>> all right, shawnette, thank you. >> happening now a search tonight in burlington county. police are looking for this duo accused of burglarizing a police officer's car and stealing his wallet. police say the officer's credit card was then used at a wawa in new york landing road in maple shade. the card was also used at the jughandle inn in cinnaminson. the officer's badge, police id, driver's license and cash were also inside his wallet. >> one of the women injured in the germantown avenue carjacking and hit-and-run is out of the hospital tonight. doctors say 69 year old thelma brown is now home recovering. the mother of the three children killed in the crash remains in a coma. they were all hit while selling fruit to support their local church and garden last week. two suspects are behind bars facing murder charges. >> six philadelphia police officers off the streets and in federal court. they're accused of kidnapping, stealing money and drugs. it's all part of a conspiracy prosecutors say goes back years. fox 29's bruce gordon was there as the officers faced a judge.

it's a story you saw first on fox. >> reporter: the indictment calls six former members of the police department's narcotics field unit traders in the war on drugs. >> theory of the operation was to identify suspected drug dealers and use extortion means and threats in order to get their money and property and if it happened to be drugs then they distributed. >> the alleged dirty half dozen thomas, brian reynolds, michael spicer, perry bets, linwood norman and john spicer are accused of shaking down drug dealers for more than half a until i don't know bucks from 2006 through 2012. it's alleged they beat and threatened uncooperative targets who are naturally reluctant to go public with their stories. in one case, officer norman is accused of lifting a man off his feet and leaning him over the rail on the 18th floor of an apartment house. >> i've been a police officer for more than 40 years, and this is one of the worst cases of corruption that i have ever heard. >> reporter: already convicted

dirty cop jeffrey walker is believed to have copped with authorities. no comment from the u.s. attorney except to say -- >> he was part and parcel of these groups of individuals and they participated in different acts and furtherance of the conspiracy report lost defendants plead guilty in federal court. >> instead of rushing to judgment let's where the allegations come from, let's who is making them want they said in the past about these allegations in courts of law and my guess is that behind each of these allegations is nothing. >> reporter: in attendance the lawyer representing dozens of people suing the cops over the exact mistreatment alleged in the indictment. >> most important thing is not my case. the most important thing we need to have a justice system where police officers actually follow the law they don't break it and get away with it. >> it's a mag that's there and if you don't cut it out, it will not improve on its own. you have to get rid of it. and that's what we're committed to doing. however painful it may. report the report the officers were arrested without incident

and remain behind bars much this scandal has already led to the dismissal of scores of drug cases in which these officers were involved. it's not clear at this point how many, if any, more cases will have to be dumped in the fallout over this prosecution. in the newsroom, bruce gordon, seven news. >> five people under arrest in connection with a wild armed robbery at caesars casino in atlantic city. the robbery happened on july 212 masked men stormed the casino and made off with boxes of money. police say the suspec suspects e nearly $200,000. 19 year old plumber, 20 year old dwayne morgan and 23 year old aaron evans sitting in jail tonight. two more suspects monique kelly and lance rogers facing charges as well. police say they've been able to recover most of the money. >> a wild day for police in philadelphia. tonight investigators are looking into two cases of police involved shootings. the first one happened around 4:30 on the 3200 block of page street in strawberry mansion. plea say a man pulled a gun on an officer and the officer shot the guy in the stomach.

the officer is not hurt and it's not clear how the man is doing tonight. police shot a suspect in the city's eastwick section. it its it happened around 5:30 at elm rood and island avenues. police say they were in the middle of making an arrest for stolen motorcycle when a suspect tried to run over the officer. an officer fired his gun hitting a suspect one in the arm. the suspect is in stable condition. officers were not hurt. >> newark, new jersey, police officer is recovering tonight after being shot in the leg. it happened this afternoon on clinton avenue. the mayor said the officer was struggling with a suspect during an armed robbery when the shooting happened. the officer is expected to be okay. police arrested the suspect at the scene. taking down the mainline takeover project. for people plead guilty to dealing drugs at local high schools and colleges. 18 year old garrett johnson and 18 year old reid cohen plead guilty to misdemeanor marijuana charges. willow lynn and 29 your old dominic curcio both plead guilty to felony conspiracy with intent

