tonight. thank you for joining us on this frigid friday. i'm lucy noland. >> i'm chris o'connell. cold temperatures, strong winds making for dangerous mix. team coverage of these. lecotyart with meteorologist scott williams. he's live outside our old city studios. how cold is it out there scottem in the 30s, chris but feels like temperatures are in thed up with a little pep in their step as well because it is ack to the system. high temperatures earlier this week maxed out at 70 degrees and right now we areng evening and overnight. in fact freeze kick in in the continuing into early saturday dip into the 20s and teens the cold aft it's been since march. grees that was the high ure on monday. folks were in short sleeves just enjoying the nice fall weather. that was above average. but look at the current temperature the. 35 degrees right now. that's the air temperature. factor in those bitterly cold winds, yeah, it feels like 26 degrees right now in philadelphia. but look at mount pocono.

again as scott mentioned we're talking about temps in the low and even feel colder with those wind chills. as we look at some of those folks leaving the aquarium, they weren't running at first as it gets darker they are now. problem it's so abrupt as we were talking about. we knew this colder weather was coming. we're just not prepared. we know about code blues. they have been issued across the area in philadelphia until sunday morning. they are declared when the wind chill is expected to dip blow 20 degrees. which is the case here. the city's office of homeless services reaching out to the homeless trying to get them into shelters. we know there are at least 80 additional shelters, shelter beds set up across the city. there's also a code blue in camden until tomorrow morning putting out the all call for ies to open warming stations where people can get some relief. the advice obviously look out fo yourself your four legged friends and your neighbors. >> staying indoors as much as possible. checking in on your elderly your disable residents perhaps some friends that may just --

stalker case. prosecutors have charged a man accused ofing a local teen whose popular on social medial let's go right to dave kinchen live in radnor township at the police station where they just wrapped up a news conference. dave? >> reporter: chris, these details to meet witreleased tr- michael lieb of michigan was taken into cus after driving all the way to the home of the radnor youtubetar tuesday. this all began a few weeks ago. the initial contact polic the suspect reaching out to the social media entertainer trying to a range is meeting to hook up police say at one point even e-mailing the victims familyngm to take your son and i am nine hours awaytontered the teen's mother and said he was friend boy. that's when the mother closed the door and called 911. the suspect ran off. then there were messages that came through the family found threatening. then the next time he comes to the house november 7th cops actu used the victim's phone to lure the suspect to the house at which point he's arrested

routine visit to the dentist turned into a life altering event for a south jersey woman. she lost her eye because of that visit and obviously it should have never happened. >> anyone who sits in a dentist chair needs to listen to this jersey mom is trying to make certain what happened to her never happens to anyone else. from her south jersey office, jenn maroney sees things a lot differently these days. >> i trusted my dentist and i loved my dentist and i had no

same thing everyone's question how much snow will we get this season. >> scott williams joins us live. so whate this winter scott? >> a little bit of a mixed bag. of course, right now we're dealing with a taste of winter. even though the calendar still says fall. the average high this time of year in the upper 50s. yeah you heard it right there. folks are bundleed up. but the millionr question, when will we see the snow really encompass our area.here's a look. ♪ as soon as we feel tste eing a winter. do you rem last year? you can say it was uneventful. ♪ >> the first measurable snowfall of the season wasn't untilnow. and then there was christmas. it rained christmas eve. it was mild with highs in the 50s. jack else's nose. as far as snow, the biggest snowfall of the season was only sick inches and that happened in march. it looks like of blue. that indicates some cooler water so a building la nina pattern more active pacific jet meaning

more storms there and lik ste jet stream could also be termed by some of the snow pack in russia and siberia and right now, a pretty hefty amount of snow coverage there. so that could fuel some cold r outbreaks for the lower 48 and also negativeo s moving in our direction. that's one wild card. we'll have to watch. the bottom line i think the pa philadelphia, baltimore ashington, d.c. >> let's break it down month by month. first, with temperature. december will be at or slightly above normal. colder air will move n we'll go 1 degree below normal. february i think will be at least 2 degrees above the monthly average temperature and with march same christmas again. january will b clipper systems that where will be a pattern change in late january throu mid february when there will be a better chance of .5-inches. there will still be a chance of snow in march with two t 5-inches expected. the 29rity isecast that we'll expect milder temperatures
