up that says stop as kids get on the bus and david has your accuweather forecast. good morning. >> that's are a good point to drivers, be careful out there because you have a lot of pedestrians that haven't been there the last few months and as tam mentioned be careful when that bus gets the lights going on. let's get you to satellite. we've got very little cloud cover overhead right now and it's going to be a sunny start but man, it already feels muggy out here. currently 76 degrees in philadelphia. we've slipped to 68 in allentown but still in the 70's almost everywhere else. and very, very humid pretty much a continuation of that high humidity beef experienced the last couple of days. by 9 o'clock we'll abat 81, by noon 89 and your high today is going to be 94 but what with the high humidity it will probably feel like it's closer to 100 this afternoon during the height that of afternoon heating. by 6 o'clock we're back to 88 but still feeling like it's in the mid 90's and there's the chance of a late day shower or thunderstorm probably a better chance this evening. anything that pops could produce drenching downpours. karen i'll have more on that on future tracker 6 coming up, okay?

>> overturned tractor-trailer we've been talking about chopper six live on the scene now. this is in bensalem bucks county. the ramp from the pennsylvania turnpike westbound to bensalem, this accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer right here, it's hard to see in the dark but we can see all the emergency, worries on the scene. heavy duty tow truck here as well getting ready to hopefully be able to clear this. we're seeing traffic being allowed to get by with chopper 6 live on the scene, you can see this overturned tractor-trailer causing a problem and it's partially blocking the ramp from the westbound pennsylvania turnpike to bensalem. so you've got to watch for this. if you want to avoid this miss you can get off at the delaware valley interchange or use the street road interchange as well but you've got to watch for that. it's an ez pass only exit am i want to switch to our traffic camera. you have a different viewpoint of this and you can see how the tractor-trailer is really flipped completely over on its side right now so watch for this on the turnpike westbound to bensalem and right there that's the heavy duty tow

truck kind of waiting in the wings getting ready to upright this tractor-trailer. let's go here to the maps in berks county. it's a problem with an accident here, amity township 422 near 662. out here all morning, just cleared so things looking better right here in berks county. the action cam was on the scene here and we're looking live at the ben franklin parkway at eakins oval. it has been reopened following the cleanup, all the restrictions have been lifted although we're in the seeing traffic out there. police are telling us it's opened right now so no problems there. in new jersey, 42 northbound here at creek road, expect some northbound traffic to be extra heavy as people coming back from the shore and of course you've got to watch for those school buses back on the roads today, tam. >> thank you karen. it is now the hour when the doors will close for good at the revel hotel and casino. the glistening jewel of atlantic city attracted billions of dollars in investment money but had to take on so much debt it was never able to turn a profit. david henry is lie in atlantic

city. david we know for thousands of people down there this means a hard time as their jobs go away. >> reporter: yeah, hard times have fallen on atlantic city. thousands of people now without jobs. moments ago they flashed the last call lights here and you can see up above me that the lights are still on on the gaming floor but we saw a couple dozen people walking down the hallway as they were ushered out of this casino for the last time. they rolled the dice and lost. odds were stacked against it as it struggled under the weight of a heavy debt load. two years later this gamble has gone bust. >> put so much money into it and now it's closing and it did so little for the city anyway. it just seems to be a big waste. >> reporter: at 5:15 this morning, workers chained off the stairs leading from the boardwalk to the entrance of the revel. the last gamblers were ushered out at 6:00 a.m. no potential buyers have come to the table. so, this glittering 47 story hotel and casino is now an almost empty shell.

a prominent boardwalk landmark symbolic of the fading allure of casino gambling in atlantic city. the revel was supposed to pump new life into the town targeting an up market crowd. the crowds never came. the casino went through two bankruptcies. it has become another domino as one casino after another falls. the atlantic club closed in january. the showboat closed this past sunday and the trump plaza will close in two weeks. the closings are a body blow to the local economy putting 6200 people out of work. the mood was grim at the revel last night as many of the 3200 employees clocked out for the last time. >> very serious. usually have fun, goof off and everything but we took it very serious did our jobs, in and out. >> reporter: looking live at the gaming floor, the lights still on on the slots machines but nobody is in there now. they've all been ushered out of this casino for the last time. so, what is next for atlantic

city? that remains to be seen and it will be the subject of a bipartisan summit meeting of local and state officials next week. live in atlantic city, david henry, channel 6 "action news." tam. >> david, thank you for that. new here at 6:00 a.m. a child in new jersey who fell from a window remains in critical condition this morning. neighbors in washington township warren county say they heard a little boy screaming yesterday, then they heard the crash. police say a screen gave way an five year old boy plummeted out of a second story window. the incident remains under investigation. >> police in south jersey arrested a woman on suspicion that she helped her boyfriend during a murderous crime spree in virginia. andrea mullen who lives in elkton, virginia was captured in washington township gloucester county. police say her 1997 dodge caravan was used in a robbery in virginia. mullen's boyfriend, richard smith, is suspected of murdering an 80-year-old man then stealing his car. smith and the car have not been found. >> it is almost 6:zero seven