to deliver marijuana. prosecutors say the two ringleaders are 18 year old timothy brooks and 25 year old neal scott. investigators say the drug ring was pushing coke cane, ecstasy, marijuana and hash oil at five mainline high schools and three colleges in the area. what happened today is critical to the case, because the four who have plead guilty have also agreed to testify against the suspected ringleaders. >> sunset boulevard looks more like sunset lake after major water main break. ucla campus cleanup operation is underway repairs could be difficult. fox's william longness explains. >> reporter: crews are hard at work on sunset boulevard after a water main broke and millions of gallons of water gushed out of the ground near the ucla campus. though the water has been turned off, officials say a number of valves are leaking. the general superintendent of water distribution says workers are assessing all of their options but the location of the

sunset boulevard and officials cannot say with certainty when it will be fixed. in los angeles, william longness, fox news. >> skyfox over deadly accident in deptford, new jersey an 82 year old man has died. his car collided with a public works department dump truck. police say the man was making a u-turn on delsea drive at fox run road and the truck was behind him when it happened. the driver of the truck is not hurt and that crash is under investigation. >> two attacks today in a gaza push. palestinian death toll to more than 1300 people. strikes today hit a crowded shopping area in gaza city. earlier in the day, tank shells tour through the wall of un school packed with war refugees. at least 17 people died there and 90 more people were hurt. israeli officials say they will not leave gaza until all hamas' tunnel noose their country are destroyed. hamas says they won't stop the violence until the blockade is lifted.

was sun bathing in her backyard in the villas when something caught her eye creeping up the crate myrtle tree feet away. >> the snake was coiled up the tree. it's tail was hanging about 3-foot down and it was eating a full sized seagull. >> she soon realized this was no black garden snake. this was the real deal. a python right there under the patio table. >> it turned around. retreated that way. >> reporter: after killing a sea gull the snake came back for more. >> it was thick constructing and just moved fast. report roar this time the snake attacked a neighbor's cat. then tried to devour another snake that michael had to resc rescue. >> so far we saved a snake an cat from it. >> reporter: now some are worried about their small pets and children. >> we're all definitely on edge. it's a pretty big snake. >> week later the unwelcomed guest showed up in judy thomps thompson's backyard. >> the girth of a football which scares me because if the end is

that big, the mouth is probably twice the size. >> reporter: the python is now on the move. the last snake sighting this morning in a completely different neighborhood about a mile away. >> cape may county wildlife officers have been searching for the snake that was most likely a pet that someone had released into the wild. >> it's a big snake. 12-foot. i never seen. we're actually looking for it. >> reporter: neighbors hope it gets caught before it tries to find more food. >> i think someone let it go in the area. it's not normal to see that kind of snake in this area. report roar in the villas, chris o'connell, fox 29 news. >> a woman visiting philadelphia fights off an tack kerr. police say a man tried to tie a rope around her neck. it happened this afternoon at 45th and large wood streets but the woman were not go down without fight. police say she tore the man's shirt right off his body. they say, they caught the guy and he's charged with this case and a similar incident that happened sunday.

the woman by the way is doing just fine. >> atlantic city police arrest man accused of robbing a bank and then taking a cab to casino. police say 34 year old lonnie britain held up the bank of america on the 2900 block of atlantic avenue. cops say he then hailed a cab and headed toward harrah's casino. police quickly caught up with britton at the cass soon know he's facing a long list of charges tonight. >> and what was in spring garden apartment that had the bomb squad responding. you saw it breaking right here last night at 10:00 on the fox 29 news. and tonight, philadelphia police are still trying to answer that question. the scene a building at ninth and spring garden streets. police found a pressure cooker and something growing inside the apartment. they're now sending the substances to crime lab to solve the mystery. >> a violent death a little girl covered in blood and tonight the man who police say is behind it all is formally charged a judge arraigned 5284 old kevin ambrose today for the stabbing and killing of 41 year old jennifer bonko in new jersey. prosecutors say he dumped her

body along ariel and will tons landing road. and had her five year old daughter with him. prosecutors say he then dropped off the little girl at the home they all shared and he took off leaving her alone. that's where the child's aunt eventually found her. >> short time later she found jf alone at the door with what appeared to be blood on her clothing. jf told the 91 weren't caller that mommy is dead. jennifer boncko is jf' mother. >> if convicted ambrose faces 30 years to life in prison. in montgomery county, two, 17 year olds are accused of breaking in a home and baking pot brownies. >> police say it happened on the 100 block of lincoln road and perkiomen township. they say they caught the teens in the home with more than 2 pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. why did they target that home? as of right now that is still a mystery. at least 20 new jersey residents now tested positive for a mosquito born virus spread throughout the caribbean.

