5:00 a.m., thursday, march 1. we're following breaking news. >> firefighters are battling a house fire in burlington county, when they arrived flames were shooting out of the home as two people were rushed to the hospital. reading, writing and weapons, a local police department is ready to fire armed officers to stand guard prepared to act when necessary. >> it's time for a coastal storm. accuweather is tracking a system that packs rain, wind, and maybe snow. you want to know about what's coming, let's go over to david murphy with the details and karen rogers is helping with the morning commute. >> reporter: a girl could get used to the 60-degree temperature. >> reporter: maybe a guy too.

we're focusing on the weather, as we look at the weather center, storm tracker 6 live shows areas to the southwest and areas to our south. as this starts to come in, the coastal storm will increase the chances of wind and changeover to rain or snow. a lot of things to look forward to over the next 24 to 48 hours. a flood watch north and east of philadelphia. a coastal flood watch as the storm forms. winter storm watch in the poconos, as well. let's break it down to for you. coastal flood watch starts this evening, into saturday evening, minor to moderate tidal flooding there. we have a straight flood watch philadelphia to montgomery county points to of allentown and east through trenton because of possible heavy rain. high wind watch friday into saturday. across the entire region we could have wind gusts 50 miles per hour and maybe higher than

and jefferson streets. police have not told us the victim's condition. debate over how to keep schools safe continues. a south jersey police department has decided to recruit a special type of officer to keep students safe. jeanette reyes is live in evesham township with the police department's plan. good morning, jennette. >> reporter: good morning, matt, it's important to know that the plan was in the works long before the tragedy in southern florida, but the police department chief saying that the goal here to have someone fully armed and trained to nearlyize a threat and hopefully save lives. >> other teachers are pretty much talking about it, doing escape routes and ways to get out. it kind of worries me. >> reporter: while the national conversation around gun control and arming teachers intensifies, one police department is taking matters into their own hands. evesham township is recruiting former police officers to place

the white house could unveil president trump's plan to prevent gun violence as early as today. among the proposal would raise the age on all gun purchases to 21. two companies have announced they are making changes to what goes on in their stores. walmart will no longer sell firearms of any kind nor ammunition to anyone under the age of 21. walmart stopped selling assault style weapons after the charleston church shooting. dick's announced it will not sell guns to anyone under 21. they will no longer sell assault rifles to their field and stream stores. the retail chain ceo a gun owner himself urged lawmakers to pass gun reform measures. police in bucks county
