slow drive through san jose in this spot right here, north 101. the camera as folks are approaching mckee. i turned the camera, can't see the crash because it's behind some trees, but this is the backup north of 680. this is northbound 101 from 680 toward alum rock. that's what's causing the issue there. sounds like the car is moving from the fender bender they had, two cars at the northbound side in the second lane. so they have to move it off to the right-hand shoulder. that's why there's all the slowing right there. the rest of the south bay is okay. expect northbound 280 to be a relief valve as folks take north 280 to north 87. we also look over here toward the east bay, south 880, an earlier crash at whipple cleared to the shoulder. southbound out of hayward and into union city slows down into the 50s, but starting to steady

6:48 am
1999. it's going to be a hot day today, not even as hot as where we're headed. this is what we're expecting, near 100 degrees friday through tuesday. poor air quality. limit your outdoor activity. if you've been putting often doing that gardening, you want to do it early. it's going to be very, very hot between about 12:00 and 7:00 p.m. i would say stay inside if you can, close those shades, make your house nice and cool if you can. we're not goings to get much wind to cool us off either. 75 degrees in pacifica today. the place to be is the beach. 78 degrees is certainly bearable at half moon bay. down in santa cruz, 87 degrees headed your way. it is going to be a warmup even at the coast with temperatures closer to 90. 92 in shan cruz over the weekend. 87 in fremont, 97 degrees today in livermore. take you through your seven-day

6:50 am
approaching the 680/280 interchange. from capital expressway to the scene things are backed up. folks who have a choice between 101 and 87 they're coming up and now it's slower from capital expressway, northbound 87 into downtown as well. that ripple effect 280 is showing traffic. there you go, how tightly interconnected our freeways are in the bay area. 880, the sob side shows a volume of increase which is typical. northbound, reports came in of a crash%qñ around dakota over tows the dumbarton bridge which moves smoothly. south of the san mateo bridge, we had a crash at whipple, south 880 is now clearing. as far as the lanes, the slower traffic out of high ward and into union city. typical build. we're looking over toward the peninsula side as well.
