9:01 pm
we they said i will be running. i will announce what i will be doing sometime prior to june. which i've been consistently saying. >> sean: where are you now in the decision-making process? >> as you werexu the first one that told me2 watching your show and i'm saying gee-whiz, i'm number one. the polls have been amazing. cnn came out with a poll which was phenomenal. i'm in first place with governor huckabee, who is a good guy. it is always bad. you are supposed to compete. i do%ñ better we i don't like the people. but i happen to like him. and i like a couple of the other candidates. >> sean: you said you are barack obama's worst nightmare, why? >> i understand him. i understand what is going on. i understand the mind set. they do not want to run me.ía i get it and he doesn't get it. that speech yesterday was an outrage that was a political
9:02 pm
speech. that means he's running. and that was his first speech. i thought it was ridiculous. raising taxes. really not doing anything having to do with the deficit i thought it was an outrage. look, he's beenx> horrible president. i said the worst president was jimmy carter. guess what? jimmy carter goes to second place. barack obama has been the worst president ever in the history of of this country, barack obama is number one. he had his little minion go onkv television -- >> sean: david plouffe. >> david however nobody knows how to pronounce his name. he made a statement oh -- >> sean: he said you have zero chance you would get hired by the american people. >> yet i just won the independent vote.@j i was tied statistically with obama the only republican that
9:03 pm
was. and i haven't even done anything. i haven't said i'm running. so, -- the poles, -- the polls, one of the pollsters said one of the reasons i don't go higher is a lot ofñz people done think i'm running. they think i'm having a good time talking to people like you. you've become a friend. the fact is, a lot of people in the polls don't vote for me, because they think i'm having a good time. they think i'm promoting "celebrityím apprentice" which i'm not. i don't need to. >> sean: there's a poll over half a million. >> that was the best of all. >> sean: that was the best. second in new hampshire in a poll that came out, romney first and you second. >> and he live there is. >> sean: he's from massachusetts. the question is, why do you think7o your message is resonating? what do you think it is about you at this moment that you come it off nowhere, you say
9:04 pm
i'm thinking about running for president and these poll numbers go up. what do you think is happening? >> i think i'm known as a really good business pan. and i am. by the way, if i run, will have to disclose my opinion finances.l] and my finances are phenomenal. much better than anyone knows. they know i'm rich. i've made a lot of great decisions. that will be disclosed if and when i decide to run. and i look forward to that. it will be a very positive thing. >> sean: let me ask you about the nomination. you are running for the republican nomination, if you run >> correct >> sean: you describe yourself politically as a conservative? >> i'm a very conservative person. i'm conservative with a big heart. >> sean: recently, you said if you don't get the nomination you would run as an independent. you are asking republicans -- >> i didn't say that i said i would think about that. the question is what happens if you don't get the
9:05 pm
nomination? this was before the new polls came out that showed me leading. they said what happens if you running? i said yes as an independent. >> sean: that would be the greatest gift to barack obama and -- >> unless i won. >> sean: in reality f you are a conservative and you didn't get the nomination you are running against another conservative, you split the vote barack obama sails into the presidency. as an independent. i wouldn't do that, if i lost i would get a tremendous amount of votes and which would take them from the republican party, which would be terrible. unless i thought i could really win as an independent, i would not do that. because i wouldn't want to come in second or third and >> sean: if you thought that itéb would hurt the chances of defeating obama, you would not do it? >> only way i would run would be if i didn't get the republican nomination and felt through polls and other things that are good and scientific and seem to work over the years, i've been watching lots
9:06 pm
of polls, they seem to be accurate, amazingly, right? if i thought iem could absolutely win as an independent i would do it. if i didn't it would be devastating because you wouldn't have a republican in. so i would have a real problem. unless i felt certain of victory. >> sean: what does it mean for you, we you say that you are a conservative person? how do you describe that? values. i think i really have a great solid strong value. i love this country. i feel so strongly about this country. i love people that work. this weekend i'm making a speech in boca raton, florida, it was supposed to be 200 i was speaking. now ie8 hear they have thousands -- it is going to be in some park. which makes me feel good. but i really relate to the tea party people. somebody was asking me, in fact every report asks do you think of the tea party?
9:07 pm
i said i think they are great. they are workers. they loft country. service, they've made everyone think. they were the first that up the deficit. we were borrowing more and more money them were the first ones that made democrats and republicans think. so, i think the tea party has served an unbelievable and >> sean: how do you describe, some republicans are stating wait a minute he wants the republican nomination, you have donated to harry reid, chuck schumer, other democrats. why? >> i get along with everybody. can i be honest, you are a pretty conservative guy. don't you think it is time. i get along with everybody. i havemq plenty enemies as you probably know. my worst enemy will be obama. the fact is, i get along with people. i also come from a place that is almost exclusively democratic. i'm in new york. the republicans don't even
9:08 pm
think they have a chance. maybe i would have a chance. but they don't even think"f about new york. i've lived in new york. this building this tower and many other great towers are in new york. everyone is democratic. what am i going to do contribute to republicans? one thing i'm not stupid. am i gonna contribute to a republican when they run most they can get is 1% of the vote. i think more importantly, this question will always be asked. i've contributed to schumer, i've known schumer for many, many years and i have a good relationship with him. the fact is, i think it is along. >> sean: our weeklyá analysis of the obamamania media's liberal bias. time for this week's installment of media mash. but first more of my interview with donald trump. he discusses his potential primary opponents and much more. don't go away.

