morning. >> storm tracker 6 shows the entire delaware and lehigh valley soaked in green and yellow. we're taking our eyes on potential flooding for the region. >> the big story is our sunday soaker. we are under an accuweather alert this morning. >> this morning heavy rain is causing problems across the entire tri-state area. we're getting this video from the wilmington bureau. you can see the river is flowing over its banks due to the rain we got overnight. >> let's take a look via sky 6hd. that is the commodore barry bridge. you can see visibility is really bad. it has been raining all night and all morning causing big problems and the water is not shutting off any time soon. meteorologist chris sowers has been monitoring the conditions and skwoins us with the very latest from accuweather. >> good morning. we started out with the heavy rains why yesterday evening, it's been raining all night. we've got a couple of pockets

that have pulled through the last 12 hours but there's still more off to the southwest. last night the heaviest rain fell here, the heart of south jersey. this batch that came through this morning also fell heavily across south jersey and if you look at the trajectory of this band here just to the southeast of baltimore and dc, it looks like that is going to run right over south jersey and delaware as well. so we're getting what's called training. a lot of times we use that term during the summer months when we have thunderstorms in a row that run over the same areas over and over again sort of like train cars on a track. that's what we're seeing here and because of that north and west we've picked up .75 to an inch of rain. we still have much more to come. here's our storm tracker from ocean county seaside heights -- sandy hook through belmar and into seaside heights that's the rain that came through earlier

this morning. lighter shades of green for most of the immediate philadelphia area, we're catching a bit of a break right now but there's another round waiting in the wings. millville up to 2.5 inches, dover 2.3, atlantic city 1.9, williamston, and 1.4 -- north and west of the delaware river, 1.15, reading and allentown right around half inch of rain. but again more is coming north and west as well. flood warning continues until 1:00 this afternoon. this area has been hit pretty hard. they've seen over 3 inches of rain getting a lot of reports now of minor low lying and poor drainage flooding. some of the smaller creeks and streams. by afternoon things start to wind down. look how mild that high is.

warning about a potential lethal batch of heroin. there has been at least 4 suspected overdoses connected to the batch and the evesham township police department is concerned about more possible overdoses. they're urging that you if or anyone you know might be overdosing, call 911 right away. drug overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in the united states. >> the philadelphia decht of prisons is -- department of prisons is reviewing its policy after an inmate was shot during an attempted car jacking. jamal bennett was just released when he attempted to steal an off duty corrections officer vehicle. that officer got into a fight with bennett and shot him in the chest. the parking lot is used by inmates, their families, guests and employees and it's an arrangement that has been criticized by the local

corrections officer union. >> the parking arrangement and the shared parking with civilians and the house of correction has been in place over 20 years. >> reporter: >> bennett is in the hospital in critical condition but he is expected to survive and he will be facing new charges. >> funeral services will be held for one of lasalle university's all-time basketball greats and his wife. the school will host the services for rasul butler and his wife. they were killed in a car crash in january in los angeles. butler attended roman catholic high school and is lasalle's fourth all-time leading scorer. and a memorial will be held to honor a corrections officer killed during a riot in a delaware prison. he died during the 18-hour standoff last february. he was a 16-year veteran of the department of directions.

the governor will be among those attending the memorial this afternoon. >> from our new jersey news room governor phil murphy has joined more than a dozen states suing president trump. together and separately filed three lawsuits against the administration since president trump took office. phil murphy promising to resist president trump at every turn. this morning president trump is appealing for what he calls due process for two of his former staffers who are accused of domestic abuse. the president tweeting out that yesterday, quote, people's lives were being destroyed by mere allegation. he also said that some are true, some are false. the president did not mention ex white house speech writer david sorenson or ralph porter by name. porter was forced out after both

of his ex-wives accused hiv during abuse. both men denying those claims. >> many would say he was quarterback nick foles owned the patriots and google taking that literally. if you did a google search last night or early this morning asking who owns the patriots, the response you got was nick foles but that is not accurate. we all know robert kraft is actually the owner. a google search once named tom brady as the owner of the new york jets. >> eagles fever has not died down since the spectacular super bowl win or the amazing victory parade. and this weekend some dedicated fans decided to memorialize forever with body ink. trish hartman got a first look at some of the new birds' tattoos. >> reporter: if you had to come up with an image that is

