jersey where it's crosses route 55 and same thing with millville and fortescue. skies will start to brighten upper around midday and the afternoon looks nice. satellite and radar composite, the cold front is pushing through harrisburg. it's behind that line that the temperatures start to drop on them. today will be on the mild side we'll see highs in the 70s clouds and sun, it's tonight and tomorrow when the cold stuff gets in here. 68 degrees, clouds and patchy fog, maybe a few showers, embedded downpours, lunchtime we're up to 70 degrees at that point we start to see the skies brighten up a bit. 3:00 p.m. mostly sunny, temperatures around 72. what's ahead it turns much cooler especially tonight where the lehigh valley drops into the 30s for lows. poconos getting down to 35

tomorrow morning, but the good news is irrelevant only lasts for -- it only lasts for one day. next week is on the mild side. one and done, could see patchy frost 2349 poconos. when i get back inside we'll talk about that and have the mild forecast. >> new this morning, a minivan crashes into a parked tractor-trailer in delaware. the minivan crashed into a tractor-trailer at the is he e service plaza. the minivan rolled over several times eventually hitting that tractor-trailer which was stopped fortnight at the rest area. the couple inside was trapped and had to be rescued from the minivan. both had to be taken to christian hospital and expected to be okay. a teenager is lucky to be alive after she was rescued from the mangled wreckage of her car

following a crash along the schuylkill. her life is changed forever by this accident. annie mccormick has the story. >> reporter: hours after the dramatic crash crews carefully removed the mangle suv that careened toward the schuylkill river trapping the 17-year-old driver inside. >> it was a tight fit. everything smashed around her. she was scared. she was talking, but she was scared. >> reporter: brandy a cardiac icu nurse at hanheman hospital happened to be driving by. >> everyone was looking over the railing. >> reporter: and you jumped into action. >> i want down there, there was another dwr that was running -- doctor that was running, too. >> reporter: moneyic dodd -- monica a nurse, ran to help, too. police believe the teen was

traveling eastbound on martin luther king when she crossed the westbound lane heading toward the river. her suv did a 180 and slammed through the guard rail slipping several times resting on the banks of the schuylkill. the single-vehicle accident shut down both lanes of mlk drive snarling traffic across the city. several philadelphia police officers happened to be nearby and marine crews were able to remove her with a ladder and rope before transporting her to the hospital. amazingly nobody was hurt, including joggers and bikers and other vehicles that normally fill the roadway and sidewalks at that time. the 17-year-old was taken here in stable condition, but police confirmed she was paralyzed from the waste down. reporting in universities city, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> camden county police say someone opened fire on a patrol car. the action cam was at the scene

the 100 block of aerial road in winslow, township. new jersey. a police officer was on routine patrol when a bullet hit the windshield of his patrol car. he called for assistance, dozens combed new brooklyn park, but did not finds a suspect. a philadelphia synagogue is mourning a member of its congregation who was murderedness in -- murdered in s own home. his former house death jonathan williams stabbed him to death during a confrontation. williams is charged with burglary and other offenses. the defense has a case in a double murder trial involving a baby and her grandmother in montgomery. the accused is representing himself david henry has the latest from the trial.

raghu yandamuri's fate is in his own hands now when the defense takes over. it was his own words that landed him here in the first place. >> we have his own worlds in a signed statement and from the video that he agreed to do with the detective's. >> reporter: else accuse -- he is accused of kidnapping the baby and her grandmother. he eventsly confessed and led -- eventually confessed and led the police to the body of the baby in the basement of his apartment complex. he stole jewelry from from the grandmother. he since recanted the

confession, he claimed he was forced to participate at a time in the kidnapping scheme of two strangers. >> we only know the names of matt and josh. >> reporter: how did these two strangers come into his life? >> i don't know, i'm sure he'll explain that on monday. raghu yandamuri is getting advise from two lawyers, but doing all the talking in coulter. the detectives are finding themselves being cross-examined by the accused killer. it has been an emotional gut-wrenching case for all, including the jurors. some who have been seen crying at times. >> the one person who it is not boark is -- it is not botherings the defendant. >> reporter: raghu yandamuri will take the stands on monday.

