you, 6:00 a.m. saturday october 21. here's a look at the stories we're following on "action news." breaking news a man and his dog are rescued from their burning home overnight. an shot while riding the school bus. a teen is recover from nearly a dozen shot bb gun injuries. police want to know if the suspect is wanted for two other shootings. standing room only for the sixers. fans say this is the end of the year with no wins season. outside we go, to meteorologist chris sowers. it's going to be a great weekend. >> reporter: the winning streak continues. we are expect sunshine today and tomorrow. the temperatures are a little cool right now, but we'll shoot up into the 70s.

lake harmony, 39 degrees. 52 in slatington. 43 in pottstown. 50 in center city. glassboro, 43. cinnaminson, 46. hammonton, 42. dover, 49. you can see the outlying suburbs are cooler than the urban areas. ewing 44. brigantine, 57. satellite and radar cloud cover hanging tough to the west, but the eastern seaboard is completely clear and it's been that way for four days now, high pressure will hold on for two more days and we'll see changes which you will see reflected in the accuweather seven-day forecast in ten minutes or so. forecast for today, mostly sunny and warm, 77 degrees is the forecasted high. the normal by the way is 65. so, as we look ahead here, the beautiful fall stretch continues right through, you can even say monday afternoon, monday night into tuesday, that's when some of the rain arrives with the southern storm system that will be heading up the spine of the appalachians. i'll be back along in just a few

minutes, i'll have the the timing of the storm how much rain to expect, we'll look at the cooler temperatures heading this way in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. 6:02 a.m., there's breaking news coming in from delaware, firefighters rescued an elderly man and his dog from their burning home. both were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. firefighters were called to the 4400 block of very ron in -- vea drive in mill creek. crews found flames shooting from the first floor of the home. the man and his dog were rescued from the second floor bedroom. dog had to be taken to the vet, the man is in critical condition. a motorcycle crash in south philadelphia, last night in the southbound lanes of the exit ramp for the walt whitman bridge just after 11:00 p.m.

police say the 26-year-old victim was riding at a high rate of speed when he lost control and hit a guardrail. police shut down the highway as they investigated it. the scene was cleared at 3:00 a.m. this morning the investigation continues after three teenagers were shot by bb guns this week. one teenager was shot nine times on the school bus. police arrested the suspect, police want to know if he is responsible for the other two attacks. jeff chirico has the details. >> i'm devastated, i'm trying to hold it together. >> reporter: this mom who asks we not identify her, fears for her 16-year-old son's safety after he became target practice for a classmate with a bb gun. her son was riding the bus to school when another student sat near him. >> he pulled out a bb gun and started shooting.

my son had to take the book bag and shield himself. >> reporter: he was struck nine times on the left arm and leg. >> he is traumatized, all his friends were carrying bb guns in school bags. >> reporter: on tuesday evening a 14-year-old boy was shot three times in elkins park. the next day a 19-year-old was struck in the eye in wyncote. both victims reported the shooters will driving a dark sedan and wearing masks. >> we have a description of the vehicle and conducting heavy surveillance in the areas where the juveniles were juried. >> reporter: chief fry said the investigates have identified the 16-year-old who fired the gun on the bus and working to see if he is connectedded to -- connectedo the other two. meantime these parents are asking if the school is

interested in the incident. >> they were notified about the incident, it seems to me you would stop a predator or bully from going to school and shooting somebody else. >> reporter: high school principal sent an e-mail to district parents late friday afternoon. our calls to school officials went unreturned. the student who was injured on thursday did not go to school on friday, his parents are not sure whether he will return or take the bus again. as for the 16-year-old suspect he is facing aggravated assault charges. jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> another school community is mired in in protests after racist incidents on social media. students at coatsville area high school walked out of classes to demonstrate. they say administrators are not doing enough to stop a pattern of racial insensitivity. this comes after someone carved pumpkins and with clan and nazi

symbols and dark-skinned doll was hung in a woman locker room. police busted an illegal lottery ring saying it helped a family live a lavish lifestyle. the ring leader is that man there, gary creigh. the family operated the illegal lottery for 20 years and raked in millions of dollars. >> over 30 month period between 2011 and 2014, he deposited over 3 million into his personal account. >> police say the operations were highly organized and located in unmarked buildings in mostly low income neighborhoods. if convicted the suspects could face up to 635 years behind -- 65 years behind bars. delaware students are

getting freebie on the road to higher education, seniors can fly to select colleges in october and november at no charge. the fees are being waived it's all part of a program state program college application month. to quaff you must submit the application and it must be turned in by november 17. okay, the time now, 6:07 a.m., the sixers tipped off their season opener at the wells fargo center right there last night. they are looking for their first win, they seem to be leading the league in buzz as rookie sensations and multimillion dollar stars hit the hard court for the first time. fans got to see joel embiid and ben simmons and markell fultz in action last night.