>> this morning more snow is expected to fall in chicago. chicago has had nine days in a row of measurable snowfall. who would want this? o'hare and midway airports have actually canceled more than 140 flights due to all that wintry weather. >> i was going to complain about the rain, but maybe not. >> we could always have it worse, right? i do have some good news for you

guys, and this really pains me to talk about this. i'm looking at what's called, it's long range stuff. it goes out a good six weeks, and if it's correct, winter is done for the rest of the month and then it returns in march. so you kind of get a break this month, but then it comes back. >> i don't qualify that as good news. >> it's kind of good news. we'll get you started here with a view looking down on penn's landing. and this is one of the problems that we're dealing with this morning. we've had a lot of very heavy rain over the last couple of hours so we're seeing a lot of standing water on the roads and obviously you can see behind me the visibility has been greatly impacted so you need to slow it down over the next couple of hours. the heaviest is during the morning hours and then it will start to ease up a little bit as the afternoon wears on. if we can take this there we go. so we're zoomed into northern

portions of our viewing area, belmar the jersey shore and sandy hook all the way down to seaside heights. the rain is coming down heavily within this line. so heavy in fact that if you're traveling along the garden state parkway and you're entering ocean and monmouth counties you may have to pull over and let this line pull through. everything begins to lighten up a little bit though. we see the lighter shades of green in and around the immediate philadelphia area. here's the next batch. this is coming in across the southern portions of our viewing area where we are picking up a few lightning streets here. a couple of thunderstorms developing now to the west of dover and smyrna. all of that activity is pushing off to the northeast at about 20-25 miles per hour. so the heaviest rain will occur during the morning hours, and by afternoon it begins to ease up a little bit. it's going to be gray and gloomy out there, but we won't be talking about that driving rain which makes it unbearable at

times. somewhat of a break now an here comes the next batch of heavier rains which will push through let's say interior sections of south jersey within the next hour or two. we have a couple of flood advisories. this one right here is in effect until 10:00 a.m. and this box right here, which includes the immediate philadelphia area, that advisory is in effect until noon. both areas have picked up a good 1-2 inches of rain with more rain on the way. we're starting to see the minor flooding now in those low-lying areas and areas of poor drainage. along with the heavy rains, visibility has been reduced in some locations. 1.5 in philadelphia, 4 miles in trenton and only .8 mile in wildwood. periods of heavier rain this morning winding down as the afternoon comes. steadier rains for south jersey and delaware. once that pulls through all the heavy rain is gone at that point.

we'll see cloudy skies, maybe a little bit of patchy drizzle or the occasional light rain but the heavy stuff is gone by about 3:00 this afternoon. and by 7:00 this evening, cloudy and damp maybe a little bit of light drizzle perhaps a shower or two to the north. temperatures, 60 degrees in philadelphia, 62 in millville. after midnight tonight the cold front finally sweeps through. winds will shift out of the northwest the numbers will begin to drop off. unseasonably warm weather expected out there today. for the remainder of the morning, expect pockets of heavy rain, minor flooding in those areas that typically flood. greatly reduced visibility in some locations. take it easy out there. 63 degrees today, heavy morning rain, millville 63, dover 66. and then overnight tonight a lot of these numbers don't occur until morning. 38 in reading, 44 in philadelphia and millville 47. light rain this evening tapering off to just cloud cover and maybe a little bit of patchy drizzle and mist after midnight.

