yesterday on commons drive in lower pottsgrove. today police arrested the officer's neighbor 52-year-old donna krupp and charged her with setting the blaze. live at the house tonight is "action news" reporter chad pradelli. chad what's the latest information on this? >> reporter: jim, investigators say there were ongoing tensions between detective morris and krupp. state police say this entire crime was caught on surveillance camera. they say krupp who lives right there in that yellow house was seen on video walking across that lawn walking up to the front porch and lighting christmas ornaments on fire. the fire quickly engulfed the front porch. this is video recorded by a neighbor before firefighters arrived early yesterday morning. and state police say it's just a few minutes after neighbor donna krupp intentionally set the fire. >> who would have thought that, you know, somebody living that close to you could do something that drastic and that is just horrible, despicable. >> it's tragic.

i can believe that she was involved in it. >> reporter: that's because the owner of the now gutted home is limerick police detective ernie morris. investigators say krupp believed morris was responsible for the ongoing incarceration of her son who has a history of drug abuse and run ins with the law. >> found video surveillance equipment that the victim actually installed recently that led us to a neighbor. >> reporter: detective morris shown here in the shorts tells me he installed the system just before going to disney world last week. he did so because last month, someone vandalized his suv, the result $3,000 in damage. and he suspected the krupps. >> longstanding grille lighters, lights a christmas ornaments on fire then flees the scene. >> reporter: detective morris says his family will get through this but it's been especially tough for his 11 and 14-year-old daughters. >> they lost a pet. they had a cat they lost which is horrible.

>> reporter: right. >> and other personal belongings, everything is gone. everything is gone. it's sad and this close to christmas it's really sad. >> reporter: and krupp remains behind bars favoring arson charges. she's being held on $1 million bail. i'm live in lower pottsgrove, chad pradelli channel6 "action news." jim. >> thank you chad. 43-year-old michael oliver is behind bars on a million dollars bail tonight charged with the beating death of a four-year-old girl. authorities in salem county, new jersey, say oliver was caring for the child and three others at a home on south broad street in penns grove when the girl went into cardiac arrest. authorities say she had suffered massive blunt force trauma. caln township police have spoke can ken to a person of 90 last night's deadly hit and run accident on lincoln highway in thorndale. "action news" reporter vernon odom has this story. >> reporter: this is ke'aysa gray of coatesville. she was the victim of a hit

and run driver before 11:00 last night. she soon died from her injuries. it happened here in the 3400 block of lincoln highway. she had come up here on the road after being unable to gain entrance to this dollar tree store where she worked. her family is devastated. she was studying nursing in the wake of her older sister's death in october. >> the sister passed away with diabetes and she really wandered to learn about the sickness and, you know, help -- try to help her sister and help others. >> reporter: late today caln township police located this damaged honda pilot they believe it is the vehicle involved in the hit and run. they got a tip from a body shop. >> we have every reason to believe that we have located the vehicle that was the striking vehicle last night when the accident occurred. >> reporter: you have talked to the owner. >> we have talked to the owner. >> reporter: she said what. >> at this point we're trying to identify who the driver of the vehicle was at the time of the crash. >> my client is a person of

interest in this case and she's fully cooperating. no charges have been filed. my client has been released. and we're going to continue to cooperate with the caln township police. >> reporter: tonight police here are getting a warrant to search that suv and to examine the clothing of the owner. as this hit and run investigation goes forward. in caln township, chester county, vernon odom, channel6 "action news." >> the search for shane montgomery is expanding. tonight volunteers fanned out along south street in philadelphia to distribute fliers. they also went to bars in manayunk during happy hour to solicit information about the 21-year-old's disappearance. montgomery was last seen leaving kildare's on main street early thanksgiving morning. the fbi is looking for video from commercial and private cameras from the schuylkill river to henry avenue and from green lane to lincoln drive. philadelphia rapper beanie sigel is in the hospital tonight in critical condition after being shot this morning. it happened outside his home

