let's bring in our chief meteorologist, jeff ranieri. jeff, what are you seeing? well, some of that early summerlike sizzle back in the forecast. as we head through tomorrow. let's take a look at those temperatures. we had today. well above the averages. we got to 89 in santa rosa. the average 78 also up to 88 in concord livermore right there at 86 now wasn't good enough for widespread records, but now with the official numbers coming in, we actually did tie a record in santa rosa reaching that 89, so again, tying it that old record, back in 2002. so as we head through tomorrow, high pressure keeps the storm track well off to the north and allows all this warm air to move in from the desert southwest. so we're going to start it off in the morning, 50s and 60s. then as we head through the noon hour, some high clouds move in. tomorrow will be up to 87 by 2 p.m. and then some low 90s on the way through our inland valleys. once we hit that afternoon. now not going to be nearly as hot at the coastline. we still have that ocean breeze with 50s and 60s. i'm back with a f

jeff ranieri is here now to talk about our heat up this week. as we get going. it's going to get hot, right? it is. and we're going to see some of the hottest weather we've seen in about seven months here across the bay area starting to slide into some 90s in that forecast. and i want to continue our climate coverage tonight and take a look at our snowpack and compare it to last year. and wow, last year it was record setting on so many fronts, not only the snow in the sierra, but of course the rain across the bay area, to date this time last year, we were still averaging 381% of normal across california . now this year we came in with an above average season, but the snow melt has already started, so our numbers are quite a bit lower than last year. take a look. and we're at 82% for the northern sierra, central sierra 42 and southern sierra 32. so this is about average. this is where we should be. but again last year it was so record setting. those numbers were much, much higher. now the point i really want to underscore tonight is with that snow melt happening

let's bring in our chief meteorologist, jeff ranieri. jeff what is the timeline for this latest storm? well, i really see this hitting as we head through tomorrow morning and let's first take a look at those temperatures today. we're all out in it. we had that sunshine really comfortable 75 in santa rosa 79. concord, 75 in livermore and san jose at 76. but that storm system, it is knocking on the door here, so to speak. and this one is going to pack a punch. so it's already starting to bring rain up towards the pacific northwest. we'll take you to the closer radar view right now. and some rain now approaching the northern coastline. it's going to take a little time to get here, but we really think we'll start to get that rain developing through marin, napa, sonoma counties around 5:00 in the morning. and then this will start to move towards san francisco and stay up towards the north bay through about 7 a.m. and notice those areas of yellow and orange. that is some very heavy downpours that will eventually make it throughout the bay area