levels here in the u.s. but they are not calling it a pandemic. right now there are as many sick people as there were in the 2009 swine flu pandemic but the term pandemic is reserved for new viruses and this year's dominant strain has been around for a while. what's new is that the rate of "b" strains has gone up early this season so many people are suffering through a second round of flu infections. a 35 is fighting both strains at once along with a case of pneumonia. >> type "a" cases are more than last year as well but when you put "a" and "b" together you

have a lot of sick people in the community. >> the cdc says this is something it has never seen. some states have gone from red stage to orange are now red again showing a resurgence in flu cases. >> experts say kids with food allergies are often put at risk by their own parents. according to a new study, nearly half of parents reported at least one risky behavior such as not carrying an epipen or not reading the food labels. researchers say the they are due to misconceptions, a lack of knowledge and financial challenges. of those children who had allergic reactions, a third had to be treated in the emergency room. 5% had to go to the hospital.

bay region. this is kent county here, new castle county. from middle town all the way into dover we're picking up pockets of heavy rain, even a couple of thunderstorms being reported now. look at all the cloud-to-ground lightning strikes around the dover area. this is racing off to the east northeast around 20-25 miles per hour. it will be this area here that will be picking up the additional heavy rains within the next hour or so. even into hammonton, it looks like this pocket of heavy rain here will greet you guys within the next half hour. the problem is this is the area that's already picked up the rains. we have a flood advisory in effect for this entire area. we have a flood advisory until 10:00 a.m. where 1.5-2 inches of rain has already fallen. we don't need any more rain, unfortunately, pockets of heavier rain are on the way and that will only create more flooding problems in those

low-lying areas and areas of poor drainage. jersey shore, cloudy and damp, maybe a thunderstorm later on. philadelphia rain, 63. even the poconos it's mild a high of 46. and there's a ton of cold air out here to the west but it's not charging east. the cold air is diving like this and in response this warm air is racing to the north. it's almost like a see saw and it's going down this way. we see mild conditions almost all week long. it's going to turn a little cooler on tuesday but even that is still above seasonal averages. not too bad along the east coast. winter in full effect out there across the west. >> your time now 9:25. there is a new warning this morning about scammers who are out there trying to take your money. >> can cost you hundreds of dollars as they try to trick you into paying up to keep warm this winter. >> reporter: cold temperatures impacting millions of people,

phone scammers are using a new tactic to take your money. barbara leeman once thought she would never get duped. >> why would anybody fall for this stuff. oh, my goodness. now i know. >> reporter: but she did. when a caller told her he was from the america electric power company and asked her to pay 350 bucks as part of a new policy on deposits. at first she was suspicious. >> i said i'm going to call the company and check on this. >> reporter: so the scammers gave her a direct number to call. easing her fears. and when she thought she was speaking with another employee from the electric company, she gave up her credit card number. >> he said i'll tell you what, if you don't pay this we're shutting off your electricity. >> reporter: according to the better business bureau, if you feel pressure for immediate payment or personal information, hang up the phone and call the customer service number on your utility bill. authorities want to remind people to never give out personal information like bank account and credit card numbers

if you get that call. >> prepare for higher cell phone bills this year. both t mobile and sprint saying that they will cut back on discounts. this coming after talks of a merger between the two broke down just last year. it is a dreary, rainy day. we have sky 6hd over philadelphia right near penn's landing. >> as we switch over to the philadelphia international airport it is just as bad there. so far however, no word about any delays or cancelations because of all this rain. >> and down the shore in cape may, same story.

