you are going to see these heavy showers, storms, straight up along 83, again, just west of us, from about baltimore up through harrisburg. but, it is still holding together. watch it does so into our area. right now, in philadelphia, rain free, but 70 degrees, with high humidity, and some fog in spots. , temperatures mild. fog, dense down the shore along the coast, but 7-mile visibility in philadelphia shows it is not particularly dense, but around, so your driving hazards will be some rain, left over from yesterday, and some morning fog, and the chance for some rain later today. seventy-eight is the high temperature, it is cooler, although relatively speaking because we're still muggy, for tonight, there is chance of showers, just like last night, any of the showers could be heavy at time, rain ex ending into thursday morning, with fog, as well. another busy morning when it comes to the weather as far as conditions out on the roadways, morning rush, just getting started, kacie.

what are the biggest issues snow. >> we have few accidents, then we will get down to, i found some fog for you, caitlin roth. eastbound side of 422, 29, accident involving a deer there. hatfield township bethlehem pike at north broad street accident two. so we go to route one, right at delaware route one, this is down right in rehoboth beach, horrible fog conditions down there, not so much at the jersey points, into south jersey, but, delaware, really sock in right now, karen, chris. >> thank you, kacie. so police in camden searching for gunman who shot 21 year old man overnight. it happened at south tenth street, sheridan avenue, just about four hours ago. police say the victim was shot in the stomach. we don't know his condition. >> truck driver with the hearing today, up to steve keel any mt. laurel, verying it tweets have been sent recently, steve? >> reporter: well, we got a good hint, though, from people real close to this case. what we could learn in court today. and, that is that the key

question in this case may not be how long that truck driver had been on the road with the wal-mart struck, but how long he had been driving first on his way to work, and to the place where he first got into the wal-mart truck. those close to the case say 35 year old truck driver, kevin roper's long commute, from his home in georgia, to the wal-mart truck, before he even began driving it, is now the focus of this investigation and the key to the case. no comment how long roper's commute was where it was he pick up this truck. so, in court today, we may learn what state roper started driving the truck in, how far, how long his commute was, to get to that state first, and so, his long commute combined with what may have been a long shift and drive after that, may be how police came up with that court filing we first saw monday, minus any details when they wrote that roper had not slept in more than 24 hours before the crash. and because the crash happened

here, in new jersey, the first state in the country, to make drowsy driving and falling asleep behind the wheel a crime, that involved a tv star, roper knows, he's the focus and he says a scapegoat. >> driving a car is like driving a weapon if you are at high speeds. so, yes, if you are not in best condition, peak driving is the same as drunk driving, they've done studies, they've proved t so when something like this happens, what bridges back my memory, that driver needs to go to jail. he killed somebody. >> how do you stay awake when your behind the wheel? >> you get rest before you go behind the wheel. you have to know. there is no remedy. no remedy for that. >> wal-mart wouldn't say if he had a lawyer, and if he had a lawyer he certainly would not tell this guy to get on social

media and report about this case, tweets attributed to the truck driver now widely reported as his, have him both remorseful, and also, claiming, that he's being scapegoated saying, quote, i can't express how horrible i feel but adding because a famous person was involved, and all of the bad press is about finding a scapegoat, writing i was never charged at the scene of the accident, because once again, i was not guilty of any crime, not until all of the tv cameras came. and he denies that police filing that he hadn't slept in 24 hours, not once saying that to any law enforcement or media person he wrote, on twitter, and he began, though, with my prayers go out to all of the families affected. so lawyer won't be too upset with him, because he's already set up defense, he's very remorseful, which just like to hear, as women. so we will find out maybe in court today by him whether he says anything public, whether or not that is indeed his tweet, twitter account, and whether or not that is how he feels right now. >> sue, karen? >> we'll look for all of that,

thanks. 5:06. also happening today, representatives of the philadelphia school district, and also the school reform commission, are going to be testifying at city council, this morning. they'll be discussing a bill to authorize borrowing that support for one time grant of the school district. grant would allow the city to fulfills its $50 million commitment for the current fiscal year, will unable the district to help fill part of this budget gap for the next school year. we're following a developing story for you right now, drew cats, the son of the late lewis katz, seen here at his farther's memorial service; selling his interest in the inquirer, to co--owner gerry lenfest. in a statement, cats denied there was tension between him and lenfest, and wrote he believes the paper will be in excellent hands. lewis katz bought the inquirer along with gerry lenfest just days before he died in a plane crash. police are working hard to find out how a local first grader got his hands on what they believe is heroin. this happened at barry elementary school in west philadelphia, police say that the six year old girl brought

