three men appear or the targeting students. ron is live in the newsroom with the details. >> reporter: two students were robbed in separate incidents over a period of two days on burke avenue near the university's campus. sunday night a student was stabbed several times and robbed of his cell phone. both schools have alerted the student bodies and police have stepped up the patrols in the area. the victim of sunday's attack remains hospitalized with serious injuries. jess, back to you. >> the victim of the most serious attack has not been able to give police detailed descriptions of the suspects just yet. a big marijuana bust in pasadena. august us stone is facing drug charges. 100 marijuana plants were confiscated, found during a raid monday morning.

it's mostly sunny and 65 degrees in central maryland right now. the forecast is coming up. the lax shooting suspect remains sedated and under guard in los angeles. police are piecing together paul ciancia's motive. investigators are revealing a letter he left behind may have mentioned references to the new world order. it also talked about how easy it has to get a gun into the airport. new allegations in the harassment case of a miami dolphins football player. incognito was encouraged to toughen up on his teammate, jonathan martin.

dolphins suspended him for misconduct related to alleged bullying. he made a brief statement yesterday. >> just trying to weather the storm right now and this will pass. >> the association says it will conduct an investigation for all involved. >> reporter: amanda knox's ex- boyfriend is on the stand in italy. tina kraus reports that knox who served four years in prison has not returned for this trial. >> reporter: raffaele sollecito made a plea to give him back a real life. he and his ex-girlfriend, american college student amanda knox are facing the third trial for the 2007 murder of british student meredith kercher. an expert testified that the dna on the knife prosecutors claimed was the murder weapon belonged to knox, not the

victim. that backed up the claim that the knife was a regular kitchen knife. italy's high court ordered a third trial saying the acquittal was full of contradictions. amanda knox is not in court. she told british tv she's too scared to return to italy. >> i was already imprisoned wrongfully. >> he said knox was his first true love and he did not take the accusations seriously at the beginning. >> there'll be another half dozen hearings before the verdict in january. frightened passengers and crew evacuate a plane after a fire at montreal airport in canada. you can see people sliding down the emergency chute while

we have this feature that's pushing into the ohio river valley associated with the cold front. that's moving in to our neighborhood but not until about thursday morning. and it will get out very quickly so that's the good news. high pressure is in control of the weather. we'll see a quarter of an inch of rainfall from the system. clearing by about lunchtime on thursday and we start to bring high pressure back to the picture and then, of course, much cooler air. how cold will we get and when will it arrive. we'll see the cooler temperatures thursday night and in particular friday morning and friday afternoon. we'll see lows in the mid-zeros and highs in the lower 50s. winds out of the south 10 to 15 knots. here's what to expect for the rest of today. 64degrees and a mix of sun and clouds as we head into the overnight hour. 53 and clouds thickening with patchy fog out there. and then the rain moving in during the early hours. the morning commute is what

in today's health watch, 23 million people may be at risk for colorectal cancer and not know it. one in three adults between 50 and 75 are ignoring the recommendations to be screened. even so, more than 100,000 new cases of colon cancer will be diagnosed this year. there's an interactive computer program to help patients deal with depression. those who use the programs in the waiting room are twice as likely to seek help with depression. just a few years of early musical training can help the brain later in life. researchers at northwestern university say it's beneficial for those who haven't touched an instrument in decades. the brains of older adults who
