traveling the westbound direction, the ben, you're going to notice those taillights will bunch up at the mid-span, as you try and get down in toward center city. , now, to the roost develop, if you are commuting southbound direction toward the schuylkill, it is not awful. northbound not awful either. but, once you get to 76, little bit of a different story. if you are traveling westbound, you slow down as you make your way approaching the roosevelt boulevard, then out toward the blue route eastbound, slowing down, western suburbs, as well, dropping down to 15 on the southbound side of 95, and very slow really out of the northeast all the way down through the vine. good news we don't have anything major going on for mass transit or at the airport . >> two suspect made off with a victim car, just been recovered in northeast philadelphia. we're work to go learn more on the victim's condition at this point, and police are still searching for the suspects, at

this hour. also, breaking a wawa is robbed in northeast philadelphia. this happened shortly after 3:00 this morning, on the 800 block of cottman avenue in fox chase. investigators say a gunman walked in, demanded cash, he got away with about a thousand dollars. luckily no one was injured. also, breaking this morning, the winner of the nobel peace prize has been announced. the first, malala yousafzai. the pakistani teenager was shot in the head by taliban militants in 2012 but she survived and is now a global advocate for children's education. now, the other winner is kailash satyarthi of india, kailash satyarthi also children's rights activist who has fought against child labor for decades. and, airline passengers comment about ebola, it sparks quite the scare in the air. >> all happened on board us airways flight from philly to punt a can a jan carabeo joins us now at philadelphia international with the dramatic response, jan, good

an unidentified man from the plane, and the airline confirmed the incident in a statement reading in part: we are following the direction of and strictly adhering to all centers for disease control and prevention guidelines in place for airlines and in response to the ebola virus, the flight checked by officials and cleared. those in the medical community say they would have quickly learned if the case had been real. than this incident should remind people of the how serious ebola has become. >> from medical perspective, does not seem to be a joke that went badly. i would advise people to take this seriously, ebola is no joke. people are very angus about it. >> judge the airline goes on to say, apologizes for any inconvenience, but the safety of its passengers and its employees is the first priority. now, starting tomorrow, and next week, 5us airports are going to be starting stricter

screening, of passengers coming from west africa, philly, however; not one of those airports. reporting live outside of philadelphia international airport, jan carabeo, "eyewitness news" on the "cw" fill. >> i jan, thank you. meanwhile, law make letters hold hearing today in dallas over the death of thomas eric duncan, the first ebola patient to die here in the u.s. duncan was initially released from the hospital after he became ill. also, in dallas, officials say a sheriff's deputy who exited symptoms of ebola tested negative for the disease. that deputy had been inside the dallas apartment shared by duncan. also happening today, man kick vet of killing a baby and grandmother in a botched kidnapping attempt is due in court for the start of his penalty phase. jury found ragu guilty for first degree murder for his role in the deaths of ten ponds old sanvi and her 61 year old grandmother. kidnap for ransom went terribly wrong back in october

bandits struck once in camden, twice along the white horse pike in audubon. experience this morning, it is a beautiful friday morning. really the commute is not awful at all. but you are going to have delays. not so much here, though. this is 95, if you are traveling around 452, delaware county as you can see moving just fine, both northbound and southbound. but when we switch up the camera shots, we show you that little bit of difference story traveling elsewhere, like traveling on 476. traveling on the blue route, both northbound and southbound, starting to feel that heat right around the area of route one. which is this area right here. if you are commuting in the northbound direction, that's going to be your heavier delay as of right now. if you are traveling in montgomery county shore ham, accident at welsh at blair mill, trying avoid the stretch if you k looking at travel times, so southbound on 476, seems to be in the clear between 76 and 95, again the volume building around route one. eastbound on the schuylkill about 24 minute commute between western suburbs in the city then southbound 95 forget about it out of the northeast making your way down toward the vine st. expressway.

>> potential presidential contenders stomp for pennsylvania governor, governor tom corbett joined by new jersey governor chris christie at rally in delaware county. christy told the crowd tomorrow wolf will lie in order to obtain power. republicans campaigned at the valley forge military academy in wayne. meantime, former secretary of state, hillary clinton, campaigned for democratic challenger tom wolf in philadelphia. the so-called women for wolf rally, it was cents held at the national constitution center, the latest polls give wolf a double digit lead over governor corbett right now, reelection day less than four weeks away. new this morning, former nobel peace prize winner mikhail golf chef, in the hospital. aren't too many details about the condition of the former soviet lead here has received treatment in the past for severe form of diabetes. but, russian news agencies report the 83 year old gorbachev told them his health is deteriorating, and he's determined to fight for his life. protesters in st. louis

face-off with police, they're angered by the fatal shooting of 18 year old black man by an off-duty police officer. authorities say deandre myers was killed wednesday night by an officer, who was working as is a security guard. police say the white officer who killed myers was returning fire, but myers parents say that he was unarmed. myers' death comes two months after the august 9th fatal shooting of unarmed michael brown in nearby ferguson, missouri. now, we've also got new information about jest see matthew junior man implicated in the disappearance of two college students in virginia, sources now confirm that matthew was working asomugha cab driver, the night virginia tech student morgan harrington disappeared. harrington was found dead in early 2010. months after she left a concert, and never got home. matthew was never charged in that case. but he has been arrested now in the disappearance of university of virginia student, hannah graham who vanish last month. the search for gram is ongoing. texas prosecutors want

meteorologist katie fehlinger is in the weather center. umbrella necessary today? >> eventually. if you're out through the day height hours, can probably get away without t latest frontal boundary stalling out. see moisture starting to fire up here, off to the southwest. it is going to take some time for this all to actually move north, how much. so you will get most of the day in with really just view like this a loft clouds out there. that's certainly what we're phone g outside beach patrol headquarters and starting to take over the skyline for pretty much everybody at this point. so i would say, as early as late this afternoon, start to see the first raindrops falling from the steadiest of the showers, and they will get even steadier, and turn into just straight up rainfall.

