we have a cold front off to the north that last night produce maryland thunderstorms at a watch box off to our north. today that action will get closer to us although i think most of our thunderstorms and shower activity today probably holds off until this evening but that's where the focus is going to be along the face that of front. 76 degrees is your current temperature in philadelphia, 74 in wilmington, 68 in allentown, 76 in reading, 74 in trenton, sea isle city not reporting but up the coast at the boardwalk in atlantic city you're at 71, probably pretty much the same story in south jersey along the cape may shore line. and 80 degrees is your 9 o'clock temperature. so, it's not going to take long for us to bounce up today. by noon, 88. by 3 o'clock, 93 degrees and like yesterday i think we'll get our high probably around 3:30 in the afternoon and today we're going to go for 94 degrees for a high. we're still holding onto 90 at 6 o'clock. could be a little shower around through the afternoon, maybe even a pop-up thunderstorm but the best chance is late in the day and in the evening. once again it is sunburn

weather out there today with a fair amount of sunshine mixing with clouds. u.v. index is running high. matt pelman more on those storms coming up okay. >> need a cool drink already this morning. it's 60 out there at 5 o'clock. good morning, mr. murphy. construction crews are heading out of the way in most spots getting some refreshment hopefully as they leave. weaver looking at 95 southbound by girard avenue in the ongoing work zone, the extra overnight construction has cleared, crews now out of the way and you're back to the three southbound lanes as you head towards center city. also out of the way in south philadelphia the crash that was on the ramp from 95 southbound to broad street. no need to worry about that anymore and things look good so far this morning on the schuylkill as well as the roosevelt boulevard but there's a broken down vehicle in plymouth township on ridge pike at colwell lane. traffic stoppages of 20 minutes scheduled for about the next hour so watch out for that if that is your ramp. on the eastbound turnpike near willow grove saw some work taking out two lanes and

there's construction on the northbound northeast extension block pentagon the right lane past quakertown. matt. >> we're following breaking news in bucks county where gunfire left one man dead and two people wounded. "action news" reporter katherine scott is knife bristol township where this happened with an update on what we know so far. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, matt. investigators are still trying to figure out what exactly happened here overnight but two people are in the hospital right now with gun shot wounds. police have not confirmed their condition. and and another man, a third man died. he was pronounced dead on the scene here from his injuries this morning in this triple shooting and you can see that the scene remains closed off this morning. investigators are continuing to gather evidence and collect interviews. police say this home has been described as a problem home by neighbors but they did not go into detail about it. police were called to the home on the 900 block of windor drive. when they arrived they found one man inside the home, he had been shot and already

died. another man was injured. the second injured man was able to go to a neighbor's home to call 911 and police say that was the only 911 call to come in about this. what was happening before those shots were fired, that all remains under investigation. >> it was very quiet. we had no reports of anything. in fact, our first idea that anything was wrong was when one of the victims went to a neighbor's house. at this point there were no reports of any gun shots in the neighborhood, even after the incident we still didn't get any reports of any gun shots. >> reporter: and back here live on the scene in bristol township where police were waiting for a search war rant. the weapon has not been recovered yet but they said multiple shell casings were found inside the home. police say they have no known suspects at this point. again, this all remains under investigation here this morning. we're live in bristol township, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> katherine thanks so much for that report. a southwest philadelphia community is calm this morning

after a night of angry protests over the response time to a weekend fire that killed four young children. last night a line of police separated the protesters from ladder four engine 40. the firehouse around the corner from the deadly blaze. demonstrators say firefighters took too long to get to the fire. but fire commissioner derek sawyer says once fire radio got the call of the house fire, firefighters arrived on the scene in three minutes. mayor michael nutter says firefighters are not to blame for the children's deaths. >> the members of the philadelphia fire department and in particular the members serving at engine 40 and ladder four responded in a very timely fashion to this fire. any information being put out by other individuals that indicates otherwise is absolutely, positively directly incorrect.

