>> i've from center city in philadelphia this is fox 29 news at 11:00. parade preparation are underway. look at the crews working all day for the historic celebration and trying to move quick toll beat this. a nasty winter storm. we're talking snow, some ice and then rain for some of us. and the timing of it all really couldn't be any worse. just as kids are getting ready to head to school. good evening and thanks for joining us at 11:00. i'm iain page. several schools on a delay for tomorrow. check all those at fox29.com. kathy, most of our area under a winter weather advisory. >> we're talking about the snow moving in tomorrow morning, iain. you can see it on ultimate doppler a cold component to the storm an warm component. they'll converge. the warm air though will win out. there's not a high pressure system anchored to our north to keep the cold here. so that's the good news. let's talk about it.

we have a winter weather advisory through tomorrow morning. south jersey is included. philadelphia all the way to lehigh valley and winter storm warning for the poconos. we'll go hour by hour. you can see by 6am, the moisture is here. not everywhere but lightly falling to the north and west of philadelphia. philadelphia is on it by 7am and you can see a transition over to an icy mix even in the city by 9:00 and then it changes over to rain. could be a little bit of a break through 11:00 o'clock, 12:00 o'clock in philadelphia. but then here comes the heavy rain through the afternoon. highlighted in yellow and it's going to pour in the afternoon. how much snow up to an inch as you head toward philadelphia and adjacent suburb one to two in interior parts of our communities to the north and west. then two to four through upper bucks montgomery chester through the lehigh valley. four to sick in the pocono. changing over to rain even in the lehigh valley. the poconos could end as an icy mix. we'll continue to fine tune those snow amounts. parade weather coming you and another storm in the seven day forecast. iain we get through tomorrow

morning. we're home free. >> sounds good, kathy. thanks. the city home to champions now memorable celebration that has fans coming from all over. if you thought fans packed broad street after the nfc championship and super bowl just wait until thursday we're talking millions of people. fox 29's dave schratwieser joins us live in center city tonight. dave a party like this calls for serious security. >> reporter: no doubt about that. pretty cool sight here at art museum tonight. the stage is done. back it will right back there it look really nice ready to go. the work crews have moved down the parkway. i spoke with police commissioner richard ross tonight. he says the security package for this thursday's parade and celebration here is set to go. spotlights were glaring as crews worked into the night tuesday preparing art museum and parkway from a visit from the super bowl champion eagles. city officials say the crowd size could potentially surpass the pope's historic visit here. >> in deference to the pope, the eagles a long time in this city.

so i don't want to sound sacrilegious but for lot of people they've been waiting a long time. >> it's just an incredible moment for the city, the people and the team report roar clad in eagles jerry maryann and her dog made their way through the stage set up on the art museum steps anxious for a big party celebrating the world champions. maryann will wearing a vintage '80s eagle hat worn by her dad two years ago. >> i'll be representing that. he's here in spirit. >> i think everyone will come and have a good time and it's pretty early the drunkenness shouldn't be problem. under control.lice will have it- >> reporter: meanwhile police announced another arrest in connection with center city damage from sunday night's broad street celebration. tuesday afternoon police also released this video hoping to identify the eagles fans who ransacked a local store during the celebration on broad street. >> now you're going into somebody's business and destroying it. for no good reason.

>> i think it will be really rowdy but also very friendly crowd. >> reporter: well that's what everybody is hoping including commissioner ross. he says it will be all hands on deck for the security detail along the parade route on broad street and here on the parkway and at the art museum he says he's looking forward to good time. he hopes the crowd is. and he's urging everyone to just come haven't fun but remain peaceful. iain. >> let's hope they do, dave. thanks. kind of like getting a golden tick instead of going to chocolate factory getting a ride to the eagles parade. septa selling 50,000 independence passes for ten dollars. you don't have one? you won't taking regional rail on thursd thursday. but riders are being urged to take the broad street or market frankford line and they can ride those for free. septa says they want to make sure the commute is safe and easy for riders. more good news. the philadelphia parking authority says they will not be enforcing meters, kiosks or time limits on residential streets during the parade. that is good news. the ppa says they hope this will encourage parade goers to take