the rain making it hard to see the ocean or anything else. >> of course it's an accuweather alert morning. meteorologist chris sowers has been monitoring storm tracker 6 all morning long. chris, when is it going to move out of here? >> it looks like this afternoon it begins to taper off. only one warning and everybody else seeing a little bit of rain at this time. the heaviest rain falling south of the philadelphia area pushing through the delaware bay region. cumberland county and eastern portions of kent county. that heavier cell near dover has actually produced a couple of cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. you can see all the flashing going on. we've had 5 to 10, cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. pushing over the delaware bay, this will continue to pull off to the northeast at about 20-25 miles per hour, heavy rain expected across the interior of

southern new jersey over the next half hour or so. glass like glassboro, this whole area is going to pick up heavy rains shortly. behind this we have another round of heavier rain waiting in the wings. this is what came through between 6:00 and 7:00 this morning. this is pushing through now and more heavy rains to the southeast of baltimore and dc. every single batch has to swing through before we can finally clear things out later this afternoon. as i mentioned earlier in the broadcast, it's like training going over the same areas over and over again that's why we have the flood advisories because the ground is saturated and we're adding to the misery. here's the good news. this is a warm front right here. this will lift off to the northwest over the next couple of hours and as it swings through philadelphia, temperatures behind it will surge all the way up into the 60s later this evening. so for today heavy morning rain, it tapers off after lunchtime. after that it's cloudy with drizzle maybe the occasional

police responding to that call of a shooting just after midnight. they say when they got to the scene, they found the victim in his 20s dead on the street. this morning there is no word about a motive or any arrest. and police are also looking for suspects in another shooting on a north philadelphia street. the action cam also at the scene outside the prime time sports bar on the 3400 block of north water street. they say they found a man with a bullet injury to his body. he had staggered to the sports bar just before midnight after getting shot about a block away. the victim was taken to temple university hospital where there's no word about his condition. police have not been able to make any arrests. >> breaking news from russia. a passenger plane carrying 71 people has crashed near moscow. the regional jet had just taken off. russian authorities say they have found fragments of the

airliner. we'll continue to monitor the story and bring you the latest here on action news and here on 6abc.com. back in the u.s. a security breach at los angeles international airport overnight. a man jumped a fence and pulled a fire extinguisher from a rear well of a plane that was about to take off. at this point police say there is no indication the man is connected to terrorism. >> your time now is 9:34. two police officerness ohio were shot and killed while responding to a domestic incident. it happened in westerville, a suburb of columbus. a man opened fire on those officers as they baukd toward the home. westerville's police chief calling the officers true american heros. >> these were two of the best we

have. >> the officers were a 30-year and 17-year veterans of the force. a go fund me page has been set up for the victims' families. the suspect is in the hospital with a gunshot injury. >> tensions have escalated among israel and iran and syria that began with a shootdown of a drone. the israeli team crashed in israel. it's the first israeli jet shot down since 2006. the pilots were ejected and are in thetal. the u.s. state department says it strongly supports israel's right to defend itself.

iran denies one of its drones flu over israel. >> amtrak says it will pay for last weekend's fatal crash in south carolina even if the company is not found responsible. two employees were killed and 116 people injured when an amtrak train was mistakenly diverted to a side track and crashed into a csx freight train. investigators are looking into whether csx is responsible for that diversion but amtrak will pay for the accident because of negotiations between the company and the railroad. >> happening tomorrow, president trump is expected to unfail his budget proposal. it's expected to call for a $3 billion payment. the trump administration wants the money to build 60 miles of steel fencing along the border and another 60 miles of fencing next year. the $3 billion will be on top of this year's $14 billion request.

trump has been using wall funding as a bargaining chip. >> the immigration debate expected to heat up on capitol hill. lawmakers have until march 5th to pass a legislative fix or risk the deportation of roughly 700,000 immigrants brought into the country illegally. he took advantage of a legal loophole. >> this loophole is easily exploited by ms13 which now operates in at least 40 states. in addition to ms13, many other gangs are breaking into our country routinely because our laws are so week, so sad, so pathetic. >> in the video the president recalled a recent white house round table in which he again called for ending entry to extended families via lottery. >> police officers call out some