in the 800 block of spruce avenue in pleasantville as he returned from taking his children to school. "action news" reporter an mee mccormick is live in the satellite center. annie, the big question other than his well being is whether siegel was a target or if he was struck by an errant bullet. >> reporter: and jim, after speaking to his long time attorney today he tells us after talking to siegel's family they don't believe he was the intended target. he's still in the south jersey hospital tonight after undergoing surgery earlier today. >> ♪ >> reporter: philadelphia rapper beanie sigel whose real name is dwight grant was starting to get his rap career back on track after his most recent prison release. but tonight, the jay-z protege remains in a hospital in critical condition. according to pleasantville police chief jose ruiz a 911 call shots fired brought police outside siegel's home around 9:00 a.m. this morning. it was here in the 800 block

of spruce avenue in pleasantville atlantic county where siegel was slot in the stomach. police believe the bullet exited out his back. another man found at the scene only had minor injuries. police say it appears the second man was involved in the scuffle but was not shot. siegel underwent surgery today atlantic care regional medical center's atlantic city campus. his long time attorney spoke to us this afternoon. >> i spoke to family members. it appears as though he was the unintended victim of the violence. >> reporter: the philadelphia native has a long history of run ins with the law. most recently he moved from federal prison to a halfway house in august after serving a two year tax evasion sentence. he was released to home confinement in september. siegel has been a victim of gun violence in the past after he was shot in the arm in philadelphia in 2006. >> disheartening because he was in the process of putting things back together, getting back into his career into the music industry.

>> reporter: and jim, the other big question is who is responsible. well, according to police that second man that they believe was involved in the scuffle was not seriously injured. he is not cooperating with police and at this point siegel has not been able to speak with police because of his condition. for now reporting live from the sat center, annie mccormick channel6 "action news." >> thank you annie. more protest today's in philadelphia. hundreds of high school students protested the deaths of two unarmed men at the hands of police. three different schools held peaceful die-in demonstrations including the science leadership academy in center city. the students are upset by the two recent grand jury decisions in ferguson, missouri, and new york. the ferguson panel did not indict the police officer who killed teenager michael brown and the new york grand jury did not indict the police officer who put eric garner in a chokehold. the taj mahal will stay opened longer than expected. the atlantic city casino was slated to close on december 12th but the owners

have postponed that date to december 20th. trump entertainment said it will use those extra eight days for last ditch efforts to save the gambling hall and its 3,000 jobs. if the taj does shut down, it would be the fifth atlantic city casino to go out of business this year. accuweather is tracking rain for the first half of the week and it's already begun in parts of the tri-state area. let's get the latest from double scan radar and meteorologist cecily tynan at the big board. cecily. >> and jim, storm tracker 6 live double scan is showing that we have a damp friday night. if you look at this, though, the steadiest rain is trendy trending farther up to the north. however, we have a conveyor belt of moisture. if we zoom out a lot wider, i'm tracking low pressure moving into the tennessee valley and this has heavy rain associated with it and that low pressure will be tracking just to the south over virginia tomorrow and that's what will bring us the steady heavy rain tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. temperature-wise currently in philadelphia it's 44 degrees.

this is rain, this is not icing here. millville it's 43. it's a cold rain in allentown and reading with temperatures at 34 degrees but the poconos right now is still below freezing. it was 29 degrees last hour. now it's 30 degrees so the national weather service has issued winter weather advisories for the poconos until 1 o'clock in the morning for sleet and freezing rain and one of our "action news" viewers tweeted me, he's up in the poconos he says the crews are salting or treating the roads but the roads are icy so be careful if you're driving to the poconos. tonight it's going to be cloudy with drizzle, some pockets of light rain. that will continue into the morning on saturday. clouds, no real heavy rain in the morning. however, tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening, this is when we get that soaking rain. looking at about three-quarters of an inch to an inch of rain but the good news is it's not going to be a weekend washout. i'll talk about drying conditions but chilly windy conditions on sunday and also track the potential for a

>> in other news tonight flames tour through a delaware county home this morning on the 700 block of agnes avenue in morton. crews got the call at 9:30.