public transportation. well parents this week have tough decision. do you send your kids to school or do you stepped them to witness history? our shawnette wilson joins us live from newtown night. shawnette. >> reporter: iain, you know i talked to bunch of parents tonight and basically they say it isn't a dilemma at all. they say their kids will be at the parade excused absence or not because as you said it is history. >> we're going to the parade. no doubt. >> reporter: marie cook says it's a no brainer. a parade for the eagles first super bowl win, work and school not this thursday. >> school is very important to me and for my kids but this is perhaps a once in a lifetime opportunity and we won't miss it for the world. >> reporter: parents all over the area are faced with the decision to allow their kids to miss school or not. philadelphia public and catholic schools are closed. but some surrounding districts are grappling with the decision. chris noble's children are in the bethlehem school district and he says schools there will remain open. >> i don't think it's a dilemma. i would go once in lifetime

thing. my dater would be taken school for. >> council rocks allows students to take a an excused absence to attend the parade. >> it's taken me 50 years before i got to see it. >> brian is satisfied with the district's compromise his 14-year-old daughter madison is going to the parade. >> i think it's good that the school district is leaving the school open for those who want to attend school and given the option to go to the parade if they feel they want to. >> reporter: and one woman i spoke to who's child in the council rock stool district they will be taking advantage of the excused option. they'll at home and watch the parade from their couch. she thinks it will be too much much hassle to try to get down there. >> they're not going to school. shawnette thank you. no party just getting started

here on fox 29. all day parade coverage kicks off thursday with our "good day philadelphia" team. we'll join you a bit later fox 29 of course will not let you miss a single seconds of this parade of champions. it is history in the paying making thousands of upon thousands of fresh t shirts being printed to celebrate the eagles victory in the super bo bowl. one delaware county company cranking out those official super bowl champion shirts as fast as they're flying off the shirts. chris o'connell stopped by the facility to check out the process and joins us-tonight in prime mows, pennsylvania. chris? >> reporter: that is right, iain. did you ever wonder how those stores get altheas super bowl merchandise in the stores just hours after game time? well the answer is behind me. these doors. this is one of largest screen printing operations in the area. yeah this is the am pro, the principling presses here in clifton heights printing the official nfl super bowl merchandise. they've been working overtime.

12-hour shifts making super bowl champion t-shirts. some of these shirts were in stores by 6:00 a.m. yesterday morning. and they've been doing this for 45 years. they've done stanley cup shirts. they've done world series stuff. but this one, this super bowl order is the one they've been waiting for. >> we have done a lot of big events over the years, but this was the one we always talk about. we always said oh, my gosh f the eagles every won the super bowl can you imagine how many shirts we're going to print? >> reporter: and here it is. ere is the finished product. one of about 40,000 of just these designs alone that have gone out the doors into the stores and they're not surprised. they wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow morning there's another order waiting for them just in time for the victory parade, iain. >> absolutely, chris. all right. you wear that well. thank you man. eagles season is over of course they are world champs but after winning the super bowl the celebrations are just getting started tonight the sixers

honored the team at the wells fargo center. our dave kinchen was there and joins us live now in south philly tonight. dave? >> reporter: you know, in way, of course, the eagles and the sixers they are neighbors but you know what, they're all unthe same roof tonight and there was love all around. not one but two home teams in the house as some of the super bowl champion eagles o line ring the bell at the 76ers wizards game while many here are still processing the magic that happened on sunday. >> i'm still a little numb from it. it was very emotional sunday for a lot of you. >> buckley family came over from gilbertsville deck out in their eagles green specifically for this occasion. and a chance to see their hometown heroes up close. >> took the kids out school made an education trip and eagles and sixers at the same time. >> reporter: a lot through our generation people that brought me up, taught me the sport and what it meant to be eagles fan just to see it happen really just exciting and beyond words

>> happening now the search is on for 23-year-old south jersey woman who's been missing for days. have you seen this woman? police say at a manny johnson disappeared friday. she was last seen near the barnegat motel on route nine in barn nat township. she was wearing a black north face winter coat, pants and some brown timberland boots she's known to hang out near trenton and hamilton.

amtrak engineer in that deadly train crash in 2015 is now heading to trial. a up? has reinstated involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment charge against 34 year old brandon boss city january. last year a different judge throughout those charges ruling that the evidence pointed to a tragic accident and not negligence. pennsylvania prosecutors appealed and today judge catherine lewis ruled that the earlier judge was wrong. when the train round add curve at more than twice the speed limit it derailed and killed eight people and injured more than 150 others. we are following breaking news out taiwan right now two people are dead and more than 200 are hurt after a powerful earthquake. authorities are reporting more than one is 40 missing. take a look at this video authorities say the 6.4 magnitude quake toppled this hotel. buildings like this one barely standing right now rescue workers are searching for any survivors that could be trapped inside the building. a tsunami warning left people panic.