>> winter often makes an early move into minnesota and yesterday, a light, but steady snow fell on the northern section of the state. most of the fall foliage is still on the trees. temperatures are 20 degrees below normal. i'm thankle that's not what we saw outside our doors yesterday. it's too mild for that. we're near 70 degrees, but it is impressive if you look out west, i want to say there's ten states under freeze warnings. it's snowing in parts of the area and temperatures are in the 20s. it's only the beginning of october. let's go live on sky 6, shall we, take a look at cape may where they are seeing clearing, at least from the rain.

we're seeing cloudy conditions, but we're not seeing the rain i inland. we're expecting the showers to push east and make their way to the shorepoints as the morning wears on, as well. storm tracker 6 living double scan showing moisture out there, again across interiors -- interior sections of south jersey, berlin is picking up showers and medicine formed lakes and -- medford lakes. every now have and then we pick up a heavier downpour as indicated by the yellows. you can see how this is racing toward the northeast at 25 miles per hour. again we expect south jersey to be the bulls eye area this morning where we'll see the heaviest weather which isn't too heavy to begin with. this is the heaviest here we'll seep from this rounds of moisture that is approaching

>> new overnight police look for clues after a teenager is stabbed in a center city park. fiery crash delaware state police look for what caused this deadly accident. plus, we're tracking rain and much cooler air across the delaware and lehigh valleys this morning. meteorologist chris sowers is outside with a look ahead. looks like the rain has stopped at least where you are for now. >> reporter: yeah, just a few spritzes and sprinkles. at least it's on the mild side. we have temperatures five to ten degrees milder than yesterday at this time. otherwise as we flip it over to storm tracker 6 live double scan, it's gray and gloomy out here. you can see lots of moisture across south jersey and central delaware and heavier weather off to the west getting ready to push into let's say that western portion of new castle county.

we are expecting to see showers over the next several hours, maybe a brief downpour, but by afternoon skies will clear nicely. here's the water vapor imagery we have a cold front that's pushing through. this is a cold front that came through the northwest territories of canada. this will be a cold shot of air that's sweeping through. it's clearly defined. we have the dreary weather east of the cold front. if you look west you pick up the grays, that's where the temperatures fall off. we're nice and mild here, look at the numbers to the west. 47 in pittsburgh. charleston, 47. we're at 70 degrees, same number for washington, d.c. and baltimore. we're on the mild side. 68 degrees, cloudy skies and the occasional shower left over. by lunchtime, the skies begin to brighten up, there could be a shower down the shore, clouds and sun. the rest of the afternoon looks nice, 72 degrees.

6:00 a.m., 65. the morning looks miserable, the afternoon is nice. tomorrow will be colder and there could be patchy frost in the poconos tomorrow morning. i'll talk about that in the seven day when i step back inside in just a bit. eva? >> thanks, chris. a teenager is in serious condition after being stabbed in the stomach across the street from philadelphia police headquarters. the action cam was at the scene, franklin square park at 8th and race. two men confronted the 18-year-old at 12:30. one of the suspects stabbed the teen, the two men ran off. the wounded teen is at hanheman hospital. police have not made any arrests. new this morning, a fiery crash killed a person on i-95. it happened on the southbound lanes of i-95 south of the marsh road exit ramp. the driver ran off the road and hit a tree. the impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames. the driver was trapped inside

and killed. health officials in new jersey have now confirmed that a young boy who died last week tested positive for entrovirus 68. the 4-year-old boy is from mercer county who went to yardville elementary in hamilton township. health officials confirmed he had a case of the virus, but not sure if that killed the boy. there are two new cases in new jersey, that brings the total in the state to nine. at children's hospital in philadelphia, three children are hospitalize the with what could be the virus. the hospital has eight lettered the cdc and -- the hospital has alerted the cdc. >> might see 3 to 8 children over the course of 12 months to

>> a series of storms in the northern parts of alabama has damaged buildings and knocked out power to thousands. downed trees snapped power lines and a church in the area was heavily damaged. there were no reports of injuries. that same storm system was in texas and move to alabama, now it's in our area. >> reporter: it's the same cold front. but when we talk about the pieces of puzzle coming together, it's not the same as it was down there. we're expecting clouds and showers that's about it.

by afternoon the system is moving so fast, by afternoon we'll see the return of sunshine. in the meantime that's the view in atlantic city still holding on to a little bit of dry weather. over the next let's say 20 minutes, half-hour, the showers will push into atlantic city then if it is not doing so now. storm tracker 6 live double scan sthoag a lot of green, but -- showing a lot of green out there, but most of it is on the light side. we get west of the city, west chester, downingtown, exton, chadsford we're reporting moderate rain at this moment. this is moving so quickly in the next 15 minutes or so, the rain will lighten up. if you're travel be mindful that it's enough to get the roads wet. we're in atlantic county, buena, 40 to mays landing you're seeing heavier downpours, egg harbor is reporting rain, 49 they are reporting light rain, as well.

next stop will take us to the north into the browns mills area, route 70 reporting moderate rain. that area getting into ocean county. this is moving quickly and it should be out of here in the next hour or two. the movement is southwest to northeast. for the most part this is on the lighter side. every now and then you see heavier downpours peppered in. that's the way it plays out through the the morning. high tide is occurring right now, national weather service issued a coastal flood advisory for the delaware river and bay region. some of the roads that one parallel to the area along the river and pay could see elevated tidal leaves. those roads could -- tidal levels, those roads could take on extra water. slatington, 60. pilots and saint davids, 65. center city, 67. same number for cinnaminson,
