[ laughter ] he had one of those. and it's -- it's sort of, it's about her hopes and dreams in the weeks leading up to abraham's assassination. >> seth: and you had an idea where you would play mary todd lincoln. >> yes. >> seth: and then, how much research did you do? >> i did -- less than no research. [ laughter ] i actively forgot things that i knew about mary todd lincoln. >> seth: so, your whole idea was "i'm going to write this play based on the things i was taught years ago without doing more leg work?" >> well, what i was worried about was that the audience -- you know, people are stupid, seth. >> seth: sure, sure.
