wednesday night and monica is attending the presidential did he bait in las vegas and shack is joining us tonight and the big story on "action news" is the plane crash investigation. >> the plane took off from the flying w airport in medford crashing 15 miles away on east lyndon avenue in lyndonwald. sara bloomquist is live on the scene with the latest. >> reporter: rick and sharrie, the ntsb is on the scene investigating and the two men that were in the small plane are at cooper university hospital and both expected to survive. the wreckage needs to be removed from the backyard of 506 lyndon avenue. the woman that owns this home where the plane landed came home from work a little bit ago and had no idea this happened. >> this is the first i learned. the first. >> aretha williams arrived home

to find a small plane crashed into her yard in lyndonwald, new jersey. >> i'm still shocked. what day do you come home and there is a plane in your yard. i'm dumbfounded actually. >> the 911 call came in reporting the plane was down and emergency responders arrived on the scene and found the two seater his broken in half and came to a rest upside down in williams backyard. two adult men were trapped hanging upside down and were conscious and unable to communicate and had to be cut from the wreckage. >> they will survive and none of the injuries were life-threatening. some neighbors heard the plane flying low and later learned of the crash. >> maybe a garbage truck for a minute? and then my mom was like it's a plane. >> and people were amazing that no homes were hit and nobody on

the ground was injured. >> it doesn't strike any houses, it looks like it came between you know, about four homes on a diagonal through trees and ended up on the ground. >> reporter: now the plane's ownership is based in maryland but the two occupants according to police chief are believed to be from new jersey. the police chief says that they should be out of the hospital within a couple of days. my colleague john rawlins moments ago spoke to a neighbor doing work on the top of the house when he saw the low flying plane approaching and describes it as being in distress before this t crashed. john will have that part of the story at 6:00. i'm sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." rick and sharrie -- >> now to politics. we are less than four hour as way from the third and final presidential debate. the stage is set in las vegas

for one more face-off with donald trump and hillary clinton. that is where monica malpass is live tonight with a preview. >> reporter: hi rick, hi sharrie, las vegas is known as it's gamblers paradise and fortunes are routinely won and lost here. but no bigger gamble than the one between the presidential candidates. will donald trump trail first degree most of the polls get a royal flush or snake eyes for the republican. members of the delegation are in nevada. brendan boyle of the 13th district is here to campaign for other seats that are in balance. >> well, the presidential election gets a lot of focus and it's great to be out here with the debate. control of congress is also in play, every single house seat is on the ballot this november. and as congress has shown it's a coequal branch.

>> students here at unlv were given the day off to ease the vehicle and foot traffic issues. but security is ramped up. this morning we when through three levels of security. homeland security used bomb sniffing dogs and metal detecters and more metal detectors for our equipment and ourselves and secret service checked us coming into the building even though we were precleared. >> las vegas is known for hospitality and major events that occur on a regular basis but this is the super bowl of politics and this is huge. >> and normally a third presidential debate would be less important in many voters eyes, but given the scandals, tonight is going to be more crucial than ever.

now we'll return to fall over the weekend. meteorologist, adam joseph, is live for us outside with a look at the forecast. >> not only will it feel like fall it will feel like winter as we get into the upcoming weekend. three seasons in the matter of three days. as we look at the records today in philadelphia specifically, again we really crushed it here, the old record 80 degrees and so far today we hit 86 that is 20 degrees above normal. 81 in allentown and 83 in trenton and 85 in wilmington and not far from dover and millville and the atlantic city airport and aright along the shore temperatures there in the upper 70s to right around 80 degrees. a front to the north and you see earlier there were clouds and showers and they fell apart. and sunshine is in control and thicker clouds will push in from the west and that brings around the change eventually towards the end of the week. temperatures will remain above normal through the day on friday, and then the weekend

a police officer in wisconsin had a close call on the side of the highway. the officer just stopped in the

left lane to help a stranded driver with a flat tire, the cruiser was rear ended by another car sending it flying toward her -- or is that him? the officer was not hurt but her squad car was severely damaged. the crash is under investigation. --' female officer. >> san francisco police are trying to track down the person or people that opened fire as classes were letting out for the day yesterday. one is in critical condition and they believe that the shooter was not a student and they believe that one student in particular was the target but the motive is unclear. from our new jersey newsroom tonight, governor chris christie will appear before a judge next month to answer for a misconduct complaints related to the bridge gait scandal. a citizen filed a complaint knowing that he did not take

every action to reopen the lanes of the george washington bridge. last week a judge allowed that complaint to move forward in court. two christie aides are currently on trial in court. christie is due in court on hackensack on november 23rd. and plans to appeal the ruling. in light of new developments in the bridge gate standal and days after governor christie signed new jersey's gas tax hike his approval rating hit an all-time low. governor christie's approval rating stands at 21%. only two new jersey governors had lower ratings, brendan burn and jim florio in 1990. back here a special tribute today for a recently departed member of our family. carter, better known as captain

there are proven benefits lowering the risk for diabetes and heart disease and lowering the economications for child birth but a new study from the university of washington medical senter and officials show that infants born less than two years after a mother's bariatric surgery had lower birth rates. >> the way to reduce the risk is waiting two to three years after the operation and the babies development could be slowed due to the deficit. neither of these should deter women from considering weight loss surgery but it's something to keep in mind. in other news, there is more proof that eating whole grain is good for you a small study shows it could significantly lower your blood pressure, the