show you a live sky 6. we're going to try and kick this rain out of here but unfortunately it's going to take most of the day before that happens. this is going to be a soggy one. the funny thing was yesterday wasn't much better yet that's going to end up being the better of the two weekend days. as we flip it over to the radar, storm tracker showing plenty of rain, pushing through interior sections of south jersey. you can see the yellows and the oranges and this line of red here. this is racing off to the northeast here at about 20-25 miles per hour. once this pulls through we have one more band of heavy rain to go, after that comes through around 11:00 this morning, things will start to wind down. it's still going to be raining but lighter rains. occasionally just a mist or a drizzle. here's the zoomed-in shot. this is cumberland county, soaking driving rain at this point.

glassboro, even in salem we're seeing heavy rain as well. the movement is from southwest to northeast. so this round in the process of pushing through now and you have this one batch once this pulls through that will be the end of the heaviest rain. a lot of rain up over 2 inches of rain with this still to come. north and west it's been a little bit lighter we've only picked up about an inch in philadelphia, only half inch in the lehigh valley and the poconos. moderate rain will start falling if it hasn't yet begun but your rainfall totals are going to be lighter north and west of the city. we still have one flood warning in effect for kent county until 1:00 this afternoon. it also includes places like smyrna where 3 inches of rain has fallen and we are seeing problems in some of the smaller creeks and streams are starting to flood as well. it's minor but it could be

dangerous if you're not careful. visibility wise the dense fog advisory has been dropped. we are seeing the visibility severely impacted by all this rain. 63 degrees is today's forecasted high. the normal is 43. we started out at 50. that's warmer than the normal high for this time of the year. our normal low should be around 27 degrees and we have this warm front slicing new jersey right in half. this should continue to push to the northwest over the next several hours. behind it temperatures are very, very mild. right around 40 degrees north and west. a tremendous difference in temperature here with this front. gets about as far west of philadelphia and the cold front slides through. even there for february standards it's going to be mild.

by 2:30, moderate rain. lighter stuff in the immediate philadelphia area, and there's your front starting to push through, 60 in philadelphia, 46 in allentown, everybody pulls back overnight after midnight. 30s north and west tomorrow morning. low 40s for south jersey and delaware. pockets of heavy rain this morning, minor flooding expected in those areas that typically flood during heavier rain events. visibility impacted and slow it down on the roadways. leave a lot of distance between you and the car in front of you. heavy morning rains, fog, 63 degrees today. the idea is for that heavy rain to occur this morning and cloudy with the occasional shower or drizzle by the afternoon. 61 degrees by 4:00. the accuweather 7-day forecast. it's a very mild day. every day with the exception of next saturday is above average.

sunday morning. look at this live shot sky 6hd, penn's landing area. raining and gloomy all morning long. the rain will eventually move out but it's going to be gray all day. one woman completed a monumental task. she is the first woman to write a torah for a texas synagogue. wow, that's impressive. she is one of the only ten women qualified to carry out that work. it took her 18 months to finish the intricate writing on a scroll. the torah is the first five books of the hebrew bible. synagogues attempt to have their own handwritten copies to be used during religious ceremonies. until recently only men wroo the torah. >> we are here at the action news big board with a look at technically speaking. you don't have to miss another major moment in sports no matter where you are.

that's because the disney company has announced a new subscription called espn plus. the app will carry espn's popular 30 for 30 series which highlights the network's documentaries about significant people and events in sports. the streaming service will cost 4. $4.99 a month. disney is the parent company of 6abc. move over google and microsoft. the company says it's working on a service code numbered yeti. it would allow people to play games streamed online that would potentially eliminate the need for a dedicated console. google is hoping for a 2019 holiday season release date for yet ifrks. take a look at the world's first passenger drone. newly developed device features the computer does all the

watch continues throughout the entire viewing area. this is right through the evening hours, pocket of heavy rain will continue over the next couple of hours. some locations have already picked up 2-3 inches of rain and as far as the flooding threat, really it continues to be what we were thinking yesterday mainly on the roads.

