and this afternoon president trump shaking hands greeting students who survived last week's masser in parkland, florida. many getting emotional as they pleaded for action. >> i was born into a world where i never got to experience safety and peace. there needs to be a significant change in this country because this has to never happen again. >> my daughter has no voice. she was murdered last week and she was taken from us. how many schools, how many children have to get shot? it stops here with this administration and me. >> so what's next? the fred spoke to the students and parents about potential shoes from strictor background checks to raising the minimum age to buy an assault aisle from 18 to 21. national movie chain making a new rule to help keep people inside safe. no big bags allowed yes ladies that includes larger purchases

and it all starts tomorrow. let's get out to dave kinchen who joins us live in somerdale, new jersey to, night. dave. >> reporter: iain many people we talk to say it appears a sign of the times. but they also wonder some wonder if it goes too far. >> they should have potting up about that. >> we were the first to tell marcus james about the new limits of the size of bags allowed is the cinemark effective thursday at all cinemark locations around the country it's bringing up lots of questions. >> my wife, she got bag. you know, she has her pocketbook. >> i think we should have the right to bring things our bags in, you know, us women especially women we like to carry lot of things, you know. >> reporter: the new policy on the cinemark website says any bags or packages lar jenn than 12 by 12 by six will not be permitted inside. adding that staff reserve the right to check any bags brought in as means of enforcement. we picked up this box with similar dimensions to get a

better idea of the new policy. this is my standard work bag and as you can see, it look like it would simply be too big to take inside. >> checking them now a days is a good idea. >> yeah. >> because of all the things going on. >> especially with the heightened sense of emergency and everything going on with that latest shooting down in in order. i can understand but i mean as far as, upping, taking it to extreme on that kind of level, i don't know about all of that. >> reporter: it's still unclear how the theater chain plans to enforce the new rules fully but we do know they are exempting medical bags and diaper bags as well. back to you. good all right. dave. thank you. across the nation students walk out of the their classes to stand with the survivors from that shooting in florida. in voorhees, new jersey, students poured out of eastern regional high school in protest. they marched with the hope that someone will hear their voice. the message to protect our children in schools.

>> kids and parents they're co coming to school not feeling good. not feeling safe. it should be a safe environment. >> it's scary from the time i started this career to where we're at now. >> at this camden county high school armed officer patrols the front door while two others keep watch outside but some think teachers should also carry in case they need to return fire at an attacker new warning tonight before you run into to grab that coffee tomorrow morning. police say crooks are watching and waiting to steal your car. it's happened more than once at a local wawa. our chris o'connell is in new castle county with details. >> reporter: a lot of us do this more than we'd like to admit. we saw it tonight at the wawa store here in delaware. you may stop to get some gas. stop in the convenience store and leave your keys in the car. some near delaware did just that but found out win seconds that was a mistake. it only takes seconds and police say that's all it's taking for

crooks stealing cars from this wawa owing gel ton road in newark, delaware. in all of the cases the cars were left running unattended with the keys inside. >> i'm sorry to say they kind of ask for it when they leave their keys in it. >> reporter: it happens more than you might think. do you have your car keys on you? >> no. >> reporter: where are they? >> in my car. report roar this woman did exactly what police say not to do. especially after three cars were stolen from this very lot. all happening between februar february 9th and 17th in the early morning rush of gas and coffee runs. the city of dover also warning about the same crimes. >> people are in the store generally less than five minut minutes. they're league they're car in the parking lot while they go nside when they come back out the car is gone. >> we found quite a few people who say they've done it too. >> take my keys and my phone with me. >> reporter: never leave them >> no. >> reporter: not once? >> no.

well, maybe once. if it's cold outside. >> reporter: police can't say yet if the thefts are connected and are pouring through surveillance video. as for customers here, they're now thinking twice. >> promise me you'll lock your car next time. >> yes. >> reporter: actually here in newark and other municipalities there are ordinances prohibiting drivers from idling their car for more than a minute at a time. but police say it's more about common sense. in newark, delaware, chris o'connell fox 29 news. ♪ breaking news right now out of city's fern rock area. 23-year-old woman was shot and killed much police say they got the call just after 8:30 tonight to broad and grinch streets when they got there they found a van that was crashed. a driver and side and then shot. she died at the scene. also in that van five other people including three kids. they're all okay. officers are looking for surveillance video in that area. so far though there have been no arrests. >> happening right now home in south philadelphia vandalized a

seventh grader in that home says he's getting bullied. his family said it began at school now it has followed him home. dave schratwieser joins us live outside philadelphia police headquarters. dave. >> reporter: iain the words spray painted across that family's front of their house are disturbing to say the least. the family believes their connected to a series of bullying incidents directed at their 12-year-old son. tonight police are investigat investigating. >> i feel really shocked and -- when 12 year old joseph walk outside his south philadelphia home wednesday morning on his way to school, he was stunned to find graffiti written across the front wall. >> i'm just shocked that they know my address and they did that. >> i heard him scream. i didn't know what happened. >> reporter: joseph's mom quickly came outside. when she stepped out the front door she saw the word snitching and die. then a racial slur which we've block out. >> to write the word die, i mean, that's really like taking

it far. you know, it wasn't even just like a racial comment. it was die. >> reporter: joe believes the graffiti is tied to bullying incidents directed at his son. he's a seventh grader at the mastery charter school. thomas campus in south philly which has a strict policy against bullying. >> we're trying to get him into another school. and he was on honor roll and now his grades are stopping to drop because it's consistent bullyi bullying. >> south detectives homeland security are now investigating a possible hate crime. police are also stationed at the school to prevent any further incidents. city cleanup crews removed the graffiti on the home. >> god for bid if they, you know, retaliate and start shooting at hour house. we're really concerned about that. >> i really hope that they lock them up. i really do. >> reporter: spokesperson for the school says the allegations of bullying at the school have been investigated by detectives and determined to be unfounded.