airline passenger's comment about ebola sparks a scare in the air. it all happened on us airways flight from philadelphia to punt a can an in the dominican republic. jan carabeo live at philadelphia international airport this morning to tell us about the dramatic response

it's created, jan? cents. >> reporter: dramatic response on flight from philly, that landed in punta cana, the dominican republic, this is that video of the response, up loaded to youtube. take a look. this is us airways flight a45, when it landed in punta cana, a flight attendant made announcement, she said, people were coming on board, and asked passengers to please let them do their job. you can see, a team of local officials wearing hazmat suits boarded the plane and walk to the back, the person who up loaded it video says passengers were told by flight attendants that there was cents a situation, and that a passenger may have been in africa and had ebola. she added, though, that she was certain it was cents a hoax, but did not take any chances. officials later took an unidentified man off the plane, and afterward the airline confirmed the incident and apologized for any inconvenience, those in the

screening of passengers, coming from west africa, philly, how much; not on that list. reporting live outside of philadelphia international airport, jan carabeo, "eyewitness news" on the "cw philly". january, thank you very much. of those screenings, jan mentioned, one begins this weekend, starting tomorrow, passengers arriving from west africa will be questioned, and examined, at jfk in new york. the rest of the screenings start next week, at newark, dullos, o'hare, hearts field airports. new jersey governor chris christie spoke about the need to ramp up security to keep this deadly virus from spread. >> of course we're concerned. but that concern is being moved into action. i hope the federal government moves even more quickly to get newark airport up and ready to go from that perspective. never charge of that aspect of providing security at our airports. >> christie also said he was assured by the white house that the owe bad a -- obama administration was moving as quickly as possible. similar screening already in place in west africa.

now, to "eyewitness news" exclusive. a by err says the university of pennsylvania police officer took things a little too far in a confrontation caught on tape. >> you're going to pepper spray me? >> this u pen officer pulled over sarah rodriguez for running a red light. she said she did not stop right away, but when she did, thinks he is call ate dollars. and that's when a bystander started recordingment rodriguez claims another officer responded and used homophobic slurs while insisting the bystander stop recording. in the end, rodriguez was ticketed and says she accepts responsibility for going through that red light. but, she adds, that the officer's actions cents were unwarranted. >> someone slamming their bike into me, trying to make me crash, and then holding a can of pepper spray. that's ridiculous, that's excessive force. >> penn police tell "eyewitness news" the officer was simply enforcing the traffic laws as it is currently in the middle of their share the road campaign. the department says it will

investigate the other allegations. just past 7:33, let's get our traffic and weather together. how are we looking this friday, katy? >> casino of half and half here. spec to go see the clouds continue to thick win time here. that in part will limit the amount of warm that can take place for us. we've been talking basically all week about the possibilities more rain, and definitely coming our way, but the timing has slowed down a little bit. so what that means is that, yes, you can already see some of the moisture starting to fire up here, in the form of showers, south of dc, for example, this could take little bit more time for this to actually lift into our region, delaware will see it first, moves in basically from southwest to northeast, with time, but here is a good synopsis how things will go here today. expect mainly cloudy skies through the better part of the day, toward 9:00 p.m., it is starting get little damp, but generally those, the showers, really hold off until at least the time the sun goes down. and then overnight, that steady rain basically just completely takes over the entire region, and it will soak us, at least through tomorrow morning, before

gradually tapering often by midday. from northwest to southeast. so, that said, i would say, you know, the later your outdoor plans tomorrow the drier will likely be, in philadelphia today at best we are talking up aerials, we'll struggle to hit 06, a even in the poconos, a lot of the surrounding regions, shore points probably just little milder here today with on shore flow. but the clouds are a running theme for everybody. if you still have little bit of sun for now, don't get too used to it, clouds will thicken, most of the day just kind of dreary looking. vittoria? >> thank you so much, katie. also right now, experiencing some of that sun glare, katie was saying, not too much, but if you are traveling on parts of 95, definately will feel rush hour delays as well as some of the sun glare, and in this particular area, residual delays from earlier disable vehicle, that was taking out one of the lanes, so, southbound 95, slow going out of the northeast all the way down through the vine there is shot here, not too far away from the area of the betsy ross bridge. soap, it definitely looks like a rush hour commute this friday morning. as we take a look at the ben

franklin bridge, notice approaching the mid-span, then down toward eighth and vine on the westbound side of the ben you will be jam. we have construction taking out the two right lanes, and really just rush hour. moving our way into huntington valley montgomery county, accident philmont avenue at hillside avenue. try to avoid that stretch if you k also not too far away in horsham, rush mill, blair mill road, known accident scene. out there for quite a while. some of the travels time, westbound on the pa turnpike still not awful there. not awful as well 476, again, southbound side of 95 slow for sure, woodhaven all the way down through to the vine at 33 minutes. but expect delays on the schuylkill expressway for sure, touch of traffic if you are traveling on the vine st. expressway around broad street westbound. erika? >> torrey, thank you. dairy queen is the latest chain to join long litz of businesses targeted by hackers. the fast-food chain says that haak ers may have stolen customers credit and debit card numbers. at almost 400 stores, there are targeted between august and october. we check and the affected restaurants close toast philadelphia are in reading,
