had indy fallen to 0-2 they would have been in a hole early in the season. >> would have been a deep hole. i was very, very impressed with houston today. they followed up on a big emotional win with a different type of win. they are down 17 points on the road, were having trouble runni the ball and matt schaub had to bring them back and win this game. these are the type of gaps, the last two weeks, where they have got a sense now they are a very good football team and i don't think people are going to want to play them in the coming weeks. >> tony, you were peyton's coach the first time he faced his brother eli. this time eli ma much more success. a young pup then and people expected peyton to prevail. but looked at this as a rivalry being a little bit closer and all peyton tonight. knowing how close the brothers are, don't you suspect even though he happy with his own perform answer and his team's performance but in a sense it's a tough night for peyton manning. >> this is a very tough night.

someone until she got home and saw the victim's bike underneath her escalade. here's dorothy spencer. >> reporter: natasha pettigrew was struck and critically injured while riding her bike on central avenue in largo early sunday morning. police say, the driver who at first didn't realize she hit someone did not remain on the scene. >> she is unconscious. she suffered massive inu[ies. massive head trauma, broken ribs. she lost a kidney in the surgery. broken knee. >> reporter: pettigrew was struck near the intersection at cams wayat 5:30 in the morning. the driver thoug she hit a dog or deer. once she returned home, she discovered pettigrew's bike under her cillac escalade and called authories. >> pettigrew's mother has a lot of questions.

the streets were quiet in afghanistan's capital today.ç elections have brought a rash of violence and claims of voter fraud. votes a still being counted following saturdas election. meanwhile, at least 14 people were killed in attacks across the country. however, afghanistan saw less violence during this year's election than last year's. this time around, however, it looks like low voter turnout and fraud accusations could test the government's credibility. it will be october before we know who won. work on the third tonguele is under way in chile where 33 miners have been trapped for nearly two months now. officials say a new drill will be able to break through 90 feet of rock a day. it has reachedhe miners about 2,000 feet belo ground. after that, the rescuers will have to make certain the tunnel is strong enough so it doesn't collapse when they try to pull those miners out. if there are no problems, the men could be out in about a month. former secretary of state colin poll wants members of his party to take a hard look at

actor randy quaid and his wife are in trouble again. there's their mug shot again, right there. police arrested the couple yesterday after they got a couple about the quaids squatting in their former home. the current owner of the property has the proper papers saying otherwise. the quaids with are charged with burglary this time. they were charged earlier this year and they had to serve some time in jail for not paying a $10,000 hotel bill. after five months and 5 million barrels of gushing oil, the broken well in the gulf has

been permanently sealed. crews tested the cement plug one more time before bp andfederal officials declared the well dead. while the well itself no longer poses a thrt, the work in the gulf is far from over for all of those who live and work there, president oba has promised his administration will continue to work closely with gulf coast residents and businesses to help in their recovery. as hurricane igor is now a category 1 storm, it's rapidly approaching bermuda. while igor has weakened somewhat, the popular vacation island will most lily take a rect hit. big waves, driving rains have caused some damage on the island. that eye is expected to pass over bermuda late tonight, perhaps early tomorrow morning. bermuda's power company says that nearly 20,000 customers are already in the dark. >> not going to take a last-minute chance on a wobble. i checked with the hurricane center, the eye wall itself was 25 miles just to the west of bermuda. if it stays off to the west, it

will bypass most of the island but it will be really close and hurricane force winds extend outwards nearly 100 miles from the center. the entire island of bermuda is going to spend all night tonight being battered by hurricane force winds. that's 74 miles an hor, sustained winds with gusts still close to 100. it's not a good night in bermuda. here in washington all is clear and quiet outside. i'll show you the great satellite picture on igor in just a second. the high temperature made it up to 85 degrees after a 61 degree start early this morning. now here as we close in on the midnight ho, 73 degrees is our current temperature. winds have come back around to the northwest at 7 miles an hour. temperaturesç mostly in the 60 and low 70s. pretty much area wide at this point. there's the islan bermuda, there's this massive hurricane o here. igor. look how closehe eye wall is, just barely off to the west side of the island of bermuda. that's going be an ugly night in bermuda, no doubt about it.

they're still expecting anywhere between 5 and 10 inches of rain and they're in all likelihood going to have winds gusting close to 100 miles anour from now all the way until the sun comes up tomorrow morning. not to mention 30 to 40-foot wav offshore. a huge storm for bermuda. for us, we've been saved by this area of high pressure and this trailing cold front. that's going to bring in some cooler weather as we get into torrow and tuesday. but that cool stretch won't last long. as the high moves away, the southwesterly flood gates open once again. temperatures back into the upper 80s, pushing 90 degrees by wednesday and thursday. to get your day started ti tomorrow morning, partly cloudy skies, mild, 63 in town, tomorrow, a mix of clouds and sunshine, cooler than today. take some of thedge off of the september weather. breezy at times. winds tomorrow out of the northwest 15 to 25 miles an hour. highs should make it up to 80 for a brief time tomorrow. a nice cool night monday night.
