>> time square is a mix of family-friendly characters like elmo and the lankin characters, and the seedy underbelly's of new york city. to find out more of what is going on with time square with prostitution and drugs i met up with the the manhattan madam. >> time square has been the underbelly of new york for 30, 40 or 50 years. there's a lot of stuff going on here. whether that's in the hotels or people on the streets, or anything else that is going on, sex, drugs. >> the manhattan madam is famous for being caught up in the prostitution scandal. she ended up going to jail to pay for it.

>> what is the phrase? >> it ain't easy, it's hard to get a tip. >> at the beginning of her career as a madam she began and time square hanging out by the clubs. when her career took off shoes making 6 - $7 million per year. she was only dealing with wealthy and powerful man. >> i did a lot of party calls in the guys were drug based and so they wanted company. that's where i made a lot of money. it was someone spending $12000 per night and he is on a drug binge and wants company. he's going out with his friends and wants girls to make them look good. >> prostitution in time squares at the lowest level, it's usually tourists interested and they are very cheap. >> most of the high-end stuff goes on in midtown for the working people. time square they don't want to pay more than what they might get in there town, hundred dollars maybe max.

kevin was placed in hospice care. >> being that he was in hospice before nine days before the wedding, i did not expect him to look as good as he did. i get really emotional going down the aisle. just seen him and that talks. >> ashley and kevin spent two months as newlyweds until sadly passed away on sunday. >> he made me the happiest girl in the world. he wanted to make all my dreams come true. he knew what he was doing. he was perfect and i can't say that about many people. >> they do have a gofundme page that they had set up a while ago. now they will use the donation from that to help with funeral expenses. i have a link to that of my facebook page at chasing ashley johnson. >> he was in hospice care, was he able to get up and go to the

>> you are chasing a story, and he asked use to wear a tutu. >> really? what does it take for a man to wear a pink a tutu? courage. i'm in new jersey where had one of the strangest, yet positive and liberating chases of my life. i chased the tutu project which was started by bob and linda, two amazing people that i met today in their home. a dozen years ago linda was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. a type that will actually never allow hurt to go off of therapy. >> if you go off of chemotherapy it generally comes back. >> bobby in a professional photographer he took on a pink tutu and he makes a lot of people smile. and a series of photos that shot over a dozen years, he traveled the world taking breathtaking

photographs of himself in a pink tutu with no shirt, no shoes, no socks, no pants. the photographs are stunning. by no means are they goofy, by no means are they in bad taste. they are arts. they show vulnerability. they show hope and that their loved ones will do anything for the family. >> the tutu project started as a photo project. it moved into our nonprofit and we raise money for women and men living with breast cancer. >> after struggling to have a book published because publishers do not understand the concept of a guy in a pink tutu. >> i cannot imagine. >> they got a book out by themselves. what happened next they're not ready for. a little article in the new york daily news supplanted and avalanche of supporters around the world. from obscurity, bob find himself on the front page of yahoo and sitting down on the today show with matt lauer. thousands of print orders within hours of that.
