coming up and over, in toward downtown philly. hello wilmington, live look, looking good, as you work your way in and out of wilmington crossing town between 95 and 495. and no problems on mass transit. karen, lauren, back over to you. >> bob, thank you so much. 4:01, developing drive-by shooting send four people including two teenagers to the hospital. the gunmen still on the run. let's get right out to steve keeley with the latest. morning, steve. >> let's fame size barely teenagers, these two are barely 13 years old, both in grammar school, six and seventh graders, two of the four people shot and in the better condition fortunately for the young else. police say they didn't know the worse 22 year old would even survive he was hit several times. when you look at the video police show up, they only find one victim at first, 52 year old man still on the scene, see the acura suv with a big bullet gunman, they know they

have a big gun, so 16 other bullet shells on the street here at 24th and ridge. and then saw the surveillance video from nearby cameras close by and saw all four get shot by a dark four door car driving by with the shooter, firing out of the passenger side. >> based on balistic evidence, we know numerous shots were fired. we found 16 spent shell casings along 24th street and ridge avenue. they're large caliber. fortunately, there are several private surveillance cameras in nearby businesses, police did view the cameras. these cameras did record some of this incident. >> so police rush the 52 year old to temple hospital in a patrol car. then as they're there, they get calls from hahnemann hospital that citizens had driven two little boys and that unconscious 22 year old to hahnemann to emergency entrance right at broad street

on the vine street expressway area there. that person that put that 22 year old right in a car may have been a lifesaver if he somehow survives being shot so many times, the two little boys we are lucky and happy to report only hit in the legs and they'll be okay. so we have three stable and one just clinging to life at last check and last report from police here at headquarters. so, an awful night this happened at 9:30 last night, and these two boys, when they get back to school, will have a life saving story to tell, and something that probably scared the life out of them, as well, guys. >> you know it it, steve keeley, thank you so much. in east mt. airy, homicide detectives there are investigating the shooting death of a 28 year old man inside an apartment complex. this one happening around 10:30 last night, 800 block every east vernon road. police say several shots were fired, from two separate guns. we're told it happened right outside the victim's apartment where he lives with his girlfriend and two young daughters. they were not hurt.

>> in delaware county, chester police are investigating the city's first homicide of 2018. a person was gunned down along the 500 block of mostly court. it happened around 8:30 last night. no arrest haves been made in that case. >> in montgomery county, an absolutely horrifying case. the senseless death of four year old in abington township. ly police say the boy's mother, 19 year old lisa& smith, her boyfriend beat the child because he spilled his cereal. investigators say the boy had old bruises, as well, including rib fractures. >> this is one of those domestic violence cases that is hard to comprehend how somebody could do this to a young child. >> honestly, i'd like to see people that beat their kids to death get beat to death themselves. i know that's not the christian thing to say, but -- >> well, police say that's where it all happened. then they tried to cover it all up. they took the little boy's body, tried to dress him up, say he passed out

unexpectedly. we're also told the mother is six months pregnant. >> pat meehan speaking out following report he used taxpayer dollars to settle sexual harrassment complaint. sabina kuriakose joins us in the studio with how the congressman is defending himself this morning, hi, sabina. >> good morning, lauren, karen, patrick meehan of the seventh district say he did not sexual harrass and calls the thousands of dollars tax paid paid her had she left his offers severance not a settlement as new york times first reported. now the times says meehan used taxpayer money to set al misconduct claim after the aid accused him of making unwanted romantic advances toward her. meehan denies it, said did he not have romantic feelings for her, according to the times meehan allegedly expressed his feelings in person, and through a handwritten letter the paper says he grew hostile when the aid rejected him. he calls his attachment to her an emotional not romantic

attachment. >> the nature of the feelings, one, in which there is an emotional connection, attraction, but i've also said the romantic partner that i have in my life is my wife. and i expressly stated that i'm not interested in a relationship. >> and meehan is being investigated by the house ethics committee. that's a panel that he sat on until news of the complaint first broke. now an attorney for the aid tells fox 29 meehan has violate add confidentiality agreement and that she is considering legal action. now, coming up in the next half hour, we'll speak with voters were their row action to the complaint against the congressman, lauren, karen, back to you. >> thank you shall sabina. 4:06 is the time of the shared copy of the lever he wrote to the former staffer that he says proves their relationship was just professional n this letter it was dated last may, he calls that former aid kind, sensitive, caring, he even referred to that woman as his soul mate. now his offers released text messages, also, between them. we asked some delaware county

