and sun mix on the way as well. there is rain out to the west. the own thing we're looking for today is a very stray thunderstorm. most of you probably missed that this afternoon. tomorrow there will be a better chance of some precipitation. 73 degrees in philadelphia right now and 72 in allentown. again, a bit on the humid side. you'll feel that i think as you step outside. 72 in wilmington. 70 in trenton. 72 in sea isle. very even numbers early on. your dewpoints are up there. we're in the mid 60's in philadelphia. upper 60's in wilmington and up over 70 in some areas down south. anything over 60 is humid. you get around 65 and you're getting fairly noticeably humid out there so a bit more so today than yesterday probably in some neighborhoods. and these numbers are going to climb today. 79 by 9:00, 87 by noon. 91 degrees then by 3 o'clock and we're probably going the hit our high of 92 right there about 4 o'clock before we dip back to 88 by 6 o'clock. the other issue of course is down the coast in florida as tropical depression number one has formed late last night in case you missed it on "action news" at 11:00 last night.

this is expected to become tropical storm arthur later today and it's expected to make a run up the coast but will it be close enough to the coast to affect our fourth of july. more about that coming up karen. >> an early accident in southwest philadelphia the. watch for it on i-95 near the airport. that's southbound. you can see the flashing lights. it's blocking the left side of the road. we do have emergency workers on the scene with this but traffic is getting by at this early hour. an accident in southwest philadelphia, i-95 southbound near the airport so if you're headed out of town you're going to deal with this one but traffic is getting by and the action cam was on the scene in lower merion. problems here. conshohocken state road is closed, that's route 23 shut down between manayunk road and rockhill road. that's until 3 o'clock. so, close to the morning commute. emergency sewer and road repairs the problem and you can see the blockage out there right now. woodbine avenue or the schuylkill a good alternate. of course you like to take conshohocken state road to avoid the mess on the schuylkill. today you can't do that until after 3 o'clock at this point.

on the big picture, university city chestnut street closed as well between 38th and 37th. a water main break. stick to market street as your alternate. it was supposed to be quiet this week, matt. not just yet. >> yeah, indeed. thank you karen. a venture into the tacony creek turned tragic. the rushing water was too much for one teen. katherine scott is live in the juniata park section with new reaction. >> reporter: police were out yesterday elsewhere in the city talking to teenagers and kids about swimming in area creeks and rivers when it gets hot out because tragedies like this happen too often. and it happened here yesterday. this path leads down to the tacony creek and police were called out here in juniata around 5:45 last evening. police spoke to teenagers, witnesses who said a 15-year-old boy who was swimming in the creek under the bridge at fisher's lane he went under and he did not resurface. first responders jumped into the creek where it's about 8 feet deep. police and fire department paramedics were able to pull

his body out. he was completely unconscious. police say medics worked on him for awhile but he was pronounced dead at 6:13 last evening. police say there are a lot of hidden hazards that make area creeks and rivers dangerous for swimming and they are urging people to look for other alternatives to cool off. >> you're in this water and you can hit your head, you can get caught on something and there's still always a little bit of a current that could pull you under. so, it's totally different than a swimming pool where the water is calm, you can see the bottom. >> reporter: and again it's another hot one out here today, so police are urging people not to go swimming in these creeks and rivers. look for different alternatives. we're live in juniata, katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." >> katherine, thank you. and we are tracking several new stories from the overnight including a shooting investigation in south jersey and delaware. let's go live to the "action news" big board. erin o'hearn has all the new details.

erin good morning. >> reporter: good morning, nydia. let's start with an incident last night in delaware. new castle county police are investigating the shooting of a man in the sparrow run townhouses. around 10 o'clock there were reports of shots fired in there area. when officers arrived, a victim was found with gun shot wounds. he was taken to christiana hospital where he was pronounced dead. no arrests have been made and detectives are trying to determine a motive for the shooting. police are also investigating another shooting in pleasantville. this also happened around 10 o'clock last night near woodlynne and hendrix streets. details are sketchy at this point. police are focusing on an souvenir the scene. no word on the condition of any victim. finally police release add new clue in their search for app sexual assault suspect in camden. this is a sketch of the alleged predator. officers say he forced a woman who into his car on the 500 block of spruce street last thursday. the suspect was last seen in that white toyota avalon you see passing your screen there. anyone who recognizes the

suspect sketch or that vehicle should contact camden county police immediately. nydia, back to you. >> erin, thank you. a house fire in pennsauken, new jersey, has injured one person. chopper 6 was over the home a little after 6 o'clock last night. the house is along the 2800 block of powell avenue. it took crews about a half thousand get the blaze under control. the injured person was alert when put in an ambulance. investigators are looking for the cause of the fire. >> republicans who control the pennsylvania legislature passed a $29 billion budget beating the midnight deadline. the vote was 108 to 95. minority democrats lashed out at the lack of a new tax on the natural gas industry and say the budget does little to reverse cuts in aid to public schools. governor corbett though says he will not sign the budget immediately because it does not deal with pension reforms. corbett gave no indication when or if he would sign the budget. the philadelphia school district has a new budget but it will be left with a $93 million shortfall if it

doesn't find new funding. the school reform commission unanimously approved the $2.6 billion spending plan for the school year starting in september. the src opted not to approve a doomsday budget that includes layoffs and closures. the state senate is expected to hold a final vote on the bill today that would allow philadelphia to raise its cigarette tax. revenues from the hike would go to aid public schools. >> getting hot and humid today, right, david? >> it is. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows that you say we are without any precipitation so that's nice i guess, although generally speaking we would probably prefer seeing at least some precipitation out there, hm? when it's hot and humid it kind of gives i was break. as we take a look outside, dry conditions the airport. it really feels muggy as you step outside, maybe a little more snow some neighborhoods than yesterday morning and i think there's a chance in in general it is a bit more humid as we move through the day. 73 degrees in philadelphia currently, 72 in wilmington, same thing up in allentown, so everybody looking at even numbers.