fortunately nobody was hurt but as you can see the house was severely damaged. the cause of this blaze is still under investigation. a 65-year-old ocean county teacher has been accused of downloading and distributing child pornography. modesto torres was substitute who most recently worked at the manchester township school district. he was arrested tuesday at his home on eighth avenue. school officials have removed him from their list of subs. they say he did pass a background check before he was cleared to work in the district. a driver was killed after his car slammed into several parked cars overnight in cheltenham township near the intersection of front street and hildale road. police say the 26-year-old philadelphia man was ejected from his vehicle after he crashed into another car and somebody's driveway. he was pronounced dead at the scene. police are still investigating exactly what happened. president barack obama has announced his next nominee to be secretary of defense and he

is from montgomery county. ashton carter will be the president's -- or would be the president's fourth person to hold that position in six years if confirmed. the abington high school graduate has served nearly a decade in leadership positions at the pentagon in the clinton and obama administrations. the superintendent of the abington school district praised obama's choice and said her students will greatly benefit from it. >> he's clearly a role model for all the students in the abington school district. these students in the communities of abington and rock lidge which is who we educate see dr. carter as someone who has made incredible accomplishments. >> carter is expected to be easily confirmed by the u.s. senate. the navy blue angels are coming back to the jersey shore. after an eight year absence, the squad will once again take part in the atlantic city air show. thunder over the boardwalk is the city's signature summer event and one of the best air shows in the region.

>> and what about the seven day accuweather forecast? more importantly, the weekend accuweather forecast. >> wet start but sunday will be dry. it will be chilly and windy but it won't be raining on sunday but tonight storm tracker 6 live double scan showing that we have some pockets of generally light rain. the steadiest rain is in our north and west. coatesville right now lancaster you can see some of those little pockets of yellow, that's the steadier rain. it's moving towards west chester. if you're heading to the west chester christmas parade you definitely do want to take the rain gear and farther up to

the north, you can see how that's freezing rain in the northern part of the northeast extension heading up towards the poconos, i-81 and i do have reports from our "action news" viewers that even though crews are out treating the roads, they are very icy, so that winter weather advisory continues for the poconos until 1 o'clock in the morning. the accuweather highlights show that, yes, we do have a saggy -- a soggy saturday -- could be saggy as well and tuesday i am tracking the concern for a coastal storm. future tracker showing through tomorrow night though we're looking at generally about three-quarters of an inch to an inch of rain across our viewing area so this will be a pretty good soaking and most of this will be occurring in the afternoon and the evening hours. then heading into tuesday, i'm tracking the possibility of a coastal storm. at this point looks like there could be some coastal flooding, some heavy rain across our viewing area, 1 to 2 inches. looks like there's a lot of warm air so the best threat of any snow, any accumulating snow would be across the poconos but this is still

several days out. it all does depend on track. right now in philadelphia it's 44 degrees. millville 43. wilmington also 43. sea isle city 45 degrees. allentown and reading a cold rain, 34 degrees and temperatures are slowly creeping up in the poconos now up to 31 degrees but again, that freezing rain continues across the poconos. satellite 6 along with action radar slowing that we have this train of moisture moving across our region and this is all ahead of a low pressure that's moving across the tennessee valley and as we zoom out with that, this is what has the real heavy rain and this is what will be moving in on saturday afternoon and saturday night. so, future tracker showing if you're heading outer tonight you want to take the umbrellas. steadiest rain will be north of philadelphia but even across south jersey and delaware we're looking at some areas of drizzle. heading into tomorrow morning, it will be cloudy with perhaps light rain or drizzle. steady heavy rain moves in in the afternoon.

at 2 o'clock you can see pockets of heavy rain continuing through saturday night if you're heading to a holiday party you want to take the rain gear. as we head into sunday morning look at what happens. it's out of here in the wee hours of the morning and that means dry conditions for the eagles game. if you're heading to the linc though you want to bundle up. partly sunny skies at kick off, 43 degrees dropping down to 38 by the fourth quarter. factor in the winds ouster north-northeast 12 to 22 miles per hour, wind chills will be in the 30's so it's a bit of a trade-off. it will be dry but it will be chilly. so, for tonight, cloudy and damp with periods of light rain and drizzle, 35 degrees. in the cooler suburbs 41 for center city. so temperatures in some parts of the region will actually be rising overnight and the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, morning drizzle, afternoon rain, some of that very heavy. 55 degrees. sunday the sunshine is back. it's bright sunshine but it's windy and cool, 46 degrees. monday into tuesday watching that threat of a coastal storm and then behind it temperatures will be on the
