seth williams, as resigned affective immediately after a plea deal in his corruption trial. he plead guilty for one count of accepting a bribe in return for 28 counts being dismissed. vernon odom has the full story. >> reporter: good afternoon. seth williams entered a guilty plea and resigned as his post philadelphia da possibly being sent to prison for five years. he plead guilty to accepting a bribe from muhammad ali. and essential williams admitted under only to all the other alleged misdeeds that were in the government's charges against him. it was a sweeping indictment including accepting free trips

to the dominican republic from muhammad ali and accepting bribes in run for more than a dozen airline tickets and he got that from bar owner michael weis for helping him with regulatory issues especially on the west coast and defrauding his own political action committee for his own use, including mass ables and expensive dinners at union league. and defrauding his mother's nursing home in darby by pocketing more money designated, some $20,000, that was designated for her care at the nursing home. and judge diamond will sentence him on october 24th, and seth williams could be looking up to five years in prison. but that would be up to judge diamond. after entering the guilty pleas, he asked if he has anything to

say, and he said quote, i'm just sorry for all of this. i'm vernon odom, channel 6 "action news." >> all right thank you. in just a few hours, a revised version of president trump's travel ban will be enforced. the new guidelines are scheduled to take effect at 8:00 p.m. for people of mostly muslim countries. they must prove a relationship with a spouse, child or sibling already in the united states. all other extended relatives including grandparents and fiances do not count. the supreme court is allowing it to take effect after the just sises agreed to review the case in fall. and a shooting of a u.s. military veteran in the olney section of philadelphia. he was killed outside of a bar. katherine scott is live at the scene with the very latest. >> reporter: at this point, police are say that this began

as an altercation inside of the bar and spilled outside and resultses in a shooting and we spoke to family members and friends of the homicide victim and that he got involved because he wanted to stop a robbery from happening. >> this surveillance footage shows the robbery before and after in olney that took the life of howard white house a marine corps veteran. >> an american hero. >> howard white wearing a blue polo shirt is seen with his cousin and suspected gunman wearing a white t-shirt outside of green as tavern and they interact and walk out of the frame and then back in. two people outside of the the bar are seen darting in different directions and police arrived at the scene. white believed that the suspect was casing the bar and stepped in to try to stop the robbery. >> he is military trained to often things and tried to keep the peace and told the gentlemen

you don't want to do this. come on. >> in the process of getting the suspect away from the bar white was shot twice and killed his cousin armed with two guns and a permit to carry chased the s&ps until the police arrived and told him to drop his weapons and he complied and the police followed the suspects who broke into this home in an attempt to escape. vazquez chased him down to the kitchen and it turned physical and the suspect him in the face with his gun several times. >> i was able to grab his wrist and pulled his hair and scuffled with him. he is a lot younger and he overpowered me. >> the kitchen bears the signs of the struggle and his son register nurse javier vazquez your-they overwhelmed him and grabbed the gun. >> slammed him to the floor and

murphy is over in the weather stenter with a first check of your forecast. >> things are heating up and we'll see that in a moment. satellite shows you cloud could have filtering through and generally speaking a decent amount of sunshine, getting through the clouds and maintain the sun and clouds mix, the rest of the way. 81 degrees in philadelphia this noon. 81 in wilmington and 80 in allentown and already in the mid-day hour, we are getting closer to where our high temperatures wound up yesterday. 81 in millville and cooler in cape may 73. dew points are not that bad and as we go through the next several hours through the afternoon and evening we expect the dew point numbers to come on up. 87 by 4:00 and that drops down from a high of 88 and i expect to be there at 3:00 this afternoon and 81 degrees by 8:00 p.m. and 10:00, 76 degrees we are looking at the humidity building into the evening hours. as we look at the afternoon, if you plan to get out there and get active.

i would once again like yesterday, prescribe sunscreen and cool drinks. it will still be at 84 degrees at 7:00. and hot and humid weather is on the way coming up in the seven day. new information about last night's deadly crash in chester county. police are investigating if road rage was a factor. one person was killed in the wreck on west goshen township. authorities are looking for a red pickup truck that reportedly fled the scene. a 14-year-old girl was taken to the hospital after she was shot in wilmington. they believe she was actually shot while sitting in a car a few blocks away. investigators recovered the vehicle a short time later at a third location on enterprise street and the vehicle was riddled with bullet holes and had been involved in a crash.

a passenger was brought in for questioning. a car plowed straight into the wilmington beauty salon and police are now praising the business owner for helping everyone get out safely. three employees and two customers were inside of the natural beautiful salon in ashley plaza on tuesday when the vehicle came through the front of the store, nicky washington warned everyone to exit toward the back of the building and then back inside to get the driver out. thanks to her quick actions not a single person was hurt. the person that accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brakes received a citation for inattentive driving. a top adviser to pope francis is now facing charges for sexual abuse and a woman accused of killing her boyfriend now she tells police it was an accident. >> and an explosion blue the walls off a college dorm what investigators believe caused the

dozens of reported tornadoes cut a path of destruction in the

nation's heartland this struck in iowa. and another tornado damaged 20 homes in western wisconsin after being on the ground for 10 miles. the chief financial adviser for pope francis cardinal george pell is charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse. the highest ranking official in the church to be charged with sexual abuse. they say it occurred years ago and pell is denying the charges. a woman is charged with manslaughter in a deadly youtube stunt that killed her boyfriend. it happened outside of this home in norman county, minnesota. 19-year-old mona lisa perez claimed her boyfriend wanted to make a youtube video of a bullet hitting a book in front of his chest and it went through the

david here now with a check of the accuweather forecast. a tad warmer out there today. a tad more humid. >> very good. lot of tads here. stormtracker 6 live double scan we are not showing precipitation. sky 6 hd showing you gorgeous conditions down in cape may along the water. people playing frisbee and a moderate risk of rip currents. but for now the beach is looking good. 81 in philadelphia and your due point is up to 60 and that is the threshold for slightly humid air and that number climbs a bit and later this evening it feels more humid. ocean temperatures 64 and we saw the folks on the beach and in the water along with the surf being rough. 81 in philadelphia and 80 in

allentown and 80 in trenton and 81 in wilmington and with the noon temperatures low 80s plenty of room for broth and we expect the region to wind up in the upper 80s before we are done. a lack of significant cloud cover and a bit of a film across the region now and thin enough with the clouds to allow sunshine through, late in the day we may see clouds popping in. up in the lehigh valley mostly sunny and a bit on the humid side over the next several hours and a high of 88 degrees, it will probably take into the late afternoon and early evening to start to feel the humidity. mostly sunny at the shore. and 84 is the high at the beach. low risk of concerns at the beach. switch near the lifeguards. and listen to their instructions. >> in philadelphia sun mixes with clouds and high of 88 degrees and winds breezy this afternoon. for the evening commute it's a