time now for the accuweather forecast at the "action news" big board. meteorologist, adam joseph is standing by with a closer look at the record breaking temperatures. >> we smashed them across the board today. nine records so far today mainly in inland locations everywhere you see the asterisk which is pretty much every city with the exception of the immediate shore line and the poconos did see record highs. 84 reading and 85 trenton and 86 so far in philadelphia. and 87 in wilmington and 86 in lancaster and 85 in the city of dover. and we are one of the warmer spots in the mid-atlantic and you head to the south you can see the upper 80s and dallas hit upper 80s and summer is taking

on a strong role from the deep south to the ohio valley and mid-atlantic but colder weather is lurking to the north and west and that will become our issue or problem or it will be a good thing if you actually want that cold irweather to come in as we approach the upcoming weekend. there is a boundary draped now in the middle part of the country between st. louis and cincinnati. that is the dividing line of the winter like air to summer like air. showers and thunderstorms erupting in st. louis and cincinnati. clouds are rushing in from the west and temperatures stay mild and it stays dry, 54 allentown and millville and down to the shore and southern parts of delaware. future tracker 6 showing tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. for the morning commute it's dry and a lot of clouds around and showers up to the poconos as we go to your thursday clouds break out south of philadelphia and a lot of clouds lingering in the

williams is joining us tonight and here is what is happening on "action news" this evening. detectives hone in on a suspect. it's time for last minute preps for donald trump and hillary clinton for the third and final debate just hours away. and thousands of records are changed in indiana and investigators think they know who did it. and police are on the hunt for a suspect in a shooting that shocked many in the city. it happened in rittenhouse square. dann cuellar is live now with what we are learning today. >> reporter: police now know the identity of the assailants they are working to identify the other two. it has everyone here unnerved. >> i hope they are not ignoring the problem we are having at the

square. >> they say that every since they shut down love park, problems migrated here. >> it has to come to this point of an actual shooting for people to wake up and actually do something. >> police say that three men two of them with handguns were attempting to rob a group of three to five people and then a 35-year-old man riding through on his bike ran up and tried to stop him. the individual actually intervened and made a statement, saying you are not going to rob these people what are you doing. he remains in critical and stable at hahnemann, other people in the park say there was utter chaos around. sitting and we heard bang bang bang bang bang. >> and thought firecrackers. >> people were screaming gunshots and got up from our table outside and jumped behind a wall.

see him go through the screen and on to a railing. a man is in critical condition after being struck by a car at the 300 block of clementon road in front of a restaurant. police arrived and rushed the victim to the hospital. the person is said to be in critical condition. >> presidential politics tonight. las vegas is known for its big boxing title fights of course. tonight the spotlight is on the final debate in one of the hottest presidential battles ever. monica malpass is live from the debate site with more on what to expect in just about three hours from now. >> reporter: that is right. 40 million tourists come to las vegas every year for fun in the sun and world class performances and a very different kind of performance will be happening with global implications, all eyes are on the debate and of course it's the first one staged

in nevada. hillary clinton arrived at the airport last month and donald trump flew in from engagements in colorado. both spent all day today holed up doing last minute debate prep. most polls show donald trump trailing and an audience of 90 million people will watch to see if he reversed that downward spiral or if hillary clinton gets unnerved. and they are watching because relations with other countries are on the line. >> what is capturing people's attention is the sort of infighting between the two candidates, i think this is one of the roughest elections we have had by virtue of the scandals on either side that is interesting to them. we think of the united states often times you think of democracy and smooth running, this is sort of shining a light on what happens on the scene.

and a patriot majority usa for changes the group, for changes thousands of voter registration records, voters checking their status found their names and birth dates and other information had been altered. the secretary of state says it was not hacked but changed on paper forms in motorcycle offices, the group was under scrutiny for fraudulent voter registration applications. a former schuylkill county police officer made a plea agreement for charges he faked an attack. she will serve a year's probation and pay her medical costs and $6,000 in prosecution costs. last september she claimed she was thrown down an embankment but 17witied disputed the story and rook was charged. from the new jersey newsroom. nearly 100 new jersey businesses were making new connections,

an american service member and a u.s. civilian were killed today in an attack at kabul afghanistan. officials say they were killed near a coalition base by an attacker who was later killed. they were conducting duties as part of a nato mission. two others were hurt in the attack but said to be in stable condition. a senior iraqi commander says it could take two months to completely clear isis from mosul, iraq's second largest city. they are putting up fierce resistance. they have sent 12 car bombs to front lines, all this been blown up before reaching their targets. jaime apody is here and the eagles back to work as they take on a team coming back from their by. and they are undefeated. >> other good news for me? >> no, sorrsorry.

to have something special. you come to the zoo and see them together, that is unusual. in the wild they are solitary. >> yes, most are, they were raised in a zoo and the brothers are still together, they are technically twins, they were born a couple of minutes apart on either side of midnight. >> they look alike. >> every tiger has unique stripes and can you tell the difference, especially around their face. >> any plans for a breeding program at all? in the wild they are highly endangered. >> only about 400 left in the wild, years ago there was only 20 left, they have rebounded. at this moment not quite yet but who knows maybe in the future. >> the tiger is a favorite costume for a lot of kids for halloween and we have boo at the zoo coming up in two weekends.
