matt delucia is live. i know you just got on the scene, why are they there? >> still trying to find out what is going on out here but we do know that the spca and philadelphia police are still out here and they're investigating. several dogs that they brought out just in the past 30, 45 minutes. in fact, some of those dogs are in this white van here. two vans that are actually containing some of these dogs right now and we do have some video that we shot within the past 15 to 20 minutes that we can see dogs inside and in the cages right now. we also saw some of the investigators inside this home here in the 2200 block. they have been in there with flashlights and picking up evidence and bringing it outside. in fact, just before we went on the air here, they brought out a treadmill that presumably was being used for these dogs. this is being investigated right now as a dog fighting ring. we're expecting more information from the psca. some are still going into that home and i'll stay out here and gather more information. >>> new this morning, a house fire in p

matt delucia is live on the scene on mifflin street. matt, what have you learned? >> well, tracy, we just spoke with the pennsylvania spca and just to give you some perspective where we are, 2200 block of miflin street. this is the home being investigated right now. philadelphia police are out here with the spca conducting this investigation. what we know right now is that police were called out here around 11:00 last night. no one was inside this home, but they did find several pitbulls inside after obtaining a search warrant. you are seeing video of that right now of those dogs as they were in these two vans that are parked right out front. we're told about five adult pit w bulls along with eight puppies were found inside this house and several scarred and apparently used for fighting. one was missing an eye and the vets will be examining the dogs inside this house. some were chained to radiators and blood found and we, again, just spoke with spokesperson a few moments ago. here's what he explained what was found. >> these animals used for this type of activity.

nbc 10's matt delucia is live at the crash scene in westville. now, matt, you've learned a lot of new information from police on the scene there. >> reporter: yeah, christine. i just spoke with the police sergeant here from westville a few minutes ago. he tells me that a 26-year-old man was driving south here on delsea drive just past almonessen when he got involved in a crash here, rear-ended that tanker truck right there. it was empty at the time but would have been carrying some asphalt, but we're told by police that the man was driving at a high rate of speed. he was killed instantly. and right here on delsea drive, it's a major road out here. it's been shut down since about 3:00 this morning. that's when this accident happened. both directions have been shut down. we're told by police that the tanker driver was not injured. he's been out here answering questions from police. and they do plan to impound that tanker just as part of the investigation. now, as far as reopening this road, the cleanup is under way. police tell me that they're brin
