's record high, which was set in 1957. of 96 degrees, we will forecast 95 for today, and there is the heat advisory from innocent until 7:00. will be when the heat plus the humidity will be at their worse, and temperatures will feel like they're in the upper 90s, when you combine the heat and humidity. so, 95 degrees, today, but then, mid 80s, for tomorrow. because of some strong thunderstorms, that will move through with a cold front. by friday, this one is a nine out of ten, we think, because the humidity will be down and the temperature will be, as well, as we clear out in the wake of that cold front, first day of summer is saturday. that's when it starts to get little unsettled again. sun in the morning, clouds in the evening. by sunday, we think the thunderstorms will hold off on sunday until nighttime. then, phillies come back to town early next week, and we'll see temperatures in the 80s, so one more day we think in the 90s, kacie, no heatwave.
6:44 am
not yet. >> not too bad. thank you very much, sue. if you are headed westbound 422 approaching first avenue, you have got an accident, it has been moved to the shoulder. still slowing you down. upper merion, ballgomingo road. cell phone video catches a pit burying police officer grabbing a woman, by the hair, and punching her repeatedly. this is at that city's gay pride festival this weekend. so officer claims he was trying to break up a fight. reportedly fought back, kicking him in the groin. she is now facing charges for assault and resisting arrest, the officer on desk duty while the whole thing is under investigation. that california mayor caught throwing a bag of dog waste onto his neighbor's lawn, has resigned. san marino mayor dennis kanier stepped down yesterday after outcry from people there. last week, he tossed that dog