start across the area but we will have some changes during the day tomorrow. but looking right now at the satellite and radar it's dry. but look off to the west. there is diminishing line of showers weakening trying to make its way toward the pocono mountains and also sections of berks county. a lot of that activity will simply fall apart. but talk about the temperatures. well below average. 80 that was it for the high today. we should be looking at numbers right around 87 degrees for this time of year as a matter of fact, take look at the number of 90-degree days or better for 2014. only 14. just a couple of years ago, were saw 30 by this time frame and take look at 2010, 36, 90-degree or better days. so where is the heat? we're kind of trapped in this pattern for now, but coming and we'll talk about some warmer temperatures and also the threat of rain increasing over the next several days. iain, lucy. >> talk to you then, scott. two masked robbers beat up a store clerk. what happened when a customer walk into the middle of this vial will the robbery next.

♪ >> the search is on for the man who opened fire killing a minnesota police officer. police say 47 year old officer scott patrick was shot in the head during a routine traffic stop. he died at the hospital. it happened this afternoon in west st. paul. witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots. the suspect is still on the loose tonight. and florida police are looking for two men a who tacked a store clerk. >> you know what, surveillance camera caught whole terrifying ordeal. they walk into the store and charge right at the register jumping over the counter immediately assaulting the man working there. they were wearing masks and one of them even had on flip-flops losing one of them during the scuffle. >> while one them held him down and threatened him the other kind of rivaled through the cash register. >> police say a customer was very unfortunate timing came into the store just as this whole thank was unfolding.

♪ >> a pilot who made an emergency landing on florida beach killing a man and his young daughter in the process says he is deeply sorry. the pilot's pastor delivering the message for him today. >> he also went on to explain what went wrong sunday afterno afternoon. carl cocomore says he and his neighbor left for short sightseeing trip and he says the engine failed. he tried to restart it but it wouldn't fire back up. so he knew he had to make an emergency landing. he says he notified authorities immediately and circle the area looking for a remote place to land. >> the plane hit the water to rest with nose down atwater' edge. there was only after i landed that and we exited the plane that i realized there were people on the beach. i never saw them. >> the land diagnose not injure the pilot nor his passenger. the plane was supposed to land

at an airport in venice florida. the ntsb is investigating the crash although local sheriff's local is looking into the deaths at this point prosecutors have not filed any charges. >> a little boy walks to park alone and that in and of itself gets his mom arrested and charged. it happened in florida. nicole gain knee says it all started last sunday when she gave her son dominic permission to walk to a local park. he is seven years old. that park is half mile from their home. along the way the little boy passed a public pool and someone there asked him where his mom was and the boy got spooked and took off. when he got to the park the police showed up and drove the child home to his mom where they promly arrested her. she's charged with neglect. >> i honestly didn't think i was do anything wrong. i was letting him go play. >> the officer wrote in his report that dominic was unsupervised at the park and that numerous sex offenders reside in the vicinity. she says her son is mature

mountains. 66 in allentown as well as pottstown. 70 currently in wilmington and low 60s right now in wildwood. as we look at the satellite/radar once again dry air is overhead. so this line of showers and thunderstorms really weakened as it moved toward the west into all of that drier air. as we watch fox future cast play out during the overnight, quiet conditions. that could be a sprinkle toward the pocono mountains. for your thursday, during the heat of the day a pop up shower, isolated thunderstorm. not out of the question. moving ahead to your friday increase in the cloud cover. better chances during the afternoon on friday for some scattered showers perhaps a thunderstorm and then as we move into the up coming weekend, you can see overnight friday, clouding up, also, watching some rainfall. disturbance moving up from the south. that will increase the rainfall chances so saturday right now looks pretty wet across our area. so as we head into the weekend, tomorrow about a 20% chance for showers. a 40% chance on friday.
