"action news" reporter sarah bloomquist is live at police headquarters tonight, sarah. >> well, jim, police are hoping a 40,000 reward helps to bring in the tip identifying the shooter. they believe bullets were intended for white sedan seen speeding down the block and possibly with two men inside. instead one of the stray bullets hit a young mother, pregnant young mother. killing her, her baby girl also did not survive. neighbors put up a small memorial open the spot where 25-year-old megan doto was shot and killed yesterday morning. >> beautiful bubbly young lady. >> she was fearly 8 months pregnant with her third child. 10:45 a.m. she was sitting outside 1520 adams avenue watching her neighbor's children and theres with a man in black that fired at least ten times at a white, four-door sedan

speeding down the block. a bullet missed the car and hit doto instead. >> she's a totally innocent victim just sitting on a step out there with a young friend and one of bullets from the top of the block comes all the way down and strikes her one time in the face. >> that young friend megan doto said he tried to help her but there was nothing he could do. >> the worst part was i knew that she was dead from the beginning the moment she hit the ground she was dead. >> doctors delivered doto's baby girl by emergency c-section and the infant did not survive the night. >> somebody knows something out there i mean rarely does something happen and there's absolutely fwhoun witnessed it or has some information. so people need to come up and step up on this one. >> reporter: doto leaves behind two other children ages 4 and 6. police acknowledge there is quite a big deal of drug activity in the area.

tonight they're bringing in known drug dealers in the area pressing them for information. again there's a $40,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. live at philadelphia police headquarters i'm sarah bloomquist, "channel 6 action news." jim. >> thank you, sarah. from rural blooming grove, pennsylvania, state police say the reward is now $75,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunman that shot and killed a pennsylvania state trooper friday night. and wounded a second trooper. the dead trooper once worked at the belmont barracks in philadelphia and that's where "action news" reporter chad pradelli is now live. chad, what's the latest here. >> jim, state police say the gunman used high power sniper rifle to shoot the two troopers. this begun sman prove efficient in the weapon and has extensive practice twice it and military or law enforcement background and may have an ongoing problem with state police or government.

as the search for the gunman continues troopers here continue to mourn the loss of corporal brian dixon and as you can see the flag is at half staff. the shooter ambushed corporal brian dixon and trooper alex douglass friday night the two had no time to defend themselves. using a high powered rifle similar to the semi-automatic sniper weapon the ghaun unloaded on the men during a shift change outside the blooming grove barracks in scranton. >> first i want to say so you you're a coward. you committed this spineless act and attacked defenseless troopers, shot them, they had no opportunity to defend themselves. and did you it from a place of hiding and then ran. >> sources tell "action news" detectives want to interview an unidentified man who visited the barracks prior to the shooting. at this point he's not

considered a suspect but police believe the shooter is pro efficient in firearms and may have practiced extensively at a shooting range. >> we believe that the perpetrators may have an ongoing issue with law enforcement or government. and this attack could be directly related to an incident investigated by the pennsylvania state police at blooming grove. >> it's an extremely difficult time for all of us. fellow troopers in philadelphia struggled with the loss of corporal dixon. he served troop k in philadelphia before being transferred to the poconos a few months ago. >> the men that he worked with on the midnight rotation all loved him. he was a mentor. he took a deep interest in their lives as police officers. and he tried to make them better. >> and a viewing will be held on wednesday in dunn moore near scranton the funeral is scheduled for thursday. live in wynnefield heights, chad pradelli, "channel 6 action news," jim. >> thank you, chad, patco

officials are investigating what led up to a fatal accident in sent-er isity philadelphia this morning an oncoming train struck and killed a woman at the 8th and market station just before 9:00. the station was shut down as officials conducted their investigation and the station was reopened at 10:30. there's been a lot of talk following friday night's football gawm at phoenixville area high school. they gave breathalyzer tests to student there without adults. and the officials defend that decision saying this is nothing new. live at the high school tonight is "action news" reporter john rawlins. john. >> reporter: jim, i think the disstripingt here a little surprised by some of the reactions here particularly critical reaction on social media. as it pointed out a number of times it's it's had a policy since db to be able to use breathalyzer and used them for proms and that sort of thing to detect under age drunking and it is all in the student handbook. however parents we talked to she

>> the crime scene is just across the street from kip charter school in north philadelphia and children were in the playground just before 3:00 this afternoon when the gunfire erupted. fortunately, none of the children were hurt. police arrived to find cars shot up and no victims. the man was injured -- a man was injured in the shooting here this morning. police say the shootings may stem from ongoing drug war. >> crews were busy today in germantown beginning process of

clearing rubble left behind by the immotion of apartment building. the 16-story queen lane apartment complex came down in just 8 seconds saturday morning and the 59-year-old structure was demolished to make way for 55 new low rise flats, walkups and townhouses. >> it was the morning after for the new miss america. and that meant a long-standing tradition today. free and the action cam just happening out on the banks of the schuylkill just a beautiful shot. good amount of sunshine. the river ripplely with breeze out of the northwest and kind of makes you want to take the canoes out and do a little canoeing. the weather highlights show you that we have a fall feeling in the air. even though fall doesn't officially arrive until next tuesday. yesterday morning, and this morning, we dropped down to 53 degrees in philadelphia. some of northwest suburbs into the 40s. coldest temperature since the middle of may. in four months. in the meantime, in the dessert southwest, we have a good risk of unfortunately some flash flooding and this is odil which came across last night in cabo as category three hurricane. this spreads rain into arizona by wednesday and thursday and the same area that had that record flooding from norway bert next week looks likes they could

get rain in one day. back at home the big story the cool weather. 71 in philadelphia, 7 was high today. that's six degrees below average. allentown 68. millville 67. wilmington and dover 70. trenton 69. satellite 6 and action radar showing we're beginning to see so. high clouds moving in ahead of a cold front that will be sweeping through tomorrow. there's not a lot of moisture with this. the problem is that it will be falling during parts ever the morning commute. future tracker showing around 4:00 we begin to see showers breaking out in far north and west suburbs and returning to the philadelphia region 7:00. then got news is it's out of hereby lunchtime and sunshine is back and looking at tenth to quarter inch of rain and behind that system we have descending air in the afternoon. and sunshine, 76 degrees. really nice. heading towards the weekend. high pressure maintaining control on wednesday. lots of sunshine. this cold front will move