a 11 bundles of heroin to school. her entire class was brought to the hospital for possible drug exposure. investigators are now trying to figure out how the girl got the drugs in the first place. >> we do not frisk students, first graders, when they come into school. so the student probably had it somewhere concealed. but didn't know what it was. >> charges against one or both of the parents are now pending. >> bucks county man is hine bars this morning, charged with trying to kill a bensalem police officer, 23 year old matthew miller, was walked to a police van on tuesday evening, after answering charges that he stabbed a 38 year old police officer, michael chewmenski. officer saw miller after authorities say he had escaped from prison work release program. investigators say miller fought with the officer and then stabbed him in the stomach. >> freedom is a precious thing we have. he probably figured hits freedom was over at that point and figure he would fight it

out with the officer. he then started to physically push the officer. >> it was the officer's vest that saved his life. he was not injured. and he's expected to be back at work pretty shortly. the suspect is being held on $5 million bail. one man dead after a triple shooting at a delaware apartment. police were called out to the scene just before 6:00 last evening, at the boxwood ants in new castle. police say woman and two men found with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies, one man was later pronounced dead. the conditions of the other two people is unknown this morning. police say they're not looking for any suspects have nod said what led up to the shooting. >> terrifying home invasion, victim talking only to fox. now, we first brought you the story as breaking news on the fox 29 morning news. the 68 year old sales, someone broke into her home, tide her up, then tore through her olney apartment. she says the intruders used dumpsters to climb over security fence, then, smash a window to break-in. she says they ransack her apartment, and got away with

$10. and her registered handgun. the victim asked that we not show her face. wanted money, which i have none, didn't have any money at all in the house. >> police dusted for fingerprints and searched the surveillance video, so far, there are no leads, but we'll keep you posted. meantime 5:10, if you planned on taking the i495 bridge to get to philadelphia shore points this summer, find another route. >> it will be the back roads, because that span over the christina river will stay closed for the entire season. woe new it would take a while, tan, will but working as fast as they can. delaware transportation chief says here's the plan. the southbound lanes may reopen by labor day, and the northbound lanes a few weeks later. we casino of expected this. the bridge was shut down last week, after emergency inspection showed it was not safe to cross, but state officials say they're doing everything to quickly fix this, as efficiently as possible. >> the expertise at the ready, who can bring people on. and because we made those

and storms, a lot of lightning extends along interstate 83. anywhere just north of harrisburg all the way down to baltimore. we are seeing some heavy rain, possible winds, also, as i said, a lot of lightning. this is just west of our coverage area. but this line is moving eastward. so, into lancaster county, pretty shortly, and into our western suburbs after that. weather -- whether it holds together with all of the lightning and rain still up for grabs. these things tends to fade when you hit sunrise or at least fade in general. that being said, our western suburbs have the best chance to see heavy rain, lightning, by 9:00 a.m., fox future cast picking up on this weakening trend, just some showers around the philadelphia area. from there, mostly cloudy, humid, and we see the chance for some showers and thunderstorms again, later on tonight. your seven day forecast, does show that we've got 78 for the high today, heavy rain likely tomorrow, and friday, finally out of this pattern, by saturday, just if time for the weekend, how great is that? cooler, drier, temperatures low to mid 80s, looks like a beautiful fathers day from calls. that's a look at your seven

freshman, app eel yo hoffman, happened early yesterday morning, just as classes got underway at reynolds high school. police say the gunman also shot and injured 50 years old, physical education teacher. >> police found the suspects slumped in a toilet in the bathroom, they say, he had likely killed himself. it is emotional. i mean, you see it happening across the us. it hits home. >> this is becoming the norm. we take it for granted. in ways that as a par rent terrifying to me. >> during the evacuation of the school, authorities found another student with a gun, and he was taken into custody. that weapon, and arrest, were not related to the shooting. pretty scary scene at the lincoln tunnel, a lot of panic yesterday, after police dispatchers received a call there was sniper, they did big search, but nothing suspicious found at the end of the search. chaos all happened on the new

fair amount of heroin? >> it is a larger than average amount for a personal consumption. >> that's crazy. that's just -- that's not called for. that's unnecessary. >> now, application also searched the girls parents home, no word on what they found. teacher found the girl chewing on bag, realized it was heroin, then found the rest of the bags, all of the first graders were returned to chop where they were evaluated. no word yet on any charges, though we did know, the mother and the girl's father may be facing some charges. back to you. >> wait and see that part of the story, czar even a, thank you. police in northeast philadelphia searching for the person responsible for a soda machine explosion but now investigators have one more piece of this puzzle. take a look at the surveillance video. police say it shows the man who put an explosive inside this machine, on the 4200 block of magee avenue thursday.