and protesters say a market in philadelphia's point breeze section is selling bb guns to minors. these protesters say that's against city ordinances. the protesters gathered last night outside the business itself. the point safe supermarket at point breeze and lat tone in a avenues. videos show kids saying they got the bb guns from the safe market. >> it's disgusting. you have a business that's selling bb guns to children and some of those children could be mistaken as using a real gun, could be possibly murdered. >> the owner of the point safe market would not talk to reporters and the store closed early last night. >> while atlantic city is clearly struggling from losing one casino after the other, the other resorts along the jersey shore are thriving. maribel aber has our market watch report live from the nasdaq in times square, hi, maribel. >> reporter: hi matt. big come back for businesses along the jersey shore.

a new way to pop the question. >> it's a $90 box. spend it on the ring. >> make the ring better. >> you'll never use the box before. >> hopefully. >> how about dolphins swim up at sea world and give you the ring. the ring is the thing. no precipitation out there as we take a look outside, though, it is not a pretty morning. i mean, it looks okay but it doesn't feel good as we've still got plenty of humidity left over from the last couple days and it's not going anywhere as we go through the afternoon. 76 degrees right now in philadelphia, very muggy out there as you step outside. 72 degrees in trenton. 68 in allentown. 74 in wilmington, 73 in millville and 75 in sea isle city. as we roll through the afternoon the dewpoints are going to be above 70 and that is the threshold for oppressive humidity so it is going to feel very, very sticky out there. you want to take it slow, lots of cool drinks if you're going to be doing anything outside. looks like we'll be in and out of the clouds and some sun mixing in through the morning. pretty much the same story in

the afternoon and while there is the chance of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon hours, the better chance appears to be in the evening and you can see there if anything does pop in this humid air mass it could produce a drenching downpour as well as a little bit of a gusty wind right out ahead of those cells. by 11 o'clock probably not much going on. adam and cecily will be along with down the shore not too bad other beach temperature-wise. it's going to be pretty warm with a high of 88 degrees on the beach off atlantic city. a late thunderstorm can't be ruled out probably not until evening but warm and very humid down on the beach as well. and in philadelphia we're going for a high of 94, hot and humid today. late thunderstorms can't be ruled out especially in the evening and a little bit breezy out there at times. not that that's really going to provide you with much relief, though. 78 degrees by 8:00 a.m. 86 degrees by 11 o'clock and then 93 by 2 o'clock with a high of 94 around 3:00.

by 5 o'clock we'll be back down to 90 and any other 80's by dinner hour but late in the day or evening that thunderstorm chance exists. tomorrow while there could be a little predawn sprinkle we have for you on radar during this broadcast the general flavor of the day is clouds giving way to sun, cooler air coming in from the north and west. it will still be warm but not as hot and not as humid tomorrow so we do get a quick break. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, hot and humid today, high of 94, late thunderstorm possible. less humid tomorrow with a high of 88 and great weather for the union at ppl park tomorrow night against toronto. sunny and warm nice on thursday, 88. sunny and hot on friday a-high of 90, maybe a little more humid on friday but not expected to be all that bad. saturday though warm and sticky, 88 degrees a-late thunderstorm possible and then a high around 80 on sunday, partly sunny for that eagles home opener at lincoln financial field and on sunday we'll have to look out for a pop-up shower or thunderstorm but hopeful that stuff misses the stadium.

>> welcome back. chopper 6 is lie over this breaking news coming to us from the pennsylvania turnpike. these are the westbound entrance ramps there andy in bensalem. karen has been talking about this for awhile. we have an overturned tractor-trailer. traffic seeming to get by around it. that has been a mess out there they've been dealing with. >> let's go to karen for more. >> let's get the latest as we look live with chopper 6 on the scene. here's the tractor-trailer. you can see it completely on its side. here's the difference right now. we can see they have the heavy duty tow truck, they have two of them and looks like they have it partially hooked up or trying to get ready to see if they can flip this up. they've got the flares out. this is the turnpike westbound as you head towards bensalem. here's the westbound traffic on that ramp. they're allowing traffic to get on the ramp. this is the eastbound flow right here onto the turnpike at bensalem. so watch for that right now.

