good afternoon sara is off and alicia vitarelli joining us. we are getting a look at the "sports illustrated" cover, with nick foles. >> and we have a break down of the oscar nominees. >> the big news is the accuweather alert for a pouring is rain that drenched the region all morning long. >> we have strong winds making for a soggy start for your tuesday. and kind of warm now too. sky 6 hd at the jersey shore, believe it or not that is cape may, as the rain continues to fall. soggy conditions on the beach. and no one out there. for the latest conditions we turn to karen rogers in for david murphy. need the umbrella most of the day today. >> you had the rain through most of the day and what i'm tracking now is the end of the rain.

and you'll see a dramatic change and i want to go in tighter now and show you the last main line we see here. the areas of red and yellow crossing east of philadelphia and heading towards wrightstown and medford and glassboro, new jersey, right now. and we have rain along the coastline and what is happening over the next few hours. it's pretty impressive as far as the amount of rainfall we have seen here. have you to watch as you head out. we have significant rainfall here. and as we look at this, this is a radar estimate to give you an idea how much. look to the north we have two inches of rain near allentown and one inch near reading and near the city itself. not as much and radar estimates reporting a half inch and atlantic city less but raining there. lets take a look at what it shows you on stormtracker 6 live double scan and you get a better sense of all of that moisture that moved through the area, we

started early this morning with thunderstorms and now watching the tail end of that and showers to the west and once the main line moves through you can't rule out a shower and most of it has fallen through the region. lets look at the numbers work track the temperatures and new number in dover, delaware. 62 degrees and 56 in the city and 57 in wilmington and 54 degrees in reading. we have very mild air. the past couple of days with we were in the low 60s today and yesterday. and 2:00 we are stuck with the clouds and 58 and 4:00 we see peeks of sunshine and windy though. look how the temperatures drop through the night as we start to clear out. the overnight low a big change for the past couple of days in the 60s. and some cooler spots dipping down to the upper 20s and 36 in the city and blustery and much colder and we'll show you what comes next in the accuweather forecast next.

>> all right karen thank you. as always get the latest updates to the soggy forecast. you can check stormtracker 6 live double scan any time on your phone or tablet. the 6 abc app is a download for your mobile device. >> breaking news we are following out of kentucky where at least one person died and many others wounded. in a school shooting. police believe they have the shooter in custody after the person opened fire at marshals county high school. about 100 students ran out of the building seeking safety when the gun fire erupts. stay with "action news" for more information as we get it. police in philadelphia are looking for the person that shot and killed a teenager in olney. the 19-year-old victim was gunned down right outside of a septa station. jeanette reyes is live now at the scene at broad and olney with the latest. >> reporter: well, alicia this 19-year-old man was shot four times including in the chest and back. he managed to get a ride to the

hospital just a couple of blocks away from here. this afternoon police are searching for the gunman. >> another day -- >> at 12:30 district police were called to west olney avenue near broad street for a report of shots firing. >> they found multiple shell cases on the sidewalk and roadway, but did not find a many victim. >> police later learned that the 19-year-old victim ran to a nearby car and was driven to the hospital just a couple of blocks away. while police were investigating the scene they got notified from einstein hospital that a vk tim showed up by private auto. >> northwest detectives determined that the victim was shot four times from across the street standing in front of the septa stake. he was shot once in the back, right and left chest and right

arm. investigators found multiple large shell casings on the sidewalk and street. >> they are shooting every day. i don't know what to say about it. you get numb to it. >> it's a lot of shooting and everything else, it goes on here at this corner every day. >> the victim was listed in critical condition and underwent emergency surgery and was pronounced dead several hours later. hopefully the cameras recorded something to help us with this extremely critical shooting investigation. >> and coming back out live this is one of at least four cameras we were able to find that may have captured the shooting and police are sifting through the information hoping it provides them with clues. and at this point. no motive is known. jeanette reyes, channel 6.

>> in beverly knowledge, one person was rushed to the hospital after an early morning shooting on the 1200 block of warren street. police taped off the house unclear where the shooting occurred. and witnesses told police they saw a gold color sedan fleeing from the scene. and the investigation continues. the federal corruption trial continues today for allentown's mayor ed po low sky, he is accused of trading contracts for campaign cash. the jury heard a secretly recorded conversation recording the democrat and on the recording he is explaining that a law firm only gave him a small contribution. >> and two local families were forced out of their homes during an early morning house fire. the flames spread through two west philadelphia row homes just before 3:00 a.m. two cats and a dog were rescued from the scene and no one was

hurt and the cause of the fire is under investigation. well, national parks like independence mall are once again open now that the government shut down is over. in the nation's capital. hundreds of thousands of federal workers are back on the job today but the funding fix approved by congress is only temporary and the hard work has just begun. gloria riviera has the latest from washington. >> reporter: after days of finger pointing and the blame game the government shut down is over, and democrats and republicans say they are ready to negotiate the sticking point for democrats, immigration. >> the shut down may be over but the debate for federal spending gos on. >> opening the government with one step. >> and president trump signing a short-term fix funding the government for three weeks. calling it a big win for republicans and reorganizing childrens health care for six years but nothing on

immigration. immigration activists and liberals not satisfied. and dreamers, young undocumented immigrants justified the shut down. democrats accepted nothing more than the republicans word to resolve daca. >> it will have a level playing field and an amendment process that is fair to all sides. >> the president says he too want a daca deal but spending for the wall. nobody knows for sure if the republicans and democrats can reach a deal on daca by february 8th. >> there is real commitment on both sides of the aisle on the senate to work so hard to achieve a result. >> the president has given congress until march 5th to resolve immigration issues and fate of daca. and if the question to democrats will be are they willing to play

five people are missing after an explosion at an oklahoma drilling rig. authorities say those workers are pronounced dead. and they are trying to recover their bodies in quenton, southeast of tulsa. they were unale to get near the rig because it was too dangerous. more than a dozen others escaped the blast with minor injuries.

places to finish their education. for odessa high school and kent bridge middle school. the 148 million dollars project is located on the fairview complex. by the 2021 school year. the first day of spring may be 56 days away, but in just a few weeks, spring will be in full bloom inside of the pennsylvania convention center. the who are the horticulture society gave us a sneak peek of the flower show. it gives the sights and sounds and exceptions of the rain forest there is 10 acres of displays including a water fall.

karen rogers is back with another check of the accuweather forecast. the rain is moving out and changes coming in. >> i think you'll like some of the changes. >> i'll show you the ones you like. take a look at satellite looking at sky 6 hd this is one of the changes that i think you will like. look over the commodore barry bridge we have gray skies. and pounding rain for forever today. we see the bright blue and clouds out there. and yes you can tell we are drying things out for you at least here as you look at the commodore barry bridge. looking at this view of stormtracker 6 live double scan we have rain in parts of the area and left the city. and you see the cluster of

lightning over there. a marine warning for anyone out there. strong gusty winds associated with thunderstorms off the coast. and closer to the city right now. it's dry through philadelphia and along 95 in new jersey, pretty wet and route 70 getting a good soaking and this line moved east of the city in medford and berlin and white horse pike in glass bro at route 22 if you travel there, this is the end of the rain we are tracking. that is good news, stretching through elmer and smyrna, delaware. that is pushing through the coastline. and beyond that all we'll see is a stray shower. this is really the end of the rain we are tracking and we have a good half inch to inch. 56 degrees currently in the city. 62 in dover and 57 in millville. and 54 in reading and certainly