>> officials say they are going to release dispatch calls that will show just how quickly firefighters responded. >> those closest to a woman who was shot and killed by a stray bullet in wilmington, delaware, mourn her loss during a vigil and called for justice. dozens of people gathered outside the home of 44-year-old crystal brown last night. she was caught in the middle of a shootout on sunday night just as she was walking out of the adams mark near seventh and adams streets. brown's mother says the killer stole a wonderful person from this world. >> my daughter was a kind person. she would do anything for anybody. she loved the kids. she would take the kids to the storks buy them things. this was her aunt. she loved her aunt. she would always look out for her aunt. she looked out for her father and i. she was a good person. she was an intelligent young lady. she was a good person. she didn't deserve this. >> brown's mother called on the person who fired the gun to do the right thing and turn

himself in. >> a delaware county school district adopted a new multi-million dollars budget. the chester-upland school district adopted a $118 million budget last night at a special meeting with the public. this budget represents a decrease of 3.5 percent over last year. district officials credit the sale of two buildings and other cost cutting measures for that decrease. >> david joins us and today much like yesterday until you get to the latter part of the day, rider? >> yeah, we are hot, we're sticky and then we get some thunderstorms late in the day. maybe holding off until tonight in some neighborhoods. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows we're dry for the morning commute as expected. as we look outside we have sky 6. there is going to be some sun coming up over the horizon this morning. you can get a sense of that sky beginning to get brighter not that there won't be any clouds but i think we'll start out very bright but we'll get a clouds and sun mix later on. 76 degrees is the current temperature in philadelphia,

74 in wilmington, 68 allentown, 71 in sea isle city. a little bit on the sticky side out there but not oppressive. future tracker 6 shows you that as we go up until about midday there isn't a whole lot of precipitation around. we may see a little shower pop through the northern and western suburbs. can't totally rule out a thunderstorm this afternoon but the big action will probably hold off until later this evening and tonight as the cold front that's off to our north and west gets closer and we fire up some heavier showers and thunderstorms. now, anything that does pop later this evening could produce heavy downpours, some strong gusty winds potentially, maybe even a little hail and i wouldn't be surprised if later tonight sometime in the evening hours we wind up with some thunderstorm warnings and that's of course something you can follow on your 6abc app on your smartphone or on 6abc.com or with cecily and adam later this afternoon and again later this evening. a lot of ways to keep track of the weather right here with channel 6. allentown a thunderstorm can't be ruled out 91 degrees is the high there so it will be on

the hot side. on the beach getting pretty toasty, too. 83 by noon. by 3 o'clock about 87 degrees, clouds and sun a bit humid. u.v. index will be high again today both on the beach and and land at the pools for that matter and the water temperature is still kind of cool down in the low to mid 60's. and 94 is your high in philadelphia. clouds and sun, humid, a late day thunderstorm can't be ruled out, maybe a little bit of a shower mixed in as well. there you see how the numbers are going to go. 77 by 8 o'clock, 83 by 11 o'clock, 89 by 2 o'clock and 91 degrees by 5:00 coming down from that high of 94. we'll probably lit that around 3:30. that's when the high hit thursday. future tracker 6 on wednesday shows we're unsettled but an occasional sprinkle or shower pong through at times and we can't totally rule out a thunderstorm popping there as well. your exclusive accuweather 7-day 94 is today's high, hot and humid conditions out there with a late day shower or thunderstorm possible but a better chance later on tonight. and then warm and humid on wednesday, a high of 89 and a thunderstorm can't be ruled out at times on wednesday.

on thursday, clouds and sun, 86 degrees. we'll leave the mention of a pop-up afternoon thunderstorm in there but generally speaking i think this is a transition to better weather on thursday and friday we're looking at a sunny and nice afternoon with a high of 85. on saturday and sunday, we'll gradually feel that humidity move back in and it could be a spotty thunderstorm around both saturday and sunday. saturday night at ppl is 6abc night at the soccer match. >> awesome. thanks so much david. >> yup. >> time now is 5:10. didn't see last night including a new video showing a powerful typhoon pummeling an aisle lands notion overseas. >> abandoned and alone and police want to know who left a baby on a new york city subway platform. matt. >> good morning, matt, looking good so far on this tuesday morning here in northeast philadelphia along woodhaven road at knight's road. eastbound come the headlights towards i-95 but the new construction zones are starting today. we'll tell you will the spots where you don't want to go after the break.

