I've looked over a few of these things. If you are using an access point you should make sure it allows for 'client-mode'.

As for me, it looks like I'm going to link in with a wet11 and a 24db parabolic dish. The WET11 will be connected to the WAN port of another linksys router, which will perform NAT. Then, I'm going to configure our local squid proxy to know about that alternate gateway and see how it goes. Eventually I'll figure out how to buy/lease the latest IOS and install it on this used cisco 4500 I have lying in my garage.