>> sean: welcome back. we continue gcqh more of my interview with donald trump. >> who were the people you might be running against. you mentioned you like huckabee. >> i have a problem. they've treated me so nicely. everyone said such nice things. santorum said something nice. >> sean: newt gingrich did, sarah palin did.mj >> newt gingrich last month joined my club in washington. a little before he heard about this in all fairness. >> sean: he said something nice about you this weekend. >> that is nice. i wish i didn't like 'em, does that make sense? they are all saying nice things about me. the truth is, i watched
9:13 pm
pawlenty theñ other day. i don't know him but he said these wonderful things about donald trump. i can't now say this or that. the good news is i don't think barack obama is going to say nice things. i think i'm a great negotiator. i think i will do a better job because i'm a great negotiator. us off, why and i know how to solve the problem. as far as yesterday is concerned and what is going on over the last couple of days, the numbers aren't as bad as you are thinking what is happening is, if you take away 300 billion dollars, where china is ripping us and take every nation in the world, who is makingc' a huge -- of let's use the word profit on the united states. when you start equalizing that. not even to make money, just to neutralize it, china shouldn't be making 300 billions on us, this year. >> sean: how do you get to -- >> therefore the numbers aren't as bad as what you are
9:14 pm
seeingú we are losing so much money. every country we deal with we are losing money. japan had its horrible accident, they said to me, what do you think? i said they've treated us like fools for many years. but still,ú%9 should help them. aren't i nice a guy? >> sean: you are a nice guy. >> they treated us for fools for years and years. they treated us like a bunch of dopes. >> sean: would -- would you deal with entitlements? >> you have to deal with it. i have a lot of respect for paul ryan. i worry he's far out in front.q' the democrats are going to take that medicare word which to a lot of people mean seniors. they are going todç say senior, senior. the republicans have to be careful not to fall into a democratic trap. >> sean: that trap is? >> the trap is medicare --
9:15 pm
>> sean: being mean towards the elderly. >> me, i'm protecting, i don't care what plan the republicans put, i'm protecting the seniors. the seniors are in a certain way the heart of this country. and i'm protecting the seniors. >> sean: look discretionary something 12% of the budget. the real money the trillions are in social security, medicare, medicaid there has to be some adjustment. >> it has to be done with both parties together. it has to bel% done together. you can't have the republicans get too far ahead of this issue. they are going to lose elections. hey, if i run i don't want to lose this election. because i can do a lot for this country and i don't want to lose this election. i don't think again, ryan is great. should get too far ahead of this issue. i know what they are doing. they love having somebody even talk about the word medicare. they are going to say, they
9:16 pm
are going to cut medicare. even though these guys will end up doing it, you have an election to win. i think the republicans are too far out ahead. you know,lá this debate is supposed to be led by our president. >> sean: he punted. >> you have to be very careful that the republicans don't go too far ahead in front because they are going to lose the big election if that happens. >> sean: you become president, how long would it take to you balance the budget? amount of progress, some of this stuff, but it wouldn't be the kind of numbers -- look, we're losing so much money. not only money, we are losing jobs. china is taking our jobs. they are not only taking our money, but they are taking our now that means the ecuhzáitz never come back. the best thing for balancing the budget is to have a strong economy. the economy can never come back if we are going to always have high unemployment.
9:17 pm
>> sean: we have a beautiful view of central park. 9/11 happens here. radical islam, the president when he first got into office went on an apology tour.x >> unbelievable. >> sean: the question is, do you think he understands the real dangers that led up to 9/11, 3,000 people killed in this city? you recently spoke about the qur'an, you said it gives you a negative vibe. you got some criticism for it. >> i didn't see the criticism. obviously there is!; something going on. every time you turn on a television, 100 people are killed in a grocery store in iraq. everyday a bomb goes off. i see the wounded. i spent a lot of time with the wounded, our great soldiers. they come back with a missing arm, no2j legs for what? for what? i will say this, some people think it is harsh, and i think it is common sense. a lot of people think it is great.
