tip. this may alarm some of you parents out there. a popular children's performer, he goes by the stage name of mr. knick knack is facing child pornography charges. the arrest was reported by julie carey who is live with a look aw this investigation got started. jules. >> reporter: it was one of the biggest internet service providers that alerted fairfax county police that they spotted someone sending images o child pornography. police tracked it to someone named steven rossind when they found out his stage name was mr. knick knack and he was a children's performer, their concerns only grew. it's the kind of music that makes toddlers jump up and down and made mr. knick knack a favorite performer for preschoolers and their parents.s suddenlyven rossi faces a new audience.

a fairfax county judge after his arrest last week on child porn possession charges. police saytheir investigation started with a cyber tip from an internet provider. >> there was evidence that there was some child pornography being exchanged over the internet. >> they executed a search warrant and seized several electronic devices and them found disturbing photo. >> we uncovered over 50 images though coordination with the commonwealth and made charges, ten counts of possession of child pornography. >> when detectives learned he was a children's performer, it raised their level of concern and raised questions. >> was he in contact with a children physically? at this point in the investigation, to everything we've looked at with electronic devices tlr devices, there's no indication there was any physicalcontact, but this is still an ongoing investigation. >> investigators also so far do not believe any children rossi interacted with are in the elicit photos, but they urged

. less than a mile from largo high school in prince george's county, police say someone found a body there. the school says the v atim is student. news 4's chris gordon reports. >> reporter: students from largo high school are coming to this park to remember their school mate who was found dead here this morning. the school sent a letter saying a 12th grade student passed away. the letter did not give the student's name or the circumstances of his death. police are not treating thi as a uspicious death. >> i'm deeply upset. the school is upset. >> reporter:chargo high sool is bringing in counselors to help students deal with their grief. because of nbc's 4 changing minds initiative, we came here eoto the prince ge's county crisis response system asking about the help the students need. >> to make sure that students don't isolate themselves, that

with more than 2 billion users around the world, no one can dispute that facebook is a social media giant, but now one f the men who helped to launch the company says it's gotten too big. and in a lengthy op-edtoday, he's calling for regulators to break it up. erika gonzalez is in our newsroom withs. the deta >> chris hughes is mark zuckerberg's former college roommate. he worked with facebook until about 2007 and sold off his shares of the company about five years ago or i should say five years later. now he says that he and others should have sounded an alarm earlier. hughes writes he's disappointed that he and other early team members di a't thinkut how the new feed algorithm could change our selections and empower nationalist leaders. hughes is also critical of zuckerberg writing, quote, mark is a good, kind erson, but i'm angry that his focus on growth

a possible casef mistaken identity led to a homeowner opening fire. >> he shot a suspected intruder, but it turns out they know each other. the homeowner called police after opening fire along reyna drive in centerville in morning. >> northern virginia reporter david culver is live with what we're learning aboutthe police investigation. david. >> reporter: jim and wenea, ly on in this investigation, police relate to us that the victim walked into that town home behind me, caught the homeowner by surprise. a moment later a gunshot rang out and then police swarmed this area. they rushed in. crime scene tape across raina drive. police going in and carrng evidence out of the town home. neighbors searching for up dates on their phone. greg gardener has lived here two

the country. it's better here in d.c. where we have such good access to medical care but still it's about 20 days wait here. researchers found 90% saw their conditions worsen while waiting. as for the reason why, some experts say there aren't enough doctors to keep up with demand, but others believe the dermatologist may be saving for cosmetic procedures like, bot laser hair removal which are more profitable. here are four things you can do to speed up the process. don't wait until the last minute, especially if you know you need a routine appointment. if your skinondition is painful or spreading, voice those concerns when you call to make an appointment. you may need immediate care at an emergency room. ask if you can book a quicker appointment with a nurse practitioner or a physician's assistant. finally, look into telemedicine

get quotes for one. >> i said i'll have to take a look at it myself. >> paul lombardi stopped by to do oonan estimate. he says the so-called homeowner said he wouldn't be there ecause he was hospitalized in england. the red flag went up when the man latersked him to wire money to a subcontractor for other work. >> i knew something was fishy when he wanted me to manage the interior people and i couldn't meet themin person. i told him i'm not doing anything until i see the interior person in person. >> following his gut, he call the number on the for sale sign. >> i called stacey and she informed me it's a big scam. from e is an actual email the scammer showing how it works. the scammer agreed to pay the contractor $10,000 but wts to send a credit card number via email. he tells the contractor to keep about $2,600 for a deposit on

the roof, then tells him to wire the remaining $7,000 to the subcontractor. but what the contractor would later find out isthat the credit card number was stolen and that $7,000 went to the scammer, not a subconweactor. >> l, i was very concerned for my sellers, because if one of these contractors slipped ndhrough the cracks actually performed the work and put the new roof on the property, then realizes he wasn't going to geti paid, whetherwas from the legitimate owner or the scammer, ien onld put a mechanics le e property which puts a cloud on the title and we can't sell the propeloy until that c has been cleared. >> so what can you do to protect yourself? >> make friends with the neighbo and let them know your house is going to be up for sale. you will be expecting people to comend visit the property, about you you're not expecting any work to be done. >> no one fell for the scam this time around and stacey hopes sharing her story will remind others to be vigilant in every
