off-duty officer shoots and kills a man. >> good morning, everybody, tamala edwards is off, erin o'hern joins us. karen is off, matt pellman joins us, oh, that's just david murphy. >> reporter: we have satellite and radar showing cloud cover out to the west this morning. but generally speaking we're looking at a nice one today. we have a breeze out of the west but it's not as strong as yesterday. 56 in philadelphia. 57 in allentown. in the 40s in millville. a lot of us in the low to mid 50s around the region this morning. as we head outside, look for low to mid 50s between 6 and 8:00 some suburbs cooler. as we roll through the day it will be milder later on, but cooler than yesterday. 56 degrees by 9:00. him noon, 64.

3:00 p.m., 69 that's the high today. 64 by 6:00 with a few clouds gathering. but bright conditions again, that changes tomorrow, matt there could rain arriving during the day, i have details coming up. i have bright flashing lights on the ramp. we have police activity on the ramp from the southbound side of girard avenue, you can see a tow truck on the scene. it could be an accident but we're not hearing that for certain. we have traffic stopped on the ramp, but looks like they will start moving that traffic in a moment. if you're planning to head southbound on i-95 at girard this could cost you time this morning. we have an accident at the base of the girard point bridge, it's off to the side. they have completely reopened the ramp from the westbound vine to the westbound schuylkill. the restrictions continue at red lion and nights until 6:00 a.m.

eva pilgrim is gathering the latest updates live in the satellite center. eva? >> reporter: matt, more cases of ebola popping up all over the world. u.s. officials are beefing up security at the five largest airports at this county this as the first patient with the ebola dies in the u.s. >> ♪ overnight a memorial service for thomas duncan the first purpose to die from ebola in the u.s. this morning concerns about another possible ebola case in the u.s. a sheriff's deputy who went to duncan's apartment is being kept in isolation while being tested for disease. while we're told that the risk is minimal, with an abundance of caution we are taking action to make sure public safety is protected. >> reporter: while authorities continue to monitor anyone who may have come in contact with duncan across the county u.s. officials are beefing up the

nation's defenses against ebola. passengers traveling to west africa to five of the nation's busiest airports will undergo new screening procedures including having their temperatures taken. >> what we're doing is putting in additional protection. we've been very clear that slorntion -- as long as ebola continues to spread in africa, we can't make the risk zero here. >> reporter: workers at airports are worried about their risk of exposure. airplane cleaners walked off the job saying they are fed up with the unsafe and unsanitary conditions. a nurse in spain is in isolation in australia. she recently traveled to sierra leone to treat patients with

the bar and restaurant on market street. someone was slashed near this joint at 12:30. no word on the victim's condition what led to the stabbing or who did it. the investigation continues into a deadly fire at an assisted living facility in delaware county. chopper 6hd was over the elwin institute in media last night. firefighters arrived five minutes after getting the call. they found the employees and state troopers excavating the building's 39 residents. crews contained the fire to one room and someone became trapped in the unit. the victim was pronounced at the scene. accused cop killer eric frein faces new charges following the discovery of pipe bombs at a suspect camp campsite. frein reportedly wrote that he e was surprised how quickly the trooper dropped to the ground.

officers believe they spotted him in the forest, but the difficult terrain allowed him to slip away. the monroe county community gripped by the manhunt for eric frein is lending it's support for state police. they are participating in a fundraiser for slain corporal bryon dickson. the wives are organizing this fundraiser calling it pfc strong. >> this gives us an outlet for the nervous energy we're able to channel it into something positive. >> so far the state troopers wives have sold 20,000 shirts. >> temperatures have dipped a bit in areas. >> reporter: they have, we have spots in the 40s. as we look at storm tracker 6

>> we are learning this morning that a dog appropriately named lazarus cheated death twice. he was hit by a car and it was taken to be euthanized, but when they returned he was walking around. they are looking for a forever home. that also david walker of boothwyn, p-a. he reeled in this this giant sheep's head. officials and wildlife officials confirmed that it set a new state record. it measures in at 17.1 pounds.