numbers not too bad to start out. satellite and radar shows you that you might want your sunglasses heading up and down i-95 or the turnpike today as we're looking at a clouds and sun mix this morning and probably speaking with that through most the day. there's rain out to the west. the slight chance of a pop-up stray thunderstorm later this afternoon and this evening but most of you probably don't see that. the big issue dark heat and humidity. you'll feel it in allentown, a high of 90 humid, mix of sun and clouds, stray thunderstorm possible. down the shore probably drive. of course you always head off the beach if you hear thunder. 79 degrees by noon. in philadelphia t-a high of 92 degrees, sun mixing with clouds. humid conditions, a slight chance of a stray thunderstorm later in the day. as we roll through the day numbers are going to climb this away. 76 by 8 o'clock 84 by 11 o'clock and then in the low 90's between 2 o'clock and 5 o'clock still holding close to

90 by 6 o'clock. then tomorrow well we have some clouds building a little bit as the day goes on and as we go through the afternoon and evening there is chance of showers building in and occasionally we are allowing for some drenching thunderstorms at times. not everybody will see them tomorrow. but they could be drenching and also perhaps a little bit on the gusty side as well. down in the tropics -- i knew that was going to happen and i just couldn't stop it. oh, well. we have the development of tropical depression number one. this happened last night and this is expected to become tropical storm arthur, the first of the season in the atlantic basin later damaged the storm is looking to make a move to the north. there by the way is that current stat. 35 miles per hour winds. this has to develop 39 miles per hour winds in order to become a tropical storm so it probably does happen later today. it does look like it's going to track up the coast. the latest model indications and this is consistent with what we saw yesterday is that we keep this storm off the coast. the latest model run that's

just in suggests this might actually be a category one hurricane by the time it does get past us and in that case we would see some winds, maybe some rain early in the day on fourth of july but we're hoping that it scoots past us fast enough where we'll get some afternoon drying. i will be careful of rip currents down the shore though especially on friday, maybe saturday as well. your seven-day from accuweather shows a high of 92 degrees, hot and humid and just a stray thunderstorm around. tomorrow humid, a high of 95t it will be oppressively humid tomorrow and any storms that manage to form could produce drenching downpours and perhaps gusty winds. thursday warm and muggy, 88. still drenching thunderstorms possible. at this point we'll call the fourth of july i'm just going to say stays unsettled for now with a high of 82 with the understanding that it all depends on the track of that storm and hopefully it's far enough off the coast to give us issues mainly in the morning and not so much in the afternoon and evening with some showers and maybe a thunderstorm. weekend looks real good. >> good. thanks, david. 5:10 now.

avenue. >> let's head to the burbs with karen rogers much how is it looking. >> a few problems at this early hour. the action cam was on the scene this one. conshohocken state road is closed in lower merion. route 23. you can see the sign here. road closed. they set up this because of emergency construction. sewer and road repairs going on right now and lasting until at least 3 o'clock in the afternoon so you got to watch for this. you can't take route 23, conshohocken state road all through the morning commute into about 3 o'clock. stick to woodbine avenue or the schuylkill or they'll send you through local detours like manayunk road, bryn mawr avenue, rockhill road to avoid the road closure right here. the action cam was on the scene. that's not the only problem out here. if mount ephraim camden county kings highway a busy area right there. a lot of people take kings highway. at lincoln avenue we have a downed pole from an earlier accident so you might want to avoid it and stick to browning road as your alternate. in mount laurel burlington county we've got construction going on until 6 o'clock. creek road is closed between

centerton and masonville road. you want to watch for this. also the ramp to 295 closed so a lot of construction making closures there. rancocas road is your alternate to deal with that one. time for your commuter traffic report which you get to be a part of when you download the free waze app. we have people right here talking about that accident i told you about on i-95 southbound near airport. so if you're headed in that direction or going out of town you'll see this accident on i-95 southbound. it's mostly off to the side and traffic is getting by okay so that one is not going to cause you too many problems but you'll see it out there. how about the temperatures? 66 degrees in quakertown. we're dry this morning but we're warming up. saint davids 69. some of the suburbs in new jersey, 71 in browns mills and in delaware, 71 degrees, headed up to a the ho and rather humid 92 today, nydia. >> karen, thank you. new this morning, a man has been killed in iowa after powerful winds knocked down the industrial building he was working in. the structure collapsed during yesterday's storm in lynn

county trapping the victim under the debris. he was pronounced dead at the scene. severe weather ripped across much of iowa yesterday causing damage to several properties and extensive flooding as well. also new this morning a fiery plane crash in a wooded area west of denver, colorado killed the three people on board. the single engine plane just missed a love land ski area chair lift as it slammed into the side of a mountain. the resort is closed for the season. officials so far have not been able to identify the victims or the plane. the aircraft identification numbers were destroyed in the fire. >> the last place phillies start a 10 game road trip tonight and it could determine whether this team gets dismantled by the end of the month. a.j. burnett will take the mound tonight against the marlins in miami. multiple reports say lane johnson faces a suspension. reports say he tested positive for perm man's enhancing drugs. johnson as a rookie last
