along with action radar, we have light precipitation south and west of philadelphia. stormtracker 6 live double scan showing you that we have moisture just to the south and west of the city, extending back to the ohio valley all the into kansas city, missouri. this is an elongated area of precipitation working its way from a west to east direction. ahead of the moisture on the move with the mostly cloudy sky and a northeasterly wind, the temperatures are cool, philadelphia 59 and the poconos 53 degrees and the lehigh valley 57 and dover 61 and sea isle city 62. and lower 60s in beach haven. what we can expect this afternoon, a cool northeasterly wind, with the win we have the temperatures below average, with the northeasterly wind through much of the afternoon we are calling for light rain and drizzle and the steadiest of

his fate today. raghunandan yandamuri is facing the death sentence. >> reporter: that penalty phase of the trial is underway right now rick. raghunandan yandamuri stand by attorney says he sealed his own fate by representing himself and now they are trying to save his life. the trial enters the penalty phase and the jury will hear arguments for and against the death penalty from both sides. raghunandan yandamuri told the judge he wants the death penalty and doesn't want to sit through the penalty phase but his lawyer says there are mitigating circumstances that should spare him the death penalty. >> he went through a lot and given everything he went through, he is not an evil

channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. police in bensalem are working to track down 3 to 5 suspects that held up a bar's employees. it happened at bar louie at closing time. the masked man with a knife and stun gun forced the employees into the freezer, during the holdup one employee was tasers and they took off in one worker's yellow mustang, it was recovered in northeast philadelphia and police are on the scene and want to hear from anyone with information on the crime. police say a man with a gun got away from a big haul from a northeast wawa overnight. police responded it to this store on cotman avenue just after 3:00 a.m., a man robbed a cashier and took off with $1,000. police say he had one sort of black sheet covering his face. nobody was injured . union workers in atlantic

city are offering a contract to the taj mahal. this two days after a big demonstration that blocked traffic and led to dozens of arevelants. trump entertainment is threatening to close the taj next month without concessions from the union and tax breaks from the government. the philadelphia federation for teachers held a turn out for truth rally here in german town. president jerry jordan wants the people to know the truth about the sacrifices the teachers already made. teachers are now asked to contribute to their health benefits, the district says that move will save $50 million this year. there is a major boost for children's rights around the world this year. the nobel peace prize was

temperatures across the delaware and lehigh valleys, it is cooler than normal, we are coming in at 59 degrees, the dew point at 39, the atmosphere is dry and the win winds are out of the east-northeast. the temperatures are only holding in the upper 50s, the pressure is 30.14, falling as the moisture approaches. as you look at the numbers, allentown 57 and trenton 59 and along the coast from beach haven to sea isle city and temperatures are in the lower 60s, we'll check out the day planner, at 3:00 this afternoon some locations could climb up to the lower 60s, 5:00 this evening, it's cloudy and 62 and light rain developing, 7:00 and 9:00 tonight, more moisture on the way for a west-east direction, here is satellite 6 along with action radar. we are tracking this batch of moisture and we'll widen out the

blocks, in cheltenham avenue at 1:15 a.m., the driver of the mercedes fled on foot after the crash and one person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. a camera captured a duo standing bikes from a parking garage. police tracked them down allegedly stealing two more bikes on market street. police say they are the same men on the video, and both men are homeless. rowan university has upheld the expulsion of two students for uploading two videos online. one man was shown in a sex act with a female student while in an off campus house.

the female said it was convention -- governor tom corbett says will he sign a build to approve newborn screenings. it's nicknamed hanna's law, she was born with a disease, an inherited disorder that left her blind and unable to eat on her own, and there is no cure. but if it was picked up earlier it could have lessened the affects and the new law would require screenings for five other disorders. with the midterm elections just weeks away, president obama is not on the campaign trail but he did attend a fundraiser at the home of a movie star. actress, gwyneth paltrow hosted a dinner, tickets were $1,000 and dinner starts at $15,000.

they on storm watch again in japan, super typhoon, fongfong, continues to barrel through the pacific ocean towards that country. this shot was taken from the international space station. jap continues to recover from a typhoon that swept across the country on monday. wild fires in california destroyed five homes and is threatened hundreds more. it's burning just east of sacramento and the cause of fire is under investigation, and they reported incidents where smaller