twice in two month. it happened at the td bank on ridge avenue. the first time was back in november. the second was a week ago. and investigators say both times the suspect put a black revolver on the counter demanded money and then ran away with cash. in burlington county, the man accused of leaving his girlfriend to die after crashing his car into the delaware river breaks down in court. twenty-four year old jacob garrett of burlington was only in the courtroom for about a few minute yesterday, before he started crying and yelling that he, quote, couldn't do this. the judge did allow him to leave and order him held pending trial. they say garrett was able to escape from the car submerged in the icy river business his 23 year old girlfriend stephanie white was stuck inside and later died at the hospital. >> bucks county man pleaded guilty to stabbing his mother to death in their home in lower makefield township. he is 31 years old, zachary cope, schizophrenia. he told the investigators and his doctor he thought his mom was assassin posing as his mom, and that she had been

hired to kill him. his sentencing is in march. people in montgomery county being warned about several guys posing as electricians trying get into your house. >> this had been happening in upper providence. see that toyota tundra, homeowner who said she let two guys into her house after they said they were there to put in a new electrical line. then she heard someone rustling around in her house, got suspicious, and they ran away. >> mother forced to evacuate from puerto rico after hurricane maria once again is her clinic for a home for she and her sick child. her name mir yam, she said doctors treating her six year old doctor for liver condition suggested she leave the island to find better treatment. for the last month mother and daughter have been at chop after a successful liver transplant. well, when they were discharged, they moved into the franklin residence hotel under fema assistance, but victoria needs more treatment for another two years. and miriam said her immune system too compromised to risk staying in a shelter.

expressway. all part of the overnight construction, until about 5:00. good morning, warrington, montgomery county. kind of quiet. roads dry. mother nature squirted down the sidewalk yesterday, so everything looks nice and clean to start our wednesday morning live look south jersey route 73 just off cooper landing road, again no problems or delays, but left over construction here south on the freeway head in toward new jersey right at 295. blocking three of the lanes, also the ramps to go north on 295. should be out there until 9:00. >> so sad to report on another tragedy, another shooting at a school in time in kentucky, two kids killed, 15 year old opened fire in a school, killing those two student. there is a picture right there of the suspect being taken into custody. >> this all happened, marshall county high school out there, pretty rural area of kentucky, witnesses cents say that 15 year old suspect just kept firing until he ran out of ammunition.

horrified parent returned to the school trying to find their children. police obviously did take him into custody right there. student are trying to cope with what happened. those two young lives, they just released the identity of those two victims, so, so young. >> i saw a lot every blood. i took offer. i started running. i ran for my life. terrifying. still, just is like something out of movies. doesn't feel real. >> and we've now learned the names of those two victims who lost their lives, 15 year old preston cope, and bailey holt. the 15 year old boy is now under arrest, charged with murder, attempted murder, we don't know the motive. >> closer to home, law makers in delaware are identifying a bill to prevent school shootings like the one in kentucky, looks at changing school construction standards like intruder alarm, bulletproof glass in areas, and on doors and windows and classrooms that can be locked from either side with a key. bill supposed to be voted on yesterday but has been delayed

your coffee, let's go, 4:30 this morning, live look, overturned tractor-trailer right at the intersection of industrial highway, that's 291, and bartrum avenue. police on the scene, looks like traffic is getting through, kind of tough, because of the trees blocking us here, but it is just off of 95, if you are using one of the back roads, into those park and rides in the airport area, just watch for some delays, again, 291 right at bartrum avenue. otherwise, police still blocking the schuylkill expressway, eastbound, closed right at 30th street, you can either use 30th or the vine street expressway. another laugh hour or so, all part of the overnight construction. and they're still out here in new jersey, south on the freeway, when you come over the walt whitman bridge into new jersey, they have three lanes block, right at 295. also, the ramps to go north on 295 are closed, as women, rest of south jersey looking good we wake up along 73 in berlin, new jersey, masses transit looking good to start. karen and lauren, back to you. >> developing right now, police searching for gunman that sent four people to the hospital including two very

young teenagers, steve keeley joins us from police headquarters with more on what happened. hi, steve. >> reporter: you know, last year, talking to veteran detective, so often after kids were shot, they told us last year was the worse year ever in philly history, for kids preschool and elementary school age getting shot, wounded and killed, and now, here we are in the first month of this new year, we've got two boys, six and seventh graders just 13 years old, hit by gunfire last night, outside a pizza shop at 9:30, here is the scene, it is 24th and ridge, right near cecil b. moore, main drag through town. and they, likely, were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, too close to two adult shot with them. twenty-two and 52. and it is cents that younger of the two, the 22 year old, who was shot so bad, police told us, they were unsure whether he would survive at last check. >> it appears that a dark colored vehicle, four door, fired shots while traveling south on 24th from ridge.