a lot of standing water on roads, low lying areas and areas of poor drainage. both those are on the high side. creek, streams, probably not a lot of flooding on major rivers. standing water and low lying areas are of biggest concern. what we have going on here, there's a front like this. off to our west and it is slowly drifting to the east at about 10, 15 miles per hour. and what's happening is we're seeing wave after wave of low pressure ride ago long this front moving to the northeast. the front has to clear the area before we can finally clear things out. and unfortunately this front is moving so slowly, you see how it impacted yesterday, it's going to do the same thing with today's weather and after midnight tonight that's when the front should cross the area and skies will start to clear out a little bit. tomorrow promises to be a much brighter looking day. we'll have some clouds out there from tommy too tommy. for today rain and a thunderstorm, philadelphia 63

over its banks. this is all due to the rain we got overnight. >> let's take a look outside at philadelphia international airport. we have not received any word on delays or consolations but dbs cancelations. it has been raining all night and all morning causing big problems and the water is not shutting off any time soon. meteorologist chris sowers has been tracking it. >> that's part of the video that we just showed, part of the problem that we're seeing right now. we had a lot of heavy rain overnight, a ton of heavy rain this morning and we're still seeing pockets of heavy rain right now. some of the smaller tributaries begin to fill up and move into some of the bigger creeks and streams and rivers. during the late morning hours we're going to have to watch things closely. as of now things beginning to quiet down a little bit across the extreme southern portions of our viewing area. we have this cell here and rains around the moderate philadelphia area. this is atlantic city.

heavy rains, mays landing, same thing. very heavy rains. this is racing off to the northeast at 20 miles per hour. but if you get underneath this you'll probably have to pull over briefly it's coming down that heavily. this extends south ward to areas just east of the morris town river there. the next zoom will take us a little bit farther to the west in and around the immediate philadelphia area to center city and heavier rains are off to the east across western portions of gloucester and camden counties and interior sections of south jersey. and lighter stuff off to the northwest. here's the wider view. again everything racing off to the northeast and really that's the saving grace, the fact that these cells are moving so quickly because if they were moving slower with the amount of rain that's falling underneath some of these cells, we would have tremendous flooding problems. fortunately things are moving along quickly. this came through early this

morning, this is punching through now, that will pull through during the late morning hours. once that third and final heavy round of precipitation pulls through, that's when things begin to ease up a little bit. rainfall totals as of 9:00 this morning. millville almost 2.5 inches. dover 2.3, atlantic city, 1.9, williamstown, 1.6 and if you're a snow lover just in case you were curious it's a 10 to 1 ratio. temperatures are in the 50s there. north and west on the other side of the delaware river, doylestown a little bit more than an inch. and reading and allentown a half inch so far. i'll be back with i'll let you know when this rain finally pulls out. >> we are keeping our eye on a few areas. >> bob brooks joins us from cooper river park in pennsauken with more on the conditions

there. bob, what are you seeing? >> reporter: good morning. we have a little bit of a rainy day. it's been raining for quite a few hours and it's just picked up again here we're getting what looks like another band through here and behind me you can see the river is high. we're not seeing anything come over just yet but in some other areas, it's really getting nasty. i want to bring up video, this is down in wilmington at the brandy wine river. really high definitely a spot we're going to want to keep an eye on. we have some other video, this is route 13 southbound down in the new castle area. the roads there starting to flood, water starting to pile up. pockets of that making the conditions driving not so conducive so people are going to want to keep an eye on that for sure and back up in philadelphia i want to bring up our video. this is on lincoln drive. we're told this is off of the creek just like chris was

he was just released when he attempted to steal an off duty corrections officer's vehicle. that officer got into a fight with bennett and then shot bennett in the chest. the parking lot is used by inmates, their families, guests and employees. an arrangement that has been criticized by the local corrections officers' union. >> the parking arrangement and the shared parking has been in place for over 20 years. >> bennett was taken to the hospital in critical condition but he is expected to survive. and of course he'll be facing new charges. >> happening today, funeral services will be held for one of lasalle university's all-time basketball greats and his wife. the school will host the services for rasul butler and his wife. they were killed in a car crash on january 31st in los angeles. mourners can pay respects from 9:00 to 11:00 this morning. a funeral mass will follow.