what's cooking in chester county. it's not a whole lot along 202. northbound overnight construction headed towards the schuylkill that is now out of the way. southbound no construction restrictions either. of course we'll have some restrictions over the next few nights on southbound 202 as they begin the efforts to shift some of that southbound traffic onto the new pavement. still going to be two lanes in either way but starting this weekends you're going to see traffic rolling on those newly constructed lanes so that will be a nice smooth ride for you. here's a new project that starts this week. 113 closing in trappe montgomery county between ridge pike by the getty station and route 29. going to be out of commission during the middays from nine until 4 o'clock each day this week so you may want to stuck with 29 as an alternate or use seventh avenue which is also trappe road. closure that starts this morning here in falls township bucks county of old route 13. they've been doing a lot of work in this area because of some deteriorated drainage pipes. today it closes entirely for the next couple weeks between

penn valley road and mill creek road. upper darby delco providence road closes between lansdowne avenue and springfield road 9 o'clock until 3 o'clock for water main replacement. let's go to the ipad. over y'all as we said things aren't looking too bad as you head out for your tuesday morning commute. a vehicle stopped on the schuylkill westbound near bala cynwyd. matt. >> a powerful typhoon struck the southern japanese islands of okinawa generating 46-foot waves. typhoon neoguri passed over the island with waves of 108 miles per hour. 52,000 members of the american military live on the island. the storm has knocked out power to 22,000 households on okay. the neoguri size and slow movement are expected o to cause more outages flooding

and mudslides. >> the defense rested its case in the murder trial of oscar pistorius. final arguments will be held on august 7th. a video has surfaced of the olympic runner reenacting the deadly shooting of his girlfriend. it shows pistorius running without his prosthetic legs and demonstrating reeva steenkamp's position in the bathroom after she was shot. the video was prepared for the defense. it has not been shown at the trial. pistorius faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted. new york city police are talking to the woman who they say abandoned her baby at a subway station. they say the woman pushed the baby's stroller onto the platform when the train arrived then she got back onto the train. a commuter took the 10-month-old to police. police took the 20 year old mother into custody overnight. she told police she couldn't take care of the little girl. no word if she will be charged. >> the sixers return to action tonight against houston in

93 by 3 o'clock, your high of 94 hits at about 3:30 this afternoon and then we're still holding 90 by 6 o'clock. the later you go through the day the better chance of a pop-up shower and thunderstorm and i think heavy storms are possible later this evening. on the airport board all green airplanes in all of our most traveled destinations. hopefully no problems flying in and out erin. >> thank you david. a new study out of johns hopkins suggests people younger than 21 may be drawn in by ads from top alcohol brands. researchers found men between 18 and 20 years old were nine times as like to report being influenced by ads from popular brands than by ads from less popular brands. for women in that same age group, they were five and a half times as likely. the study only looked at magazine ads from 2011. a mosquito borne virus has now spread to 27 states in the u.s.

the chicken gunya virus has been seen in africa, asia and parts of europe and more recently in the caribbean. that's where many americans are picking it up. it is not fatal but it can cause fever, muscle aches and severe joint pain. the best protection is prevention using repellant wearing sleeves and getting rid of standing water. >> supporters of raising the minimum wage are touting stats that indicate it's good for the economy. abc's renna ninan has america's money. >> reporter: topping america's money minimum wage maximum benefit. a study finds there's stronger job growth in all 13 states that raised their minimum wages in january than in the other three dozen that didn't. critics argued the opposite would happen. california now has world's eighth largest economy bigger than russia and italy and the golden state's even closing in on france and britain. economists say two of the reasons are silicon valley and the movie industry. crumbs the cupcake maker
