>> go to work, everybody, i'm matt o'donnell, tam is off, jeanette reyes joins us. we have coverage at the jersey shore and along the schuylkill expressway in philadelphia philadelphia, pennsylvania. >> let's go over to david murphy and karen rogers good morning. >> reporter: it's mostly just wet in spots. >> reporter: a change over to snow is possible. we have a change to snow up along the new york/pennsylvania border right now. as you see we're looking on storm tracker 6 live double scan, at heavyain that's pushing through philadelphia and heading up toward trenton, as well. if we move this, you can see the movement. there's a little bit of a lull developing out to the west, parts of chester county getting into a dry slot same thing in parts of south jersey and state of delaware. once this heavy band moves away we'll get a lull for the rest of the morning commute. we'll changeover to snow dipping

down toward the delaware and lehigh valleys later on in the afternoon. we talked about these issues yesterday, they are in play nowm philadelphia, north and east, there's an aerial flood advisory that covers the neighboring counties. everybody has to watch out for flooded roads. the big issue is the high wind mornings today and saturday morning, the windsust as high as 50 miles per hour and higher at the shore. look for trees coming down, wires, power outages possible, the worst timing of the highest winds will be from noon to midnight tonight. down the shore, a coastal flood watch this is good for high tides around 7 to 9:00 a.m. again this evening, and tomorrow morning, minor to merate coastal flooding if y to batten down the hatches and get ready for that. up in the poconos, a winter storm warning in effect in the poconos. it's an advisory added to north hampton county, cities like

bethlehem and easton could see roads a little bit slick as we get the changeover to wet snow later on. the big issues in the poconos. we'll detail this as it gets through and the weekend call up ahead, karen. >> reporter: we have a big accident with a jackknifed tractor-trailer blocking two lanes. it just moving better. this is the blue route northbound past the schuylkill expressway. you're driving on the wet roads, but no accidents any more. an improvement. we have an accident on the pennsylvania turnpike, westbound approaching norristown not affecting speeds too much at this point, but is blocking the left lane, but it may cause a slow go, watch for that on the turnpike. we have an accident on the nortr es of if you'renner lanes, stick heading out, worried about the big nor'easter, the morning badf accidents, i-95 southbound traffic very light volume heading toward center city and

moving just fine. >> let's head to the jersey shore where coastal thrugd is a conc in atla go bob. >> reporter: good morning, matt, we have good news right now things not too bad. we have a mist going right now. i want to step out of the way and give you a look at the water, you can hear it crashing against the rocks, sort of in a lull, nothing too serious happening. according to the fire chief in atlantic city it's going to be a major street flooding event when the high tides come because of the storm, people want to move there cars from -- their cars from low-lying areas. we'll expect rain and wind. some of the cities are preparing for beach erosion. waves can climb as high as 15 feet high. that will take a toll on the

dunes. keep your cars on higher grounds and keep your eye on things when the high tide comes in. >> there will be a lot more water we're anticipating, something like jonas two years ago, 2015, 2016. we're prepared we put our high-water vehicles in service. we have got the personal protective clothing for our firefighters, waders and dry suits all our water response resources staging throughout the city. >> the police have their flag time vehicles that will block off the streets that flood keep traffic out. we've asked people to put their cars in low areas put their cars in higher areas. the wind we'll deal with, there's not much we can do about that, hope for the best. >> reporter: back out here live, certainly hope for the best, fire chief said they will expect

david murphy say wind and rain and heavy, wet snow. the wind a big factor because it can knock down trees and power lines and traffic lights and knock out electricity. penndot says hundreds of workers on standby to respond if they are needed. both penndot and peco crews tell "action news" they are prepared for whatever mother nature brings. we're planning to use all our guys, they will be running our routes as soon as any mix precipitation or snow starts to fall. there's challenges with the storm, we want the motorist to be aware the winds are especially high. so back out live, the wind probably a big factor with the storm, penndot saying they don't expect this to be a big plowing operation, but they are ready, weather advice from peco, they say because of the wind expected with the system, please use caution. if you see the downed power lines, don't go near them, call

peco because they necessary repairs. live on the schuylkill expressway, gray hall channel 6 "action news." >> those in new castle county are looking to prevent flooding from delaware river. delaware city put up retaining walls and installed two portable pumps to handle spillover and also a third pump is on standby. >> it's going to be tough getting through the day. >> reporter: the wind is going to be the big issue for people, especially in the afternoon as the winds pick up. the rain has picked up. we have heavy bands highlighted in yellow around philadelphia, i'll move this for you, there's the movement off to the northeast. we're seeing things dry out a little bit west of philadelphia. the lighter rain out by wilmington and lancaster is kind of spreading away from from us d falling apart.

for now if you're in philadelphia, bucks county, montgomery county to a degree and by trenton you have heavy rain coming through. we're seeing some of that along the a-c expressway through camden county and gloucster county and the northern edge of atlantic county that stuff farther into atlantic county is not as pronounced. tacking -- taking you outside, wet conditions in center city. we'll have wet snow that will have t basic effect on the roadways. winds sustained at 17 miles per hour. we'll see higher gusts and during the afternoon very high gusts. you can see the colder air to the north and west of us, changing that over to snow as that comes in, we'll see that change here, as well. in the lehigh valley, rain mixing with wet snow, high winds

high temperatures only in the 40s today. probably low 40s, more of the same down the shore, no wet snow in all likelihood, mostly rain, tidal flooding will be an issue tonight and tomorrow morning, and temperatures are in the low 40s for today. in philadelphia, we might pop up to 43, we'll spend most of the day on or about 40 degrees, windy, the rains picking up to 50 miles per hour, some issues with wet snow we might have small accumulations. future tracker 6 has wet snow mixing in down to philadelphia at 9:00 a.m. this might be jumping the gun a little bit. we may have to wait until the afternoon for this to happen. pay atten the poconos you're below freezing, the rest of the of us are above freezing from noon to 3:00 p.m. if you get wet snow all the way down to wildwood it's sitting on the grass not the roads.