he attended roman catholic high school and is lasalle's fourth all-time leading scorer. he spent 13 seasons in the nba. a memorial will be held to honor a corrections officer killed during a riot in a prison. steven floyd was held hostage and died last february. he was a 16-year veteran in the department of directions. the governor will be among those attending the memorial services at the prison this afternoon. >> from our new jersey news room, governor phil murphy has joined more than a dozen states suing president trump's administration. filed about three dozen lawsuits against the administration since president trump took office. phil murphy promising to resist president trump at every turn. and president trump is appealing what he calls due process for

what you're looking at a live picture from milwaukee, wisconsin. the area receives lake effect snow, expected to get another half a foot of snow on top of nearly a foot that just fell a couple of days ago. awful, yuck. >> it's called reverse psychology. maybe that will work to get some snow in here. let's go to the weather center and show you what's going on here. if you haven't already looked out the window, you're going to see a lot of this.

low level clouds and fog and pockets of heavy rain. what you're looking is the view from penn's landing. it's hard to make much out here because of those low level clouds. we have visibilities that have been reduced to less than a mile and on top of that we're still dealing with pockets of heavier rain. here's a zoomed in look on storm tracker. we have a couple of locations we're going to zoom in on. you can see the heavier cell near lower bank this is pushing just east of the atlantic city expressway, the toll plaza. a couple of thunderstorms in this line. white horse pike, black horse pike all of those roads seeing quite a bit of rain this morning. and a bit farther to the west, more rain for newark and wilmington. this activity is also pushing off to the northeast at about 20-25 miles per hour. in case you were wonder and i'm about to show you here in a

minute, there's even more rain heading this way just off the picture there. this is some of the concerns that we're beginning to see now. this is the chester creek. this is a small little creek you can see how it's starting to expand here. all the water running into the tributaries and this going to be the problem over the next couple of hours as those smaller tributaries begin to fill up, they eventually run into the rivers. with the heavy rains and more heavy rains still to come, that's going to be a problem over the next couple of hours. fortunately things will start winding down shortly after midday. we still have this line right here to pull through and it's going to run over the same areas that have already picked up the heavy rains. south jersey and delaware looks like you're under the gun not just for this band here but this as well. moderate rains for southeastern pennsylvania. we have flood advisories in effect. this one has been extended until 2:00 this afternoon.

we've already picked up a good 2 inches of rain here. those areas are beginning to flood as well and this one is in effect until noon. this will also be probably extended over the next couple of hours. visibility-wise, 4 miles in philadelphia, down to one mile in reading, 1.5 miles in wilmington. we this warm front in the process of pushing through. the temperatures on the other side are easily in the 50s and 60s. dover 62, millville 58, upper 30s and low 40s north and west. i don't think the front is going to quite clear the entire viewing area. probably gets hung up along the i-95 corridor. during the first part of the afternoon things ease up, still raining moderately north and west of the delaware river getting into the lehigh valley and poconos by 6:00, 7:00 this evening finally everything clears. we still have a lot of low level clods. patchy drizzle or mist taking

welcome back, everybody. this is a live picture of sky 6hd the philadelphia international airport it's been a pretty dreary day so far. when are things going to change. >> it will get a little bit better later this afternoon but we're still dealing with pockets of very heavy rain across south jersey and delaware. we're zoomed into atlantic and southern ocean counties. it almost appears as a squall line but there's no wind with this. we have a couple of lightning bolts showing up, cloud-to-ground lightning