so at this time it appears to be a drive-by shooting. central detectives, they're on location. processing the scene. and they're also in the process of retrieving those recordings from a nearby business. so, we don't have a motive at this time for this quadruple shooting. we don't know who, if any, of the four victims, are innocent victims struck by stray gunfire at this time. we don't no the intended target r. >> well, there is a couple of positive's to this story, believe it or not. because in that age where people see nothing, and do nothing, this was just the opposite. because police tell us, they got lots of 911 calls from people, hearing lots of shots right in prime time. not only that, that get police right on the scene. but when they get there, lauren, karen, they only finds one victim. that's because quick acting citizens got that worse of the four shots, that 22 year old barely alive, into hahnemann's

emergency room, and private car, plus, somebody grabbed those two little boyles, put them in another car, got them to the hospital right away, as well. so, gratings from the citizens both calling 911 to get police on the scene, and taking action themselves by getting three of the four to the hospital. >> yes, quick thinking, good work. steve keeley, thank you so much. >> check out this video. it is new and it is dramatic footage from june arrest, atlantic county prosecutor's office released body camera video of the stand-off and arrest of doctor james kauffman. that day the doctor came out wearing scrubs and brandishing a gun. he was eventually arrested on weapons charges, earlier this month, he was charged with murder. prosecutors say he ordered a hit on his wife, radio show host april kauffman, who was shot in the couple's home back in 2012. >> all right, now, congressman patrick meehan is speaking out after explosive allegations that he paid off former staffer taxpayer money. let's get right over to sabina kuriakose with what he is saying, sabina?

>> karen, the congressman is denying that he ever even had feelings for the aid. he is saying that, according to the new york times article, it is incorrect, he says that he never paid her off. now, let's go to video from congressman meehan. allegations first surfaced in the new york times article that claim me and adolph the aid after she accused him of making unwanted romantic sproles. he said he expressed in a hand written letter, also cents in person, and that he grew who is cents tile when he found out she had a boyfriend. the married father of three says the money was in line with house rules. and that his attachment to the aid was emotional, not romantic. meanwhile, some voters we spoke with are taking a hard-line. >> he should, he should resign, forget it, because i know a lot of people in this community are not happy. >> i believe that was invited in some space. i had some conversation with a person i was particularly close to, and i had

affirmation that all that we had discussed was acceptable. only later on that i find out that she felt differently. >> so meehan now being investigated by the house ethics committee. a panel that he want sat on until news of the complaint first broke. now, a lawyer for the farmer aid tells fox 29 they're considering legal action, because they say meehan violated a confidentiality agreement. meanwhile, he says, he is going to run for re-election. karen, lauren, back to you. >> thank you, sabina. let's get to. >> this 4:36. >> that was her get away vehicle, phil walker, 86 year old bank rob is her not going to go to jail. will get probation. ewing that walker trying to rob the bank, td bank in university city in november. she thought the bank had cheated her the day before so she went bang with a gun to get her money back. police ended up escorting her out of the bank. did plead guilty to simple assault and robbery. >> large sinkhole has taken over the 2300 block of boston

street in fishtown, and man, is it an ice sore. the sinkhole caved in the street, part of the sidewalk. crews had been hard at work since monday trying to fix that damage. the philadelphia water department says the main under the street did break, but they don't know if something went wrong before. like a defective sewage pipe. this is not the first time people have dealt with a gaping hole on their street. the water department says yesterday's rain did not help the situation. for now they're asking people to call them with any concerns they notice in and around their homes. >> all right, so i don't know when we had the big superbowl if i have to wear the same riddick list outfit, we all have our superstitions, so the mayor has one, as women, talking about the statue on top of city hall. do you think it will be wearing a jersey or not? >> we'll see. but first let's check in with scott on our weather. hey, scott? >> good wednesday morning, ladies, talking about colder air moving in for the next several days. but milder air, by the upcoming weekends watch about