have you seen this here, a home in ocean county being accused of taking halloween decorations a bit too far. front yard depicts a bloody scene that's too real. >> we love halloween. >> reporter: kristen decorated her front yard in waretown with a scene that zombies is taking over the community. one zombie is pinned by the car against a tree the other is on the ground. it's realistic enough that it's too graphic to have the police come to her home. >> the police came knocking at 10:00 a.m., something happened to my husband. they were laughing, we got a call about the zombie. >> reporter: christian stuffed the zombies with pillows and

>> reporter: welcome back everyone 6:25 a.m., mostly sunny skies across the board, jersey shore, the poconos, delaware, everybody seeing sunshine. 72 at the shore, 77 in philadelphia. 72 in the poconos. high pressure is slowly starting to shift out to sea, however, this will bring a change to the overall weather pattern. the high is right here, this is all sinking air, orange, hard to get cloud cover when the air sinks. as the high pulls east, the winds will shift out of the southwest. that's when the clouds are pulling out here, all the cloud cover marchs into monday and tuesday with an area of low pressure. what will happen as the area of low pressure comes up the coast,

>> the search is on for whoever fired shots at a teenager, the victim is fighting for his life in the hospital. a controversy over a fatal ambush in niger, now a congressional investigation. yes, it's october and not may. mother nature is giving us another gorgeous weekend with above-average temperatures. outside we go to meteorologist chris sowers tracking the weekend. it's a tad chilly outside. >> reporter: the temperature is at the point if it gets colder i'm going to run for a jacket. temperatures are at 50 degrees in philadelphia. in the outlying suburbs, 39 in the poconos and 42 in allentown him that's chilly stuff. 44 in millville. trenton, 46. 55 in cape may. you're the warm spot. dover, 49 and atlantic city, 49 degrees. satellite and radar we'll wake up to a ton of sunshine once again this morning. the winning streak continues

we'll get sunshine all week long. today no different, sunny conditions from start to finish. future tracker pretty much confirming that. we'll see a slight wind shift out of the of the east/east. 71 degrees by 11:00 a.m. lots of sunshine, 1:00 p.m., 75. 4:00 p.m., 76. 7:00 p.m., we're back down to 69. hour by hour we're anticipating a high somewhere around 77 degrees in philadelphia. same number for places like allentown and pottstown even millville, probably about 77 or 78. looking ahead there's really only one day that we're watching in the accuweather seven-day forecast. that's tuesday. could see an area of low pressure develop it could run you mean the spine of the appalachians. it could bring rain on tuesday be and -- and bring a significant pattern change in the area and we talk about cooler temperatures. i'll be back in just a few minutes and have all the details of the next chance of rain

beyond tuesday, we're looking closely at halloween. i'll talk about in just a if minutes. >> 6:33 a.m., philadelphia police are looking for whoever shot a teenager in the neck and left him to die. police were called to the 7700 block of cedar brook avenue in the city's west oak lane section before 10:30 p.m. they got to the scene and found the teenager with a gunshot injury to his neck. he was rushed to einstein in critical condition. a driver crashed into several cars in northeast philadelphia before flipping her own car. this morning she is anywaysing dui charges. police say the driver lost control and hit two parked cars before she errantsly overturned. no injuries were reported. happening today, attorney general jeff sessions scheduled to speak in philadelphia. sessions will address the 2017

fall meeting. he is expected to talk about safe neighborhoods and other initiatives to reduce violent crimes. the city of philadelphia has been battle winning sessions since he singled out nine sanctuary cities troogd philadelphia for not complying with the justice department immigration policy. the bam bush -- ambush of four americans is getting an investigation after president trump widely criticize phone call to widow of one of the soldiers, many calling the phone call disrespectful. >> reporter: more questions about the deadly ambush in the african country of niger, four soldiers died more than two weeks ago. the green beret were attacked with small arms it was a
