eric duncan's nurses was infect. manhunt for accused cop killer eric frein, continues but officials say mother nature is now providing help, and flushing him out. and hope from grief how tragic death of the little girl is providing inspiration to help a local community. but first the growing concern, over ebola the in the u.s. health care work shore treated thomas eric duncan last week, has been diagnosed with ebola. experts are trying to figure out precisely how this happened. abc's marci gonzales has the latest. >> tonight health officialness dallas trying to figure out how a nurse contracted ebola. well, she did treat thomas eric duncan died of the virus here wednesday, hospital management claims that she followed cdc guidelines and wore protective gear. >> certainly very concerning, and, it tells thaws there is a need to enhance training and protocols to make sure that protocols are followed. protocols work. >> reporter: the nurse in her 20's started having symptoms

friday night and drove herself to dallas health presbyterian hospital. within 90 minutes she was in isolation, later testing positive for the virus. officials now working fast to figure out hot nurses have been in close contact with, since she started feeling sick. one person, already in isolation, as a precaution. as crews decontaminate her home and apartment complex and wordings out to neighbors in person and by phone. >> please be advised that a health care work shore lives in your area has tested positive for ebola virus. >> reporter: officials are urging calm saying the community is not at risk. still, the cdc says that they are bracing for the possibility that other health care workers at this hospital, may also be affected. >> unfortunately, it is possible in the coming days that we will see additional cases of ebola. this is because the health care workers who cared for this individual may have had a breach of the same nature.

>> reporter: john rawlins for channel six "action news". a familiar face made an early morning visit to the philadelphia zoo for a great cause, "action news" investigative reporter wendy saltsman served as mc for the the annual walk for wishes. this event raises money for make a wish fun days which grant wishes of children battling life threatening medical conditions this year this wonderful organization helped send a local child to disney world. local pets got in on the action this morning helping a local shelter in blackwood, new jersey. the plenty of people and pets stepped out for camden county college for the pledge of paw dog walk to help animals find loving homes. the hundreds hoped to make a big dent in this years $60,000 fun raising goal for the camden county animal shelter. a celebration of the italian culture took over south philadelphia today during the annual columbus day parade. the "action news" reporter amy buckman has the highlights. >> ♪ >> reporter: music of string

band provided the sound track for today's columbus day parade which marched down broad street from moore to oregon avenue. the parade was televised here on six abc with our own alycia vitarelli anchoring the broadcast. >> ♪ >> reporter: actor chas palmet teri it was grand marshall with the mummers marchers included representatives of numerous italian american social and cultural organizations and plus south philadelphia's school groups report. >> south philly is a melting pot. we all get along together. a great place. >> reporter: the parade was just a beginning of the festivities here in south philadelphia as for units passing through tell cast area everyone moved over to moriarty connie plaza for festival. while the festival draws out south philadelphia neighbors old and new italian food from pasta, to pizza, to pork to pastries, was clearly the star of the show.

68 degrees. we are tracking a warm front lifting to the north. spotty shower is likely at any point during the day. i think most spots will stay dry. just a fair amount of cloud cover overhead. on tuesday we have a warmer day with a high temperature up to 77 degrees. a stray shower is once again likely. monday and tuesday i think these showers are more miss then hit but we are tracking low pressure coming from the southern plains with the high temperature then 77 degrees. it does look like that rain will look to be steady as we get into the late in the afternoon and into the evening hours on wednesday, and the timing is going to be key on thursday. it looks like that rain will linger at least for first half of the day with the high temperature of 70 degrees. on friday, sunny and nice in the wake of the 72, lower 70's as we get into next weekend and into next week, walter. so we are watching out for warmth and showers this week. >> okay, thank you melissa. people of pennsauken camden county embrace season by starting a new tradition today. families flock to the recreational center on
