i am charley crowson. fog on your monday, a little rain on the tuesday. let's check in with more frommeteorologist justin berk. we are talking winter in just two days. we will be wake up with a completely different setup and doesn't look like it and it doesn't feel like it. with 58 at northeast and off toward the eastern shore. and where centerville is look upper 50s to near 60678955 in annapolis and 57 back towards ellicott city and we have had rain roll through. last shower cape to the north. it raced through maryland's most powerful doppler. this band in frederick trying to charge to the east mount airy getting in on it heading back towards york, p.a. and hitting the counties as well. coming in near rockville sliding its way towards laurel probably the next half-hour to hour. overall wider view. much more back to the west. a little reenforcement with new wave of low pressure along the frontal boundary. look at cold air and snow on the backside and that's important because we will be watching that all catch up with

charley. it's been an agonizing time for virginia parents as their daughter was found dead in 2008. today a possible break in the case and for more let's go tosherrie johnson with more on developing story. >> reporter: yes there's new developments in the three-year- old case. today annie mccann's parents will meet with detectives. the arrest of 21-year-old darnel kinlaw for the murder of his girlfriend has the parents hopeful they will find out what happened to their daughter. annie mccann was found dead in 2002348 baltimore after running away from her virginia home on halloween. police ruled the death a suicide. but her family never believed it. darnel kinlaw was never implicated in the death and he and others were charged with taking the teen's volvo and discovering her body in the back seat and putting it by dumpsters in southeast baltimore. last month, he was charged with the murder of his girlfriend. police now plan to question him further about mccann's death.

his family is asking not to give up and keep them in their prayers. a baltimore city police officer is. is taken to shock trauma with a gunshot wound to the arm in the case of friendly fire. the investigation started off as a search warrant on drug charges. police took a suspect into custody and seized 27 pounds of suspected marijuana and just under a thousand dollars cash. minutes later officers went inside. >> it appears that once the entry was made inside theresidence at a point a weapon discharged from one of the tasforce officers from baltimore county and it struck one of the officers from the task force from baltimore city. >> police are investigating but right now it looks like the shooting was accidental. the defense attorney for a maryland soldier is focusing on the soldier's mental state. his attorney came up with 48 defense witnesses among them president obama, secretary of state hillary clinton. manning is charged with 22

counts including aiding the enemy. hearing in fort meade will determine whether or not he will be court martialed. 9:30 former prince george's county executive jack johnson is expected to be sentenced. back in may he pleaded guilty to extortion and witness and evidence tampering. he was indicted in february on charges that he accepted cash campaign contributions and other gifts in exchange for helping developers secure millions of dollars in federal grant money. also this morning, jurors will continue deliberations in the trial of a former governor robert ehrlich political aide. bob schurick is accused of trying to suppress the black vote with a robo call assuring voters that martin o'malley won the election. preparing to take the oath of office mayor stephanie rawlings blake will be inaugurated a little later this morning outside city hall. so for a preview what have toexpect let's go to live abc2 news corinne redman.

>> reporter: the mayor is expected to be sworn in today. this is the first full inauguration sworn in as mayor to serve the first 4 year term. you can see city hall is decorated. you can see that the stage has been set. the bleachers are up and city hall is draped in the city's colors and flags line the plaza where the inauguration will be taking place. now this is the second oath of office for stef tbri wry any rawlings-blake. in january 2010 she was sworn inafter the -- stephanie rawlings-blake. in january, 2010, she was sworn in after the previous maine resigned. this is the first elected term for the mayor. officials from the city and state and community groups are expected to be here today in attendance. the mayor's speech is set to talk about her leadership for the next four years in the city and it's making city government more efficient and bidding stronger communities --

tomorrow. abc2 news linda so is live with what to expect. linda. >> reporter: well, in the last hour we have seen lots of employees walking into the store getting ready for the opening tomorrow. later tonight at 5:30, to 8, the store will be hosting a private event called taste of teeter to show community members what they are all about. doors will officially open to the public tomorrow morning at 8. the ribbon cutting ceremony will happen at ten. the store's on wet stoneway and mckenly road. you probably seen it from key highway. it's huge two-story building and 61,000 square feet in side and there's plenty of parking with a four-story parking garage. harris teeter says they will have plenty of fresh foods and items to go to accommodate what people want. for those like and work in the area, they have been waiting a long time for the store to open. >> if everything goes well, and they can hire people and that

amanda knox may be working on a book deal. she plans to talk about the highly publicized ordeal in which an italian court cleared her of murdering her roommate. she hired robert barnett. he brokered major book deals for barack obama bill clinton and george w. bush. and also bob woodward and sarah palin. the blame game is starting over the talk of making snail mail go even more sluggish. the plan to get rid of the next day first class mail at the postal service facing a backlash from customers and congress. greg black has the story. >> reporter: the postal service may have to deal with very unhappy customers if the latest cost cutting proposal gets the green light. at issue a proposal to tack on an extra day or two of delivery time for regular first class mail. >> why would people want to utes post office if they know it's going to be slower than it is right now. >> reporter: the post office is on the brink of bankruptcy. the change is meant to save around 2 billion dollars.

but it would cost about 28,000 postal workers their jobs. that fact has not gone over well in congress. >> this guy this so-called post master general should be fired because of a lack of. his proposing the death nail for the great united states postal service. >> reporter: but the most master general says it comes down to dollars and cents. >> things have changed in our business and like any other responsible business you got to react. >> reporter: the post office doesn't get any taxpayer money but is under federal regulation. if the plan is approved it could take effect as early as april. craig black, abc2 news. the -- >> the postal service says there's another way for congress to help, they want lawmakers to relieve them of the burden of having to pay multimillion dollar payments to a fund for future health care retiree benefits. law makers have not come to an agreement on a payroll tax but they will pass presents for the first time ever. it's a secret sant isa gift