the ramp from the pennsylvania turnpike westbound to bensalem, this overturned tractor-trailer and it is partially blocking the eastbound traffic as well as chopper 6 pans out a little bit or widens out a little bit you can see that we're not creating a big backup at this point but i think what can happen is that they might need to shut this down certainly as they flip this tractor-trailer up and move it out of here. so if that's the case a little bit later on you might want to stick to the delaware valley interchange or you can use the street road interchange, which is an ez pass only interchange so watch for that if you're heading westbound on the pennsylvania turnpike you can get by right now at that ramp to bensalem but not sure if they might need to shut that a little bit later. let's go right now to check some of the other areas. this is 422 approaching trooper. we're seeing that eastbound traffic a little building volume eastbound but not jammed just yet. we expect earlier jams as more and more people are getting back to school, back to work but not seeing too many problems just yet. don't forget the ramps connecting 422 eastbound with armand hammer boulevard

september 2nd. time to get a quick look at your weather and traffic with david murphy and karen rogers as not only do we go back to work but a lot of kids head back to school. good morning. >> yeah, you're right about that, tam. right now the top of the sun is just cresting the horizon over in the east. there's very little cloud cover around. take a look at satellite as we have that lack of cloud cover evident. out to the west of us clouds thicker and they may is that right to move towards the east as the afternoon goes on. 76 degrees in philadelphia t that higher humidity we felt over the weekend and in through labor day is definitely still with us this morning. 75 in sea isle city, 74 in wilmington. as we head out the door to catch that school bus, the temperature between seven and eight clock is till going to be pretty warm and it will feel muggy. mid to upper 70's between 7 and 8 o'clock as the last of the buses are getting to the school and as we go into the afternoon it is going to be hot. by noon we're up close to 90. by 3 o'clock 94, that's your high and with the high humidity it will feel like it's closer to 100.

you have to or the street road interchange. now we're looking live at the schuylkill expressway. this is near the conshohocken curve. that's your eastbound traffic right here. heavy from past the conshohocken to the curve so you're starting to get that building volume here on the schuylkill expressway. let's go over to a couple problems out there. a disabled vehicle causing an issue in montgomery county. this is big road near north charlotte street, this disabled vehicle just in. also the report of an accident in a busy area. this is gloucester township camden county sicklerville road near hickstown road. few problems this morning. extra volume on the roads of course with more and more people headed back to school, tam. >> thank you, karen. and we're following a breaking story right now. more than two dozen teenaged convicts have escaped from a tennessee detention center and many of these kids have committed violent crimes. erin o'hearn is following this breaking story live in the satellite center. good morning. >> a very anxious scene emerging around the department of children services in nashville. at least 32 teenagers all felons escaped from a facility

late last night. and police say the escape occurred around 11:00 p.m. which is approximately 30 minutes after a shift change at the woodland him youth development center. officials think the juveniles escaped from the dorm into a courtyard and likely pulled up some fencing to get out. all the escapees range from ages 14 to 17 years old. in order to be admitted to this facility the juveniles must have committed at least three felonies. now only seven of the 32 teenagers who escaped have been apprehended by police. and that was as of 4:30 a.m. this morning. 25 others are uncan accounted for so the search continues for those teens. i'm live in the satellite center, erin o'hearn, channel 6 "action news." back to you matt. >> erin thank you. the enormous process of closing an enormous casino and hotel in atlantic city is just about complete. the casino at the revel clods its doors less than 30 minutes ago. live in atlantic city, david henry, channel 6 "action news." matt. >> all right, david, thank you. atlantic city has seen the total revenue of its casino industry nearly cut in half since 2006. it fell from 5.2 billion to under $2.9 billion in the last year. pennsylvania launched gambling in 2006 and as grown from a $450 million to a 3 billion-dollar industry in the last fiscal year eclipsing atlantic city and clearly stealing business. >> grief counselors will be on hand at council rock south high school today as freshmen arrive for student orientation. the bucks county school opened its doors on labor day to offer assistance to students and staff coping with the loss of three high school sophomores over the weekend. ryan lesher, cullen keffer and shamus digney were killed in a rollover crash saturday in the poconos. the school community is remembering all three as bright young men who were involved in a number of sports and activities. >> just three bright lights,

three tremendous individuals who shared their gifts and talents with council rock south and those bright lights were extinguished way too soon. >> the entire student body returns tomorrow for the first day of brass classes. >> the fbi taking part into the investigation into that hacking scandal that involved nude celebrity photos pluck fred supposedly secure i cloud accounts. the list of celebrity victims is lengthy with the likes of actress jennifer lawrence and model kate upton. apple says it fix add bug that allowed hackers to gain access to users' private i cloud accounts. that is a storage program that backs up people's pictures, e-mails and documents automatically from iphones and ipads.
