for five additional vacation days. 95% of the members of the fraternal order of police vote again the proposal. they were upset by pay cuts on the heels of an overhaul of the public safety pension system put in place by mayor stephanie rawlings-blake. the mayor released a statement last night right after the vote saying i am disappointed in the result of tonight's vote, but i remain confident that we can come to an agreement. i am grateful for the city employees who understand that this ecomony has affected everyone. the men and women of baltimore police department have made tough sacrifices and continue to do their jobs courageously and honorablely even during tough times. police and fire unions filed a federal lawsuit again city because they feel officials knowingly underfunded the pension for a decade and claimed the pension changes violate the contracts. that suit is scheduled for march. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. the passengers of the stranded carnival cruise ship

at 11th street. avoid that or use morgan road as an alternate. back to you. >> thanks. this week the harford county school system released the first draft of the restudies tributing -- redistricting plan. some parents and children are not happy about the changes. here's sherrie johnson with more. >> reporter: it's been 8 years since harford county redistributed the elementary schools. administrators say it's time for a change since some of the schools are overcrowded and others are undercapacity. some parents say that problem shouldn't come at their kids expense. under the proposed plan, some students from all of the 33 school districts would move to a new school. parents say friendships will be disrupted if student move and disrupted again when the kid return to their district for middle school. a spokeswoman for the school system said they need to prepare schools in time for the new arrival of new families because of the base realignment and closure or brac process. >> sometimes when you goat a point like this where we have

schools that are severely overcrowded week need to balance out. >> aid very rough transition from elementary to middle. and -- it's a very rough transition from elementary to middle he. when you have no one around you that you know and is your friend. maybe six to 10 i don't think that's the right way to go about this. >> reporter: the harford county school board has public meeting scheduled before vote on the plan. it's expected to happen in march. parents can comment at the meetings. a man accused of trying to shoot a carroll county sheriff deputy is expected to go on trial in march. brian hill waived his right to a speedy trial. he has been charged with attempted murder. his attorney said he need time to prepare for the defense. maryland law would have required hill be be tried before february 9th. he was accused of trying to shoot a detective back on june 14th after webb pulled him