school spokesperson also says that mr. messino has been involved in several aggressive confrontations with personnel at the school and is now been barred from the campus. iain? >> dave, thank you. one big brother giving the ultimate gift to his younger siblings. he is saving the twin boys lives both are in dire need of a bone marrow transplant and four-year-old michael is their match as well as their super hero. what a great little guy, shawnette. >> this is totally amazing story, iain. his parents say that this is all he can talk about right now. he'll actually get to witness that life-saving moment after he donates his bone marrow. >> four-year-old michael looks like your average little boy. he loves to play with his toys and his older brother dominic. >> you can't cook ice cream. >> repoter: roar he's an extraordinary kid has made the decision to do something most of us haven't and may not ever do.

>> here you go. >> he's just like i'm a real life super hero eye i'm going to save my baby brother ups everyone just like aww. >> in two weeks michael will undergo a bone marrow transplant to save the lives of his four month old twin brothers santino and giovanni. >> he goes to the doctor when he gets the labs for the pre-testing and he said, look how strong i am and he gives them willing his arm to give blood work. >> the boys are at chop in need of the transplant because they were diagnosed with chronic granuloma tis disease a rare immune disorder only one if 500 people are diagnosed a year mostly boys and it can be dead deadly. doctors determined michael was a match for both of his twin brothers. few hours after the transplant, he will get to watch his baby brothers infused with his bone marrow. >> he could have said no, mommy, i'm too scared. i don't want to. but he is just ready to go. he's our real life super hero.

right now investigators in delaware county trying to figure out what started a fire that killed a 65-year-old man. massive flames spewing from a house on pitman avenue in collingdale. just after 6:00 this morning. that fire was so intense the house collapsed just as firefighters arrived on the scene crews found michael dead in his living room. >> he lived here for years. like we'd see him pass by sometimes. yeah, it's sad. >> i just was thinking maybe i can go in and help but it was too bad. >> flames also spread to a home next door. thankfully the couple who lives there was not hurt. it took firefighters almost an hour and a half to get those flames under control. surprising revelation on the wendy williams show the celebrity hot topic today the

i mean it is february and we do live in philly. kathy is here with your forecast at 11:00. >> but today it felt more like atlanta. >> right. >> or orlando. >> yeah, what a day indeed. with high temperatures in the 70s and 80s now temperatures are falling fast. it's pretty out there on the parkway. little bit breezy with a clear sky. winds are northerly look at this northerly wind component cooling down fast. reading was in the 80 today's. now 53. 55 in pottstown. 62 in wilmington and 61 degrees in philadelphia. as we look at the northeast and the midwest the cold is coming. pittsburgh 43. rochester, new york, 34 degrees. williamsport 47. so that cold is not that far away. cold front is already moved through. so as we go hour by hour, we will see the cooler temperatures settle in as well. ultimate doppler few spotty showers out that tonight. the same goes tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day because this cold front is going to be moving through and stall to our south. when it does that, areas of low

pressure weak disturbances will just ride along the front day by day bringing us periods of rain. it will be hard to time exactly when the rain will be coming through but we'll be a able to do that over the next couple of days with our future weather. how much rain to expect? well, by tomorrow evening about half an inch in philadelphia. then another wave of low pressure comes in and then quarter inch of rain will be moving in on friday. saturday just a chance of a few showers and then sunday some consistent rain so by the time we make it to sunday night we're talking about 2-inches of rain we're all well above normal for the month. finally this front will push on to the south and move out so we'll clear it out for next we week. so overnight tonight temperatures falling pretty quickly. 46 in philadelphia. 43 in allentown and trenton. 46 in wildwood and 49 in dover. so huge change. tomorrow will be about 30 degrees cooler than it was today. so a shock to the system. i mean, get ready. no more shorts and t shirts it's back to fleece or winter coats the high temperature 49 degrees. with that northeasterly win at

now, i couldn't disagree more. here's why. i understand the pro argument here. if this were the nba you wouldn't leave lebron sitting on the bench with two minutes ago. you want your best players out there and this would up the excitement for viewers as well but here's the thing. it's not just a rule change. it changes the entire sport. managers would have to change our strategies players at bat with a chance to make a name for themselves would be robs of those opportunities and the guys continue wally being subbed in would likely be used as a bargaining chip to get more money. the concept is good in theory but open bandoras bock. it's like adding foyer point line in basketball. it isn't the game at that point any more. >> kristen thanks much bad news for actors the california law that hid their ages online has been shut down. us district court says law violated i am db free speech rights. it lists credits and information like dates of birth for actors producers and crew. the union representing our artists worldwide it's acceptable to ban ages so they