Check
9:18 pm
when i first said it, which was one with week ago many we go to iraq. we spend 1.5 trillion and our cities are dying all over the have money. we spend 1.5beyond. iraq has the second largest oilfields if in the world. 15 trillion worth of oil,vv
9:19 pm
iraq. but they are going to take the oil. they are going to have the second best oilfields in the world that we made possible with our soldiers, thousands of peopleja dead, wounded and 1.5 less importantly, 1.5 trillion dollars. i said simply. if it is me, we take the oil. in the old days when you win a country, you win a country. now with our stupid people, we win a country, we lose money, we lose soldiers, we lose lives and then we leave. that they pay for their liberation? >> they pay us back the 1.5 trillion. >> sean: a special budget edition of media mash is still to come. next donald trump sounds off on the anointed one's relationship with is reach the looming iranian threat and the [ cricket chirping ]

>> sean: welcome back. here is more of my interview with possible presidential candidate, donald trump. iran's nuclear threat is real. the way our relationship with israel is strained. i think we are getting to a point where the iranian nuclear facilities have got to be taken out at some point. if you are president the israelis see the need for their national security gotta take it out. would you support them? do you think it is in our best geographic, political interests to do so? >> first, i was the ground marshal of the israeli day
9:24 pm
parade 10 years ago when believe me, it was dangerous. because there was a little war going on. i walked down fifth avenue. jewish friends of mine still remember that day. i have a park named after me in israel that i donated. and i'm a big find of israel. i will say this i have so many jewish friends that are big obama fans. and they are supporting obama and giving tremendous amounts, wealthy guys, live in new york, wealthy, hedge funds, real estate guys. they are supporting obama. obama is terrible for israel. he's terrible for israel. >> sean: i agree. >> it is interesting with obama if you look at wisconsin. he made a pledge he was going to march in wisconsin. he was going to put on his walking shoes and march with those teamers. where is he? he's all talk. unfortunately, he's also action but the wrong action. >> sean: you mentioned recently that you are a christian that you go to
9:25 pm
church. how important is your faith to donald trump? >> very important. i'm a prod stan presbyterian. probably business questioner than i should be. i'm protestant, christian, presbyterian. i'm pro-life. i'm against gay marriage. not easy to do in new york. i have changed views on different things over the years. >> sean: like? >> like pro-life. i was always torn by it. i'm very much to take the other extreme, very much, very much in favor of the death penalty, especially for terrorists and especially for people that, you know killers that you see so many where the girls are being killed then they capture these guys. i'm so for the death penalty i think as far as terrorism is concerned. death penalty with a speedy trial. look at the guy that knocked down the world trade center. they are still negotiating.
9:26 pm
last week i heard they are finally going to try him in a military camp, after years. so he'll go for years and years probably die of old age before they try him. i'm for speedy, but fair trials. but speedy trials, speedy. >> sean: you support military tribunals over bringing him to new york? >> absolutely. what is the purpose of bringing him into new york? you will have riots, this, that. you have the military. our military is great. i wouldn't cut the military. i would increase the military. with me, we would have the strongest -- i hate when they say we are gonna cut the military. why, because china is taking all our money? colombia they made four billion dollars on us last year in south america, fourth largest in south america. >> sean: who are our past presidents that you admire most? >> i really like and knew a little bit ronald reagan and i really liked him.
9:27 pm
not only his policies, smart guy and so much smarter -- i always sort of have to laugh to myself when people try and criticize that level of intelligence. i loved his style. i loved what he represented. i said there's our president. i would see him sometimes, he once gave a speech, i think it was at the lincoln memorial. he was dressed in a tuxedo. i said, you know there's something to that. there's our president. i thought he represented something very special for this country. i was a much more special time. what i loved also about him, no games. when jimmy carter lost the hostages when they were in iran, they would still be there. reagan said, essentially, they will be back the first day -- they were let go the next day. because as i say, it is the
9:28 pm
messenger. people say what would you do to opec? they wouldn't be there if it wasn't for us. it is the messenger. i have business people i deal with all the time. i can send one guy into a room and another guy say the same thing one guy comes back with the bacon the other doesn't, all the time. >> sean: you would drill in the 48 states build nuclear facilities and refineries? absolutely. i will tell new, nuclear, i say that you have to be a little flexible in life, you can't just say boom. i'm a big driller. with care. i've gotten many environmental awards. i build great golf courses and buildings, i get a lot of awards for what i do. i know the environmental thing probably better than anybody. i also know it is carried to an extent that is insane. i've seen jobs stopped that would have employed thousands, but they can because there's a piece of grass they found -- >> sean: there's a turtle egg. >> i have seen incredible
9:29 pm
developments with tremendous job producing capabilities stopped, many times because of swamp, a little piece of grass like this that doesn't even look good. i've seen things stopped environmentally that are absolutely -- i really play the game at a high level. i have many environmental consultants. when they tell me why we have to do this and that and then they laugh. and i say this is re-- ridiculous. they say yeah, but that's how we make our money. they go to albany and washington and make it impossible so we have to hire them to get around rules and regulations. it is hurting our country. you go to china they are filling in a section of the ocean to bill a city. i say to the guys doing it, how long did it take to you get your environmental permits? they don't know what i'm talking about. they go in is the ocean. filling in a section, a quarter of a mile by a quarter
9:30 pm
of a mile, big. i say in order to bill other things, a lot of things, in order to build cities. when i say, because we are so used to it if you drop a pebble into the hudson you get the electric chair. here they are filling -- you see thousands of drugs -- you see thousands of trucks, lined up miles long, dumping.
