you mentioned, senator duckworth, this is an issue in illinois as well. larger communities often have extensive teams of experts, including trained operators, engineers and chemists, while smaller communities face the regulatory burdens of the same complex systems, albeit smaller in scale. they often only have one operator doing multiple jobs. it is very typical in my state. these factors reinforce the need for increased flexibility and relief for these communities. this past week, wyoming faced some challenging weather. i missed two days here because i could not make it back. i could not even get to my house on the ranch in cheyenne. had to stay in town, dig out just to get to the streets. we had between 31 and 55 inches of snow. and it was tremendous. mark pepper, the executive director of the wyoming association of rural water systems, shared with my office some of the work he and his team had to do to make sure water continued to flow to our residents residence during this storm. one of his recent emails to one of my staffers reads "again, sorry for t

what the senator from illinois said right now is also incorrect. the senator from illinois said this amendment would halt the payments that are going out. this amendment doesn't do anything of the sort. this amendment restricts sending payments to people who are here illegally. when the senator from illinois said he would love to do that, with all due respect, that doesn't withstand even the slightest bit of scrutiny because if he would love to do that, all he had to do was not object and the american citizens, the people who are here legally would all get their $1,400 checks, get it on the exact same time frame but those here illegally would not. today's democratic party supports sending checks to millions of illegal immigrants. they have justified it as the senator from illinois did by falsely claiming none of them are getting checks. those are not the facts as the newsweek fact check makes clear. and i would note that a bill that democratic senators tried to push, denominated h.r. 1, would compound that by allowing millions of illegal immigrants
