i'm don scott. we're following breaking news at this hour. in run are not police activity has shut down all lanes of the baltimore-washington parkway at i-195 right near the airport. there are reports multiple shots have been fired at cars there. there are no immediate reports of any injury. police are searching for whoever was doing it. we have crews working the story. the two major violent incidents that happened right after baltimore city's big fourth of july celebration, at this hour there have not been any arrests. we're live outside police headquarters. mike hellgren has the latest.

>> reporter: good afternoon. the person who was murdered, joseph calo, has a one-year-old daughter and was visiting her shortly before he was stabbed. the 4-year-old victim is continuing to be treated at this hour. the four-year-old is now walking after being shot in the leg at light and pratt streets at the inner harbor to watch the fireworks. his shooting was one of several violent incidents that unfolded during and after the fourth of july celebration despite a beefed-up police presence. >> just an inch more and it would have hit the main artery. all he's saying is, mommy, i got shot. a bad guy shot me. i cannot believe i got shot. >> reporter: police believe a stray bullet hit him and have no suspects. >> we had incredible deployments down there and literally feet away from where this incident occurred. >> i'm angry that some idiot

just didn't have the brains or the common knowledge around children at a family even that's supposed to be for children and people to enjoy themselves can just discharge a gun so easily regardless if he did not mean to shoot anybody. >> joseph calo who is 26 and was visiting from alabama was murdered, stabbed in the neck with a bottle. police are looking for this man, their prime suspect in the killing that stem trd a fight near mccormick and schmick's that turned out of control. >> this is ridiculous. people come down to the harbor to enjoy themselves. >> more video from youtube shows the police presence. this fight broke out five minutes into the fireworks. police are reviewing their response and staffing to see if anything could have been done to prevent the mayhem. during the event city police had help from state police and mta. they extensively utilized technology including the city watch camera system and gps track ok officers' cell phones

reasonable doubt. >> they did not show us how caylee died. that was important. no one could answer that. >> cass caves convicted for lying to police. she has been this jail for nearly three years. many experts think the judge will set her free tomorrow for time served. >> had she just been tried on those four cases, she never would have gotten four year in jail. >> the prosecution admits it's disappointed and so are many of the trial watchers from all around the country. the verdict sparked strong emotions. >> she can run but she can't hide. god will get her. >> the defense claimed casey anthony's father staged a coverup after caylee accidentally drowned in the family's swimming pool. casey anthony's parents left the courtroom right after the verdicts in a written statement, they called their daughter's defense strategy

baseless buptd the jury's decision was fair based on the evidence. back to you. >> an attorney for casey anthony's parents said george anthony received death threats since that verdict came in. an anne arundel county plan is expected to plead guilty in a peeping tom case today. charless novak is charged with secretly taping women as they changed their clothes inside their homeses. he was arrested in december after a woman says she spotted him in her garage. a search of his home turned up evidence linking him to other burglaries. pleading guilty, another baltimore city police officer accepts a plea deal for his part in a huge corruption scandal. >> that's right. officer louise nunez is one of 17 officers charged in the scandal involving illegal kickbacks. according to federal documents

the 33-year-old admitted to taking part in a scheme to direct motorists involved in accidents to the majestic towing company instead of a city approved towing company. the officers allegedly received thousands of dollars in kickbacks. three other officers have already pleaded guilty. by taking a plea deal, they will likely receive less severe punishments. sentencing is scheduled for october 21. the field is set for the upcoming contest to be mayor of baltimore. state senator katherine pew filed her paperwork yesterday. city councilman karl stokeseses has bowed out. he intents to run again for his current seat on the council. we're not seeing much in the way of sunshine today. it's pretty humid. what's next on nature's agenda?

the perjury trial for roger clemens is officially underway. he arrived in court today as both sides began jury selection. roger clemens is charged with perjury and obstruction of congress for comments he made denying the use of steroids in 2008. prosecutorses plan to call his former trainer to say he personally injected the pitcher with hgh. congressional leaders from both parties have accepted an flf taigs to the white house as they try to hammer out a deal on the debt ceiling. the president called on democrats and republicans to approach the negotiations with open minds. so far republican leaders have refused to budge on proposed toll hikes while democrats refused large spending cuts. >> we both have to sit down and be honest. each side has to give. to say there is no person so