not going to win out. we will see the rain moving in. clean up the streets little bit. right in time for the parade of course on thursday. ultimate doppler showing it's getting closer. southern storm with warm southerly winds and the rain, some sleet and some snow. northern part of the storm that's going to be bringing the snow and pretty early. you can see this midweek mess as it unfolds this is big storm for new york, the ski resorts of new england and into maine and for the rest of us, it's going to be a bit of nuisance come tomorrow morning. right in time for school and work. it's 12 in the poconos. 31 in philadelphia. and 29 in wilmington. so everyone below freezing. so starting off as snow when the moisture moves in. wind speeds pretty much light across the region. so that's not going to be an issue. and we'll watch this move into tomorrow morning when most of us are sleeping or just waking up. so 5am, south jersey and delaware a little bit of a mixed bag there but by 6:00, 7:00 o'clock it's pretty much everywhere. snow in philadelphia north and west. the pink is the icy mix and of course rain to the south warming

temperatures coming up through south jersey and delaware. in philadelphia we stay in the snow and the mix until about 8:00 or 9:00 and transition to rain but still messy to the north and west at 9:00 a.m. the advisory going on and then we see heavy rain mowing in by the lunch hour. that's highlighted in yellow and that continues into the afternoon. and then by the evening rush we still have rain it will be drying out the good news it's windy behind this front and the wind will help to dry out the roads before we bottom out into the 20s tomorrow night. so don't have to worry about any ice come parade day. as far as snow accumulations less than an inch up to philadelphia and close to our pa suburbs on the northwest side. one to 2-inches through the central part of bucks, montgomery and chester. and then two to four in the upper parts of chester, bucks and montgomery up through the lehigh valley so the farther away you get from philadelphia the more snow you'll see. lehigh valley two to four. and the poconos at least four to six but all of us even up to allentown will be transitioning to rain by the afternoon hours.

minnesota, the question was asked, if he had thought about his future. aka does he plan on leaving philly? his answer, he loves philadelphia and just wants to soak in the moment. there is no quarterback controversy. carson wentz is the eagles guy but nick foles is going nowhere. here's why. first off foles is under contract for the eagles until the, through the 2018 season and since wentz tore his acl back in december he'll be just nine months out for the start of the season. honestly he may not be good to go. so there is a good chance we'll scenic foles start for the eagles again in september. i get that money talks and that may be a factor into the conversation but here's the thing. nick foles came back to the eagles because he genuinely loves philly. he says he loves working with carson wentz every day and he wants to continue to do that. so for now the eagles are just going to continue to enjoy this moment. they are super bowl champions. but, yes, nick foles won't be leaving philly any time soon. iain? >> all right. kristen thanks. philadelphia winning more than just super bowl. the city also got 20 pounds of

us, already wednesday, halfway through this week. good morning. >> morning, everyone, morning, bob. >> good morning, everybody. >> you're going to be busy, as well. >> crazy, crazy. lots of detours today and tomorrow. >> so here we go. let's talk about that wintery mix. >> it is all about timing and temperature this morning. and we're timing this foray rival in a couple of hours actually. and the temperature will be cold enough for a wintery mix to start. so we're going to start kind of slippery this morning, national weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for philadelphia and our surrounding counties, and north and west of us, as well. and this is now in effect. they changed it until 10:00 a.m. because the change-over from snow, sleet, freezing rain to all rain may be delayed just a little bit from what we thought last night. we have a four out of ten, it is not bad right now, in fact, the earlier you can get out of here the better if you can leave early, then you'll beat the storm. but we're ready for the snow and/or rain with temperatures

that are in the 20's right now in philadelphia, we've actually gotten little closer to freezing, it is 31 degrees, still below freezing, sunrise time is 7:03. that's what makes this tricky. headed up the chesapeake bay, little white, little pink, little bit of everything. none of it has moved into our area at least not yet. so, you see 31 here, but 20's, our temperatures just about everywhere else, and we're expecting four to 6 inches every snow in the pocono mountains, where it will stay very cold. so, by lunchtime, we will have made that change-over to rain. and we expect few downpours here and there, and high temperature of around 48 degrees. so, at least it will eventually turn to rain, bob kelly, but the tricky part, just in time for the morning rush. >> that's what's tricky, the change-over will happen right around the time the buses and kids are starting to roll out of the driveway and head to school. right now, everything is dry but we have an accident north on the
