of bill cosby accuser on the stand his attorneys did not waste a moment. the goal to discredit the claims that she made against the legendary trainer. where we begin tonight at 6:00. i'm iain page. >> i'm lucy noland. drama continues to unfold. >> the defense trying to suggest constand and cosby had a consensual relationship. fox 29's bruce gordon joins us live from the montgomery county courthouse. bruce? >> reporter: yeah, iain. andrea constand got a chance to tell her version of events yesterday through friendly questions from the prosecution. well today it was the defense's chance. the questions, well they weren't nearly so friendly. for the cosby defense team to win acquittal they must damage the credibility of his chief accuser and so team cosby spent this day hammering away at andrea constand's story. in a grueling cross examination defense attorney angela agrusa noted that cosby had shown romantic interest in constand during two different visits to his cheltenham estate.

months before the alleged sexual assault there. agrusa he made a pass at you. constand, yes. agrusa, you came back? >> couldn't stand yes, i did. >> the defense used phone records to show constand had at first miscalculated by two months the date of the alleged assault. and that she had row petted called cosby in the days and weeks following the incident. constand civil attorney noted her position as director of operations for item tell university's women's basketball program. >> here's a would who has a job part of her job is to talk to a trustee at the university, and that's what she was doing. >> reporter: the defense attempt to rip holes in her story did not escape the notice of fellow cosby accusers on hand for the trial. >> i have never been on the stand and i'm very grateful because i don't want to have to defend myself against what i already know and i don't know want people discrediting me and i hate to see them discredit h her. because i know from my own

personal experience that she is truthful. >> reporter: the accusations against cosby have destroyed his career and made him a pa rye ya in many circles. those friends who have shown support say they're not surprised. >> just a very hot issue, and people are criticize other people when someone is charged we always have a tendency to say oh, my goodness, horrendous what they did. you know, i'd rather wait until the jury has its say. >> reporter: more high drama late this afternoon on the form of testimony from gianna constand andrea's mother who told the jury her daughter was suffering nightmares, waking up screaming at night in the months following that january 2004 incident. the daughter told the mom about a year afterward in january of 2005 what had happened. albeit in a pg13 way. the mom ultimately learned from cosby himself in a phone call what had happened and fairly graphic detail. she broke down in tears and said to the jury, he meaning cosby be

50s overnight by 11:00 we'll be sitting at 58 degrees. so coming up another cool start to the day tomorrow. a sunny stretch moving into the seven day and guess what? a heat wave. the longer heat wave so far of the spring. this will be our second one. it is in the seven day. so a little bit of a wait but by the weekend it's going to be hot around here. we'll talk more about it with the seven day. see you later in the broadcast. >> thanks, kathy. a six-year-old boy is still in critical condition after being shot in the head in delaware. it happened yesterday along the 700 block of east sixth street in wilmington. police initially reported that the boy's 31-year-old mother had also been shot but they now say she was hit dye debris from the bullets hitting her car. police are looking for the shooter or shooters. >> the city council released a statement saying in part, yesterday's violence was perpetrated by cowards who are using weapons instead of words to resolve couldn't plick and it has to stop! ". happening right now, new information in drug bust at a delaware county chipotle.

police now say they've arrested three people at the radnor restaurant in lancaster avenue. two of them were employees. police say for the past month undercover officer has been buying pot from an employee at that location. they say the people they arrested hid the drugs in the toilets. the restaurant is closed for n now. today was the final straw. we purchased over a quarter pound might be close to half pound of marijuana, edit rolled up in his shirt came out and sold it to my undercover officer. we made an arrest. >> right there in the parking lot. >> right there in the parking lot. >> this is the fourth drug bust radnor township restaurant in recent months. chris o'connell will have more tonight at 10:00. former high profile chef has pleaded guilty to conspiring to sexually abuse two children to make child pornography. prosecutors say 43-year-old alexander today paso took recorded images of his then ex-girlfriend engaged in sexual conduct with kids this happened back between november of 2011 and october of 2012.

today paso oped restaurants in philadelphia and new jersey and could face up to 20 years when he's sentenced on september 20th. delaware prisoner with pension for escaping is back in custody tonight after less than day on the run. this morning just before 10:00 police capturd 45-year-old wayne williams pennsville township. they say he escape from the plumber community correct al center around 5:30 in the evening. now williams they found him after they got a call around 7:30 a couple hours later say he had assaulted somebody on corson avenue. some schools did go on lock down until police caught him, and he was in the delaware prison by the way because he had escaped from a previous jail. the preliminary hearing for the engineer charged in that deadly amtrak crash has been postponed. today's hearing for brandon bostian is now set for septembe. his attorneys are questioning why it too long after the crash to bring charges investigators say bostian was going too fast

when that train crashed going around a curve in philadelphia. the train jumped the tracks and killed eight people and injured 200. new tonight, a delaware man tells fox 29 he is literally scared for his life because he says he can't get enough of life-saving treatment to clean his blood. >> he tells our jeff cole the maker has run out of it. jeff is live in sussex county with the story. jeff? >> reporter: lucy it's such an extraordinary we chased it down to the beach committee in lewes delaware. this is a man with kidney failure. he needs something called extra kneel to stay alive but the company simply doesn't have any of it. he fears for his life and the lives of thousands of others. >> this is where i keep my dialysis machine that i connect to every night. >> reporter: seven nights a week at bedtime 47-year-old guy widener, hooks himself up to a dialysis machine and for the next 11 hours his blood is cleansed of toxins. >> if you don't do that, what happens to you?

>> the sun is breaking out from the clouds. temperatures will be warping. on ultimate doppler we still have that easterly flow that means the ocean will keep it cool. owing water temperatures in the 60s that's pretty much where our temperatures are. at some breaks in the overcast.- looking good you can see those shadows on the boardwalk in wildwood down the shore will be in wildwood just a week from tomorrow. can't wait. we're looking at dry conditions working their way into the region. today's high temperature pretty impressive in the west. not so impressive in the east. average high for this time of year is 80 degrees. 67 the high in philadelphia. compare that to 77 in raleigh. atlanta 81. but to the west you can see temperatures quiet warm in houston 91. dallas 91. in phoenix today 102 degrees.

we'll see a huge pattern shift. cool for now with this huge trough in the east. you can see this ridge through the zen central plains where it's very hot that will be working its way into the delaware valley by the end of the week noon the weekend. so not just 70s or 80s. but 90s going for our second heat wave of the season. the first one of course was in may. so as we look ahead, 80 degrees is normal. sunday 90. monday 92. tuesday 95. it will be feeling more like 100 with the humidity and then by wednesday looking at temperatures that will be around 90. right now looks like four day heat wave as we look beyond that fort second half of june, temperatures expected to be above average but as you look it follows the i-95 corridor. and that means from maine down to florida pretty much we will be in the heat through the end of the month. so that is something to look forward to if you're really itching for summer. overnight tonight 54 degrees. partly cloudy and, yes, the sun will be out tomorrow. may only about two or three sunny days we're hoping for more in the month of june.
